Great mini-series! I wouldn't mind seeing all of Easy Company in all their glory made into 1/6 figure!

Same here. Was watching the series Saturday and was thinking about some 1/6 figures of Easy Company.

I would love to have a set of Easy Company figures.
One of the finest television series ever made.
By the way, there are some very good headsculpts out there that can double for several of the actors. DML/Dragon's "Wiley" is a dead-ringer for Buck Compton. DID's latest 101st figure looks very similar to Nixon and there's a custom headsculpt at "Monkey Depot" that looks like Winters. (would benefit from a repaint, though. )

Great idea and hopefully someone at SSC is taking note. I watch this series at least once a year and it would be extremely cool if Sideshow picked up a license to do the men of Easy.

Damn, I never really thought of BoB for a line, but after seeing that Easy Company group photo, this line would kill hard. I loved this series so much and watched it with lots of my friends when we were in the Gulf.
I would definitely have to get a loan, but I would buy every single figure and arrange them just like the photo! Please Sideshow, please get this license and make this line!!

Damn, if this did, I would flip out. But this would be a ridiculously expensive line to go down. If HT does this line like their modern military line, this could be truly amazing stuff.

Actually, I would probably be interested in just the headsculpts.
It could prove hard to decide which time period to capture in 1/6th scale (uniform/gear wise):
Pre-jump Normandy
Post-jump Normandy (Carentan)
Market Garden
Battle of the Bulge
Dragon, BBI and DiD have come out with some amazing sets, not to mention Newline Miniatures. SS would be hardpressed to match any of them and keep the price point reasonable.

I'd definitely be in for a set of these. Its the only TV show I followed every week when it was on live (normally I must tape and watch later to fast forward through Ads).
I make sure to watch the DVD at least once a year. (I've also read the book, Stephen Ambrose's other books and have the Soundtrack)

I think SST would be the completely wrong choice to make these figures...
There's two excellent companies that specialize in WWII, DML and DID, that have been making figures very similar to those of BoB for a while now and have all the expertise to pull it off.
Just take a look at this figure:

So in the case of BoB, one question would be who should the face sculpts look like. While I'm sure each actor was carefully considered, should say Major Winters look like the actor that played him or the real Major Winters as he looked in 1943-45.
Personally I think they should look like the real actual people, anything less is just disrespectful.

I think people want the TV characters. With all due respect to the veterans, people associate Damian Lewis' face with Winters, Ron Livingstone's face with Nixon etc.

i agree that people would probably want the actors sculpt. but what would be a really cool tribute would be an insert into the packaging or on the back of box that show the real person and a bio. kinda like the bonus features did in the box set.

Going with the actors' likenesses for the figures and including an individual bio of each Easy veteran on the packaging would be an excellent compromise!
Sideshow would definitely get my vote for head sculpt duties. Dragon, DiD, or even some of the smaller independents who've been focused mainly on producing incredibly detailed and accurate WW2 figures and equipment would most likely be in the best position to handle an undertaking of this magnitude.

Again, I would point out to DID's sculpt of Nix, IMHO it is a much better likeness of the actor than what I've seen on most SST sculpts.
Just saying that there's lots of sculptors out there who can nail a likeness, and not necessarily all of them work at SST.

i agree with your disagreement..........sideshow could completely do this line justice if they would be willing to do the RD it would take to be screen accurate as the hanks/spielberg production team did to bring us the most excellent BOB saga. watching the extra bonus features show how in depth they really went to make everything as accurate as possible & down to the last details on the buckles of leggings.........and they didnt have to ....but they did. and really if you think about movies and what seperates a great film & a greater than great film........its the details !! :lecture

Agreed. It would only be worth it if SS went really big on the R&D for this. There's just so much detail involved to do it half a$$.

I guess I just don't understand why we should hope for SST to do a ^^^^load of R&D when other companies are already doing fantastically accurate figures of 1/6 scale WWII military, using materials such as wood, metal and leather, and are doing great headsculpts and loaded with gear for under 70USD...
I just don't see the logic in that.
To me, it would actually be easier to kitbash these figures. You just need to get the headsculpts.

Im watching it too. Good stuff.
On a side note... I sent Ada Chan (ebay 1/6 head sculptor) a message on ebay requesting that she take a stab at sculpting some of the BOB charactors. Maybe she'll try sculpting a couple if enough people make requests. I figured it was worth a try. She does pretty good work and with the availability of all the 1/6 gear, BOB customs are somewhat easy to make. I'm finishing up a Sgt. Guarnere right now and have a Buck Compton in the works. They could benefit from some more decent sculpts though.

I'd be down for a set. And I think Sideshow is capable of doing a great job with these. Their Platoon figures were pretty darn good, especially when you consider that those were some of their earlier 1:6 figures. So they can definitely do military figures right when they want to.
The only thing is that they'd have to treat this line as one of their A-list properties, like Star Wars and LOTR and put their money into detailed, accurate outfits and head sculpts. I'd hate for them to treat BoB as one of their secondary lines, like Shaun of the Dead. :(

There's just too many good characters from this series to choose a few. I'd say Guarnere is a must have as well though. Winters goes without saying.
