Mine arrived Thursday. It was even more ugly than I thought it would be. I like it!!! Personally, I think you could not ask for better likenesses. It did take me a while to find the tiny holes to hold the reins, but with a flashlight and close examination, I finally got it done.
Can't wait to get Legolas/Gimli and have Gimli taking a swipe at the Warg.

Yes I have those and my personal rating of those three are..
1) Gandalf on Shadowfax
2) Ringwraith & Steed
3) Gothmog & Warg
This doesn't mean that G&W isn't super cool but I would get it last of the three..

2) Gothmog & Warg
3) Gandalf on Shadowfax
GOSF is no way near as good as the other two IMO.

I absolutely LOVE this piece. I don't have mine yet, but I'll get it eventually. I think my collection will consist of all of the Rider and Steeds, Sauron, 3 environments, the mini-monsters, and the lithos.
I'm selling all of the statues of the characters except for possibly the KOTD. That piece just looks too cool!

No, I don't have Sam & Bill. Even if it technically is a Horse and Rider piece, I don't consider it one either. I just decided that I want to get all of the LARGE pieces. I've been by far the most impressed with them. GOSF and RWOS are my 2 favorite pieces. I figured that I should only get the pieces that I absolutely adore. The big pieces released are:
1. RWOS (have)
2. Balrog (want, but will never pay for)
3. Cave Troll (ditto)
4. GOSF (have)
5. Stone Trolls (may get one day)
6. Treebeard bust (may get one day)
7. Gothmog (will get)
8. Aragorn at the Black Gates (preordered)
9. Leg. and Gimli on Arod (preordered)
10. Sauron (preordered)
These are the cream of the crop in the LOTR line, IMO, and are what I am focused on getting. I will fill in the gaps on my shelves with the mini-monsters and enviros. I plan to hang the Barad-Dur giclee over the RWOS and the Rivendell giclee over GOSF at opposite ends of my display. I'll put Evil on one side and Good on the other. I can't wait until it's completed early next year.
I just wish I could've gotten a Treebeard statue, a ROTK litho, and an Eomer on Firefoot. :cry

Right on.
I am still unsure of the Gothmog on Warg piece.
On one hand, I love it.
One the other I may not have enough room for all of the pieces I want if I do.
Althou, I do plan on giving Sauron his own shelf displayed next to my Barad-Dur Giclee.
Gothmog on Warg does intrigue me, and I do love the H&R pieces, but I wasn't a big fan of the Gothmog character....
What to do....?

Got my Gothmog today from Da Godfather. Very cool and Very Big. Its light not sure if its as ligh as the pics we've seen and the mouth doesn't appear to be dry like Saurons. Gothmog doesn't appear to be as light either but he isn't as dark as the SSW pic but thats ok with me. I love how big it is!! The detail in it is awesome between the Warg and Gothmog. Its a very worthy piece to buy.

Got mine today (#223) - and I love him! He's very detailed, Warg is very, very cool. Haven't tried to put it together yet, but have been warned by many about the reins problem.
Alas, I cannot group him with my other horse/rider pieces because Gandalfax and RWoS are here in my office at work; Gothmog will have to make the trip home since I can (be decree) only keep 4 statues here at work.

This is an awesome statue!!! The jaw of the warg is well done, with huge teeth. The reins were a challenge for me to. You need to insert the reins before you put Gothmog down on the warg, when you do, the reins get taunt. This is a nice touch! I hope Gothmog doesn't fall off his steed, but it should be ok since the reins hold him down too. One awesome piece! I must get the last 3 Steed statues now (Aragorn, Lego/Gimli and Mumak)! What a shame, no Rohirrim like Eomer or Theoden on horseback and the collection would be complete.

Are we classifying the Mumak as a rider statue now? I think he would need a driver to gain that title, and so far, it seems that he is without one. Would CERTAINLY love him to be part of the Rider line..... BIG, MENACING with the Driver and arrows to boot!

Yeah, UPS sometimes is a little rough with packages. My gothmog box has a dent on the back, thank god the foam protected the Warg and Gothmog. I am a little surprised that Gothmog came detached and in it's own cubby hole in the syrofoam. He is one ugly mf! I jokingly said to my wife "How about putting this as the centerpiece on our dining room table". I knew her response : No way. She doesn't like anything hideous. She only likes the pretty statues like Gandalf on Shadowfax. I think hideous can be cool, hey it's art! The warg is really nice, I think it is one of the best sculpts SSW has done!!!
And on the Mumak, well maybe it is a riderless steed, but a steed nonetheless. We have not seen the whole statue, so maybe a mumak chieftain is atop it? Hoping!

Well, after some long thought....I decided to pass on this one.
I'm just not that crazy about the Gothmog character, and althou I love the H&R pieces. I'm passing.
