My first port of call is to get another Giles figure.

Instant Professor Jones.

With my second spare head I'm thinking maybe a Bladerunner or even Nazi Indy.

Thanks for giving us Head sideshow!

Any pics of the professor Indy? I will buy a Giles right now if they are the same match.

I only wished the extra head was the OLDER current version of Harrison Ford as Indy then my collection of Indy heads would be complete.

Might. But as of now they aren't included with the Indy figure nor are the bodies being sold separate. So no sign of adapters soo as of now... nope! :monkey3

Sachiel

He's right though. The Indy head won't be able to connect to the old Sideshow neck piece. You can't put a HT Jack Sparrow head on a SSC body.

Although it might be compatible with a HT body.

This is the best bet. Get a HT body or maybe SSC will release their's separate.

I'm really hoping that we will see updated Art S. Bucks with the new body and a neck adaptor packed in for those of us who want to update our old figures.

Can't say as I would update ALL of them, but there are a few, like Kroenen and Darth Maul, that could make good use of a new body. Bib Fortuna and Old Ben.... not so much.

Best part is that I can give it a neck that WILL be able to fit on the Buck, so that's going to help as well. :rock

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet but the extra head (sans hat) would be perfect on a Nazi uniform for a fig of Dr. Jones when he runs into Der Fuhrer at the book burning in The Last Crusade.

Agreed, but beggars can't be choosers--it'd also be an easy custom as you'd just have to get the head to fit on a body that already has a Nazi uniform. Add a book (diary) and voila--- you're ready to go to der Fuhrer's next book signing...........

I thin I'll switch the heads out on my figure and go from an Indy wearing Hat to Indy holding hat pose every now and again. Not the most exciting thing to do, but I still look forward to it with gleeful anticipation.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread just to give us something else to talk about...IF the SSC Indy figure ever arrives what will you be doing with the extra head?

I'm getting one exclusive and one standard figure, so I'll have two extra heads. Ideally, I'd like to have a tux Indy and German uniform Indy - anyone know if there's a 1/6 scale white tux other than the Legacy Bond ones? I've looked everywhere for one, hoping some place in Hong Kong might make them, but I haven't found any. I don't like the Legacy Bond ones - none of them are accurate and they all look a bit bulky.

Similarly, what's the best match for Indy's German Disguise outfit? There must be a load out there, but I don't know much about military figures. I know Hasbro is supposedly making one, but while the working Bazooka looks fun I'm sure the outfit will stink so I don't really want to use it.

As for the 'extra' Adventurer Indy figure, that will become a Temple of Doom version with ripped shirt, probably off the Hasbro one when it comes out.

And as for the likelihood of us getting this figure at all...I think we'll get it, but this has to be one of my worst buying experiences ever.

If you can pick up an extra shirt and tie, you could go with the Scarface 12." He floats around ebay for as little as $30 or maybe a retailer has him kitted out. As for the German disguise (ROTLA), I'd just watch the movie again and see what Monkey Depot has in loose WWII AXIS uniforms (http://www.monkeydepot.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=259&Page=1).

I've already got a Giles en route and a HT headless TrueType waiting for that extra Indy noggin to complete a Professor Jones.

If the tie is standard, it'll be the normal tie with an elastic strap. Simply remove the tie from the elastic, fold it into a bowtie (with a glued "twist" in the middle for the knot unless you're masterfull enough to actually tie it) then stitch it back onto the elastic. Viola!

Actually, nvm, like Armored Obi, it looks like it'll be completely compatible with HotToys' TruType body body. So I'll just pick up one of those and strip Giles naked to dress the TrueType. :yuck

Does anyone else make 'spare bodies' where the joints are covered up, like the ones Hot Toys uses for Rambo? I'd like one for when I do a torn-shirt Temple of Doom custom. What are they generally called - 'muscle' bodies? I'd never had much interest in them until I realised how cool they would make such a figure look.

Ebay. You can find a spare Rambo, Rocky body on any one of the Hong Kong ebaY stores for relatively cheap in comparison to the complete figs. Just make sure the skin tone matches. But be warned. They're not very poseable.

I'm thinking I'll pick up a True Type and make a Temple of Doom Indy. I have an outfit from that godawful Hasbro talking Indy figure that I can easily distress and tear up. Any ideas where I can find a good 1:6 machete? I would try one of the SSC Jason figures, but I think those are all blood covered.

The Kenobi head is so I can't imagine Indy wouldn't be. Also, other companies have bodies where a neck adapter can be used to accommodate HT style headsculpts.

Here's my plan:

Raiders: SSC Indy displayed with Belloq idol pedestal

Professor Indy: extra Indy head on extra Prometheus with Giles outfit and glasses

TOD: 2nd SSC indy w/ torn Kenner shirt on a Hot Toys muscular body. Prometheus goes to Professor.

Club Obi Wan: extra Indy head on a HT Truetype with Legacy Bond tuxedo. Displayed with Medi Nurachi accessory and Hasbro diamond artifact.

TLC: Medi Indy with a tie and massive body (yes, I know you hate it). Displayed on a 21st century german motorcycle with sidecar, custom grail diary and Henry Sr.

Crystal Skull: unless the Medi looks way better than the protos I'll skip the entire thing. Displayed with Gentle Giant Crystal Skull.

Try MonkeyDepot or VikingPlayground. Often times they kit out SOG/Vietnam figures who come with those as extras, so you can buy them straight-off vs. having to pick up the whole figure. Otherwise, a little thinner and silver paint touch ups would fix the blood covered Jason machetes.
