Thanks, Fed Ex!!!

07-12-2005, 12:26 PM
Congrats!!! I think I've been authorized for mine.

07-12-2005, 12:27 PM
Interesting that the base says, "Eowyn, Shield Maiden" and not Eowyn as Dernhelm. "Dernhelm" is nowhere to be found on the statue or package...

tomandshell, it would be a lot better for everyone if you used Imageshack's thumbnail link option, instead of directly linking all of the full size images. Just a (hopefully) helpful suggestion.

07-12-2005, 12:41 PM
Congrats on getting it and thanks for the pictures. It truly does look an amazing sculpture.

That looks like the old face on her... :dunno
It does't look like the improved facial sculpt! Man, The statue is great, but I thought the face would look better.... :(

07-12-2005, 12:45 PM
Took a while to load, but the pics are really good. But! What the heck is with her teeth! They look horrible. Gotta say that I really like this statue, but the face leaves me cold. sigh

07-12-2005, 01:03 PM
Took around a week to load, and well.. it doesn't do much for her good looks does it. >D I know theirs no dentists is middle earth, but I'm sure her teeth, weren't that bad. :\

Wow, Her teeth really weren't that bad! Will this piece demand a new era in Collectibles: Dental Accuracy????:lol hmm, :dunno

It IS a great statue though! Can't wait to get mine on Friday!

07-12-2005, 03:20 PM
Hey- sorry everybody for doing the pictures wrong. Haven't used imageshack much yet! I am figuring out how to link it instead of inserting it directly.

She needs a gold grill on those chomper's! :p :lol

07-12-2005, 03:34 PM

Wow ! Great teeth ! She looks like a Walmart shopper .

07-12-2005, 04:32 PM
Very nice!

07-12-2005, 04:46 PM
LOTR Fan, I am curious to see what you say about the teeth on your's. That was the first thing I noticed in the pictures.

Also, I got my e-mail from Bob at Fireside, mine is on it's way. :rock

07-12-2005, 05:01 PM
whew, those teeth,i think i saw her on jerry springer last week:lol

07-12-2005, 05:05 PM

07-12-2005, 05:06 PM
OOPS- double post.

07-12-2005, 05:06 PM
It's funny- looking at the statue in person, the teeth are not noticeable. Blown up big in the picture, they do look like they're straight out of "Austin Powers."

"I am no man, baby!!!"

Damn, thats the first thing I noticed (the teeth). :eek

Mine should be here by Friday. :rock

07-12-2005, 06:18 PM
Overall she looks great, but true, teeth ... strange.

So her features don't seem to have changed from the original image releases.
Does this suggest that they might not be listening to peoples opinions after all??

07-12-2005, 07:34 PM
Maybe her bottom teeth are that way?

Still I haven't seen so many funny dental jokes in the one place. :lol

07-12-2005, 10:12 PM

This is how I'm displaying Eowyn :vik

07-12-2005, 10:29 PM
That's the best shot I've seen Charles (as usual :clap ).

I was about to post agreement with the consensus: nice sculpt/pose, but the face is off. I still think that, but the shadowing in that pic or maybe the selected angle helps considerably.

07-12-2005, 11:15 PM
Great picture and a wonderful pose. :bow
Can't wait to get my Eowyn!

07-12-2005, 11:44 PM
This is a really good statue. I agree that with the picture blown up her teeth look bad. I don't notice anything wrong when I look at mine.

She looks like a Walmart shopper
That is SO WRONG HoS!!:poke

07-13-2005, 11:16 AM
I think the things that are throwing people off on this one, is (obviously) the teeth, because of her gritting them when her mouth should have been just opened not showing teeth, or just showing the tips of them. (remember, she was terrified up until the point where she stuck the witch king in the face). The hair (again with the hair) lying across her back instead of around her head and face and hanging down so you could see the length of it from the front of the statue, and not having her squinting. She did that a lot in the movie. It's still a hell of a lot better than the new Aragorn.

07-14-2005, 01:28 AM
nice pose Chuck.
I'd display it like this too if i'd ordered both pieces :(

Still, the teeth are dodge.

07-14-2005, 02:08 AM

Miranda and Viggo have those itty-bitty British teeth, it's part of how brilliant the casting was.

Also, those hollywood chompers are heinous in their own way.

But.....that statue is just plain mean.

fat hobbitss
07-14-2005, 02:24 AM
I'm sorry but the more I look at it the less it looks like Miranda at all. The worst linkeness for a woman in the statue line (for bust that should be fatty Galadriel).

07-14-2005, 07:44 PM
anyone who has gotten ther eowyn help me?
I got mine today andthe peg doesnt fit in hre foot all the way it seems, she can rock back and forth on the peg like she is ready to fall, I am sorta worried about displaying.. anyone else have this problem? it is a small peg :(

Sir Tristram
07-14-2005, 08:13 PM
Yeah, the more I look at it....it ceases to look like her....Hmm....I thought they improved the likeness from the original prototype?!

07-14-2005, 08:53 PM
I didn't have that problem with mine sorry Goofyjas. :( Does yours have the metal insert inside of the peg hole?

07-14-2005, 09:23 PM
that looks NOT good...

07-14-2005, 09:28 PM
that sounds not gooder....

