Sweet! A catch-all thread for the weird, off-the-beaten path items. :rock

I'll kick it off with the odd new INDY "Room Lights" imported from Japan:

http://www.shopncsx.com/images/products/detail/indy_jones_room_light.jpg

The adventures of Henry Jones Junior (they actually named the dog Indiana) resume this May when Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull bows on the silver screen. A merchandising barrage is scheduled to hit North America but Japan gets in on the hype as well. Taito has started preorders for four products which are shipping this summer as follows:

» Indiana Jones Room Light $19.90 ea
Light up the night with one of two oddly appointed artifacts which were/are featured in the Indiana Jones movies. The two artifacts are:

1) Crystal Skull from the upcoming Kingdom of the Crystal Skull movie
2) Golden Idol of a Fertility Goddess from the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie

Ship in mid-late May 2008

(BTW, :lol @ "Indy thread starting master")

Has anyone seen the new Corn Flakes box? It looks really nice. Unfortunately the one box I saw at the store today was all smashed up.

I tried finding a pic on-line with no luck.

IrishJedi

Haven't seen the Corn Flakes one yet, but I did find am oversized box of Cocoa Krispies last night with INDY packaging that looked pretty cool. The store also had the new Indy Adventure Snickers bars, which are essentially Snickers with coconut added. Not bad.

Batty
04-04-2008, 07:50 PM
The was the large all white box with Drew Struzan Indy on the right side. Sort of like how they did the SW boxes during ROTS.

I don't plan on going nuts and collecting everything with Indy on it, but this looked good. And I like Corn Flakes. :D

Not too fond of those. I like the ones below (previously discussed in another thread) better, although their eyes are weird. Of course those Pansonworks figures are much bigger.

http://www.shopncsx.com/images/products/detail/indiana_jones_shop.jpg

The only place I've found that has them for preorder so far is National Console Support (http://www.shopncsx.com/indianajonesonecoinfigures.aspx). They have a set of 10 for $58.90.

By the way, I don't think anyone has mentioned the Indiana Jones Kubrick/Bearbrick set. There had been an Indiana Jones Kubrick available in the past as a "chase" figure in the Star Wars series, but it was very rare and valuable, so it's nice to have one that you can just buy. BBTS has it up for $34.99 (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=MED10192&mode=retail), which is kind of pricey, but a lot less than the chase Indy, which could fetch up to $200.

I hope it looks better than that... It looks like somebody just drew the design on with a gold marker.

IrishJedi
04-05-2008, 03:08 PM
Well, it's either fake or a prototype, obviously.

icruise
04-05-2008, 03:12 PM
Yes, I just am surprised that they would release a picture of a prototype that looks so rough. It would be relatively easy to fake this (just spray an existing Mugg gold and go over it with a different shade of gold), but I'm not necessarily saying it's fake.

IrishJedi
04-05-2008, 09:26 PM
Yeah, the Gree looks pretty darn good.

galactiboy
04-05-2008, 10:24 PM
Yeah, it looks a little rough, but at the same time could just be a rough mock up and the actual product will be smoother.

Or maybe the gold metallic just doesn't go on as nice as the other colors.

Kind of interesting how they are really pushing the Indy food products and not the toys.

icruise
04-16-2008, 08:01 AM
Technically speaking, they're Indy food tie-ins. The difference being that these are existing food brands that are having temporary Indy branding/promotions. If there was a cereal called "Indy-Os" or something, then that would be an Indy food product. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened as well, although they don't seem to do that as much as they used to.

Personally, I could see saving a box from a genuine Indy food product, but not these tie-ins.

Okay, I posted pics of the Crystal Skull Projector and R/C Ant the other day, but look at the other INDY stuff that Uncle Milton Industries has coming out:

I must have the Lost City Archeaology Dig and Room Booby Trap sets! They'd make killer Indy displays, at the very least.
