Hey guys, I'd like to know how many 'official' pictures have been released of the movie. Also, comic and book covers, posters...

I'll start with some of the first pictures we saw:

http://www.vayacine.com/images/2007/11/indiana.jpg
http://tepasmas.com/img/indiana_jones_4/indiana_jones_4_1_2.jpg
http://www.canmag.com/images/front/lucas/indy43.jpg
http://www.nydailynews.com/img/2008/02/13/alg_indy.jpg

It'd be cool if we made this thread an official place to post new pictures as they appear on the Internet.

I know it's been said before but Karen Allen looks great! :D

Karen Allen seems to have found the secert to looking younger than her years. I re-watched Raiders not long ago and was surprised at just how young she looked. Can't believe she was around 30 back then, she appears to be 10 years younger than that in the movie.

Seeing Marion and Indy bicker again is the thing I'm most excited about in this film. Also Indy encountering snakes again will be fun!

The actor on the left (over Harrison's right shoulder) was on LOST (the one with the eye patch who killed Charlie) but he also appeared with Ford before. He was in AIR FORCE ONE and he was the Russian terrorist that Ford's President character killed while the V.P. (Glenn Close) and others listened in on the cell phone that Ford had in his pocket. The other actor was the Russian message operator from DEADWOOD.

Useless info I know--- but waiting for more pics to surface.:D

Her "secret" is a good plastic surgeon.

Upon further review the Russian actor from DEADWOOD is also in AIR FORCE ONE (although he had no scenes with Ford) as he was one of the guards at the prison when General Radek (sp?) was being released towards the end of the movie.

I too find myself really surprised at how good Indy looks, and how little the costume has changed. Oh and i must have Karen Allen's plastic surgeons name, he (or she) does AMAZING work. :chew

I don't know if you guys have seen these promotional pictures before. The new issue of the Spanish magazine 'Cinemanía' was out today and I was pleasantly surprised to see a picture of Shia/Mutt I hadn't seen before on the cover. The inside story features full page pictures like these I'm posting. My scanner is pretty crappy and pictures are kind of blurry and have yellow stains on them, sorry!... If someone has them in better quality please post them.

What? Is Harrison Ford getting the finger rather than giving it?!!!!

Absolutely he'll give as good as he gets! :D

And by the way, to everyone considering a figure of Indy, please note the standard Harrison Ford neck to body posture! And no, that slight hump effect is not because he is old. He's ALWAYS like that (note backlit profile shot against the sun in the digging scene in Raiders and you see it too).
Harrison's head does not come straight up from his spine like almost all toys do. His head comes at this angle out and forward from his shoulders, putting his face out in front of his torso like that. THAT makes him look like Indy, and that is in large part what is missing in almost all existing figures.
Make notes guys and adjust accordingly when the new necked figures arrive! :rock

I know Andrew Divoff mostly from Lost, but I just can't convince myself that the actor in that picture is him. I know he's in the new Indy movie, but that face just doesn't quite look right to me. Could he be one of the other henchmen?

And did anybody mention that he was in Hunt For Red October? And Wishmaster?

I've collected just about every movie poster Drew Struzan has painted since 1984 when he did Temple Of Doom. He's definitely my favorite artist! Check out his website at www.drewstruzan.com! The "rumor" I heard was that Drew painted three different posters for the new movie. Two "teasers" or advance posters, and then one regular style. This is the second poster so far, so if the rumor is true then the regular style is still on the way. He also did a smaller promo poster at the San Diego Comic Con with Indy in various poses. A collage of Indys. There was also a large booklet at the Comic Con last year that reprinted some of his older Indy portraits. I got that booklet and the small promo poster too.

Just one thing -- the idea of the aliens' involvement in human history predates Däniken by at least a century, and his work is overall of such a dodgy quality that someone as knowledgeable about lore and myth as Lucas would probably not base this storyline on Chariots of the Gods. This may yet surprise people...

