Found this when looking through my old orders and it made me grit my teeth. I was on vacation and without a computer when Orthanc shipped. I had updated my credit card, but (apparently) that change didn't apply to this exisiting order. When I was finally able to check my mail I found that they had requested updated credit card information from me. By then, it was too late and the order had been cancelled. I promised myself that I would pick it up off of Ebay later when I had the chance...and you know the rest. So there's my story about the Orthanc that got away, for all those currently debating which items to cancel and then pick up later on the secondary market!

Worse kind of cancellation ... the one that got cancelled for ya without you knowing :thud

Or canceling an order from SS cause you think you have one ordered closer to home only to find out ...not!!
That hurts too :bang

So Hells of Iron... you have my Orthanc! Please take good care of it!!! If you ever sell it for $1200 on ebay, send me a case of Dr. Pepper.

Very sad story...

But those shipping rates are amazing to me! You guys in the US get such a great deal.

Yes, not bad. I have saved a VAT full of money in shipping costs. Plus, I only live a few hours away, so I get the package the next morning after they ship it. It's pretty nice. I'm sure that you guys in Europe have paid more than an Orthanc on ebay's worth of money just in shipping. I'm sorry!!

That would sting! I don't know which is worse, that or passing on that piece because you didn't like at the time. You know there are people who said "Nah, I'll pass on it, just doesn't do it for me. Doesn't look quite right." Having it cancelled though, that's just maddening, drop to your knees and scream to the heavens kind if insanity.

I would've ranted and raved at them for cancelling it withou hearing from me. Did you explain what had happened? I would have been on their backs until they found me another one for something like this, and so limited too!

You had to wait two years to get your order? I think I'm missing something here.

If you think that is something...

Not a bad deal for the entire city, but the tax is gonna hurt! :bonk Not sure which coupon I used to get the discount that added up to the total, but I sure wish I could find it again! :rollin

And yes, that is a real order page; it just got screwed up somewhere along the way!
