Don't say that. It's not too tough relative to Indy. Double-breasted suit, long coat, hat, tie, shirt, shoes, glasses all have been done by SS before. I'd say TOHT is the ONLY Raiders figure worthy of the $89 price tag. The others are really simple outfits and should go for less.

I would love to see a Marion figure. I just hope they can use a preexisting female body as to keep her cost to something in the $50-60 range since I just CANNOT pay $90 a figure for everyone in this line no matter how much I want too. I want Belloq too but I kinda want him in his ceremonial robes from the end of RAIDERS.

If they had released this figure back when they first announced the license then I could understand a more regular pace of release.

I think the big problem is that no actual figures will be ready until the movie is long out of theaters... Indy will probably ship around the time the DVD comes out.

This way those that didn't get the exclusive would be able to get the sculpt without the hat on. While I am thinking about it, I also ordered the non-exclusive version. I am wondering how the additional head will attach. The photos on Sideshow's site don't reveal this and I don't want to be able to see where it attaches. For some reason that red/white outfit has been the one that toy companies seem to constantly release.

If SST continue to operate in their 'it's a female figure, that'll do' universe I agree. I have both the Van Helsing figures and they are testament to figures circa 2004, but we live in a far better world now... HELLO SIDESHOW... NEW FEMALE BODY... NOT JUST NEEDED... but frankly 'required', you are meant to be 'competeing!'

I was talking to Pjam today, and if SS continues with any more Raiders figures at all, MARION now seems to be the most likely.

So we're back to the question: which outfit?

Cairo Outfit has been done to death.

Belloq Dress is the most iconic, since she wears it for half the film, but not ideal for a jointed body.

But I have to say, for me personally, the Bar Outfit is where she's the most 'Marion": she's tough, she's wiley, she punches Indy, she smokes...

I also think the Bar Outfit is the best for the non-exposed joint issue. Also, it's the easiest sculpt because her hair's pulled back. The outfit may not be very flattering or sexy, but it would look best in 1/6th.

Anyway, here's my thoughts on what she could come with:

Bar Outfit: Ra medallion (key), shot glass, smokes, wad of cash, torch (log from fire really) and maybe the nazi gun she grabs.

Cairo Outfit: monkey, fry pan, and a basket (cool stuff actually).

Belloq Dress: not much here...maybe a torch, maybe those wedge blocks from the plane, a drinking glass and dinner knife from Belloq's table??? She really doesn't have anything too interesting. Unless they gave her the ark.

So, given all that, what's your preference?

That would be my pick as well. I would want other characters also, but SS needs to do Henry Sr. Beyond that, Mola Rom, Young Indy, Short Round and Sallah. I would even purchase Marcus Brody.

I'd also like to see KOTCS- and TLC-era Indy figures. A TOD Indy (with the ripped shirt etc.) would be nice but I dunno if SS could pull it off well without some sort of rubber muscle body.

Sean Connery turned Skull down. Lucas was NOT happy. So it's unlikely that Lucas would not want to deal with Connery for likeness issues specific to a SS protrait headsculpt that has to look like Connery. Obviously the 3 3/4" figs can be made because there's no likeness rights. Also might explain why Henry wasn't done in the Hasbro 12" line.

But I have to say, for me personally, the Bar Outfit is where she's the most 'Marion": she's tough, she's wiley, she punches Indy, she smokes...

I also think the Bar Outfit is the best for the non-exposed joint issue. Also, it's the easiest sculpt because her hair's pulled back. The outfit may not be very flattering or sexy, but it would look best in 1/6th.

Anyway, here's my thoughts on what she could come with:

Bar Outfit: Ra medallion (key), shot glass, smokes, wad of cash, torch (log from fire really) and maybe the nazi gun she grabs.

Cairo Outfit: monkey, fry pan, and a basket (cool stuff actually).

Belloq Dress: not much here...maybe a torch, maybe those wedge blocks from the plane, a drinking glass and dinner knife from Belloq's table??? She really doesn't have anything too interesting. Unless they gave her the ark.

So there's two more items there...and it's likely that there's more Raiders characters since the numbers fall inbetween Indy and Belloq.

I'll definitely buy Sallah and Marion if Sideshow makes them. I'm one of those that DOES care about these characters. :D I'm really hoping that they do get made. Now we know for sure we're getting three major characters from Raiders. Indy that's already out, and Belloq and Toht. Yeah, I want a Mola Ram too. I think they could use the new smaller Hot Toys body they used for Frodo and Sam for a Short Round from TOD. Hopefully Sideshow will do that.