While that makes perfect sense (and I know about the theory of aliens being involved in human history being around forever) "Chariots of The Gods" was cited to me as somewhat of an influence on Lucas' INDY IV plot idea by someone within Lucasfilm as far back as 1999. And Däniken was indeed among the first to attempt to tie the Crystal Skulls themselves into the whole lore. It's worth mentioning... especially when people still seem surprised at the idea of alien stuff being mentioned in the movie at all.

A special note to collectors -- This poster is an authentic, double-sided theatrical one-sheet that is identical to those that will be displayed in the movie theater light boxes. In the past, StarWarsShop has offered theatrical one-sheets to collectors before the film's rating is printed on the poster, which any collector will tell you these days is the more common variation. We're offering the rarer rated version to our shoppers, and will ship them as soon as they're available in April, well ahead of the film's release.

Note: The image accompanying this listing showcases the non-rated version -- you'll be receiving the rarer rated version.

Yeah, Karma, I noticed that statment too over at the Star Wars Shop website. That is cool. I've collected movie posters, or "one-sheets" for over 23 years. I've got many teasers, and second advance posters for movies, that will sometimes have the full credits but no movie rating. I'm happy to know I'll be getting this new Drew Struzan poster WITH the movie rating on it. I have a feeling it may be PG-13. What do you guys think? PG-13, or PG?

IrishJedi
03-11-2008, 12:58 PM
I think all the RAIDERS films are PG-13 type movies. Afterall, TOD ushered in the rating (though it was actually rated PG). If the rating were around, the first two films would definitely have been PG-13.

Sure...agreed. So, when Spielberg put out Temple Of Doom he suggested to the president of the M.P.A.A. that a new stronger PG rating for teens 13 and above be created. So...the first PG-13 movie was "Red Dawn" in 1985. I was 14 years old, and thought it was cool way back then that I could get in to see it. It became one of my favorite movies to this day. :D

Yes, Winstone provided the voice of Beowulf. I got the Beowulf Director's Cut DVD, and the body of Beowulf, is definitely not Ray Winstone. He even admits he's a short and tubby Englishman! The physique of Beowulf is director Robert Zemeckis's and the production crew's own vision of Beowulf as a perfect physically fit man able to take on monsters with his bare hands.

Indy meets Close Encounters!

Do you think, at the end, several little "Puck" aliens will come out and try to touch Indy with spindley fingers and Indy will start whipping their assses?

SNAP! CRACK! *aliens scurry back to their ship*

I just wanna know why Indy is wearing the Mark VII bag outside of his jacket in every picture I've seen of this movie. Is there a legit reason that we find or a big OOPS by the continuity dept?

That's not the Mark VII bag... it's a separate backpack. Indy Gearheads have already been researching it.

Yeah, I think we all hope we'll look like Harrison when we're 65 years old! I know he is a certified pilot and owns 7 airplanes. He also has a huge amount of land around where he lives with Callista Flockhart in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

I'm curious as to EXACTLY who John Hurt is playing...
Everything I have seen says Oxley, BUT when they first changed the site over, the characters (or cast... something) said that he was playing Abner Ravenwood...

I finally watched this movie. I rather enjoyed it. I felt it was ridiculous in spots, but so is every other Indy movie and that's what makes Indy fun.

:lecture:lecture:clap

Could not agree more...except that 'ridiculous' part about 'every other' Indy movie, I'd say that only for the sequels. I personally think ROTLA is near perfect. The humour and anything that could be 'over-the-top' is just believable enough in Raiders. I thank Kasdan's script and Spielberg's gritty film-making at the time for that.

In terms of the sequels, the more I think about it, the more I think they're just about par. The humour and goofiness of KOTCS is no more so than TLC, so I think they arrived at the 'sequel' formula for the Indy franchise with TLC. Sure, the story wasn't as strong for KOTCS, but I still enjoyed it for the rollicking good time that it was. I wasn't going in to the film expecting another Raiders anyways, so I got pretty much what I prepared myself for.

Plus, it was cool to see Indy throwing those haymakers again! :rock

Do a print screen to borrow the image. That's what I did for the Amy Allen photo when they were saying the figure didn't look like her.