07-14-2005, 09:37 PM
it's gooder than sounding badder than it...

07-15-2005, 08:34 AM
I got mine today and she fantastic !, much better than I had expected. The sideshow pictures really do not do these pieces any justice.

:toast :gimli

07-15-2005, 08:38 AM
Doesn't look like Miranda, but I 'll eventually get it some day.

07-16-2005, 02:53 PM
i got mine today from ss and the paint is very good.no problems with this piece for me,number 353 in the house.my only concern is minor, the arm and shield, the arm seem to have been a seperate piece, from the shield, and the arm is a little loose ,kinda wiggly from the shield.i may contact ss to see about getting another:hat ,all in all though a well done piece imho:ent

07-17-2005, 04:59 AM
This is a really good statue. I agree that with the picture blown up her teeth look bad. I don't notice anything wrong when I look at mine.
All is good and the way I have her posed with the Morgul Lord you don't see her face anyway. Nice butt too...:clap

07-17-2005, 10:37 AM
Poly fettish! :lol

07-17-2005, 04:14 PM
Eowyn is in and I'm very pleased. Like the last piece in, Gothmog, I was still a bit on the fence until seeing it, but am fully satisfied with the result. The face is not distracting at all in person. Maybe the super-zoomed photos or some poor angles were the culprit, but this is fine. My wife said the same: "Oh, that's much better". Thumbs up! :clap

I'm really looking forward to KOTD though. That's one I was 100% on from the start and if it is also "better than expected", that will really be something to cheer about. :ar

07-18-2005, 07:11 AM
My Eowyn arrived today. #'d 948/7,500 I really like this piece. I was worried about the teeth, but, it's fine.

Great piece, love the shield, the Helm on the base, and her cloak.

Definitely a "keeper". :rock

Thanks Bob at Fireside. :bow

07-18-2005, 11:51 AM
Yup, got mine today too! Big thanks to the Godfather!!

Eowyn is GREAT! The way I hae her set up is so that you see her in all her glory, and the ML facing her. When you have it arranged the other way, there really is nothing to see and it is a real shame.. however, the back of the ML is really impressive and you don't miss the essence, or much of the physical look of the character at all!

Very cool statue! Perhaps one day these guys will be on a pedestarl, but for now.. it looks good!

07-18-2005, 11:54 AM
I actually have them displayed separately right now.

Had them together, like you said your's are, but I don't like to have the ML back facing out, I like it the other way so I can see his mace in it's glory.

I tried it that way with Eowyn and I didn't like that, because I couldn't see her face and shield.

I might play around with it some more later on, right now I will keep them separate.

It really is a great piece thou, I really like it.

Sir Tristram
07-18-2005, 11:56 AM
I am actually not that happy with mine...With all the waiting on this one it did not come through the way I had hoped.

It shifts around on its base and the damn sword! How hard are you supposed to push that stupid thing into her hand without breaking it?...it is so flimsy! >:
Also, it doesn't line up with the pommel and bottom part of the handle! :bang :puke

07-18-2005, 12:03 PM
Agent... I tried them seperately but just didn't think it worked.... possibly because I think she looked more "squeezed in" than anything else... so maybe when I have more room I will reconsider... for now, I'll keep them the way they are (despite the fact that you DO lose the glory of the mace... SIGH)

Sir Tristan... that sucks man! My Eowyn slid right into her post and seemed to be pretty fairly planted. The Sword slid in equally easily. Really had no problems with tihs piece at all when it came to assembly. I think the important thing with the sword it to line up the blade in accordance with the handle.... sorry for your trouble bud!

Heart Of Stone

Sir Tristram - Are you certain you weren't putting the sword in her hand upside down . The sword actually has a little groove on only one side of the hilt . You will notice a small circle on it . When the sword is placed in her hand the grove should face downward . If you put it in the opposite direction , it would have to be forced in , and that may be the problem . As for the peg problem it sounds like a couple of you may have received statues with defects . You may want to think about returning them . The one I got fits perfect and does not wobble .

As for the many complaints about the teeth , one would have to be looking at her mouth with a magnifying glass in order to notice anything . I was concerned about the teeth at first when I saw the magnified pictures , but I now have this statue , and it is not noticeable at all , even when viewed by the naked eye up very close .

I personally think that the likeness is very accurate when viewed in person . Lighting can play a huge part in how these things look . Just like the Gothmog and Warg statue , I had my doubts at first , but now both of these pieces are among my favorites . This is a Hell of a companion piece for anyone that owns the Morgul Lord , and a great piece in its own right for those that do not .

Sir Tristram
07-18-2005, 12:40 PM
yeah, I know...I put it with the groove/circle faced downward!

07-18-2005, 05:56 PM
Just had to add another post....

I am SO happy with this piece! The detail, paint, sculpt and pose is among the best i've seen. I was really looking at everything and I honestly don't see a single flaw. Like many have noted, the teeth in person look 100% normal. The Chain Mail, flow of her cape, paint job... everything thing is top notch! I am actually really pleased with my set-up too. You really don't loose as much of the ML as I thought and the pairing of the two is just TOO COOL to pass up!

If you don't have this piece, i strongly suggest it! I knwo a lot of people were going back and forth about this and Gothmog, but both these pieces have been simply spectacularly done and I couldn't imagine my collection without them!
