I SOLD A SLIGHTLY DAMAGED AND REPAIRED ONE LAST NIGHT FOR 265 GBP SO I WOULD SAY THAT 300 FOR MINT ONE IS NOT BAD, BUT U NEVER KNOW HOW MINT IT ACTUALLY IS I WOULD ASK FOR PHOTOS OF EVERY SPIRE BASE ON THE CROWN AND ALL SO ASK FOR PHOTOS OF THE "FORM" OF THE CROWN (IE HOW WELL ALL THE SPIRES SIT IN RELATIONSHIP TO EACH OTHER ).
IF U CAN GUARENTEE ITS CONDITION , GO FOR IT AS THESE WILL BE WORTH EVEN MORE SOON.
GAT YOUR HELMS ASAP- PEEPS

That sounds about right...

Good thing about it: it is apparently already in the UK, so no extra shipping / VAT / Duties etc.

Getting one from the US, even if slightly cheaper (which I doubt...), will eventually be much more expensive.

If you really want it (and to be prepared to pay so much for such a tiny item, that must be the case), then I suggest you get it. There's no way of telling what offers might come along in the future, maybe you'll get a better offer, maybe you won't. But it'll be worse to pass on this one and not get a better chance than it will be to get this one and then see one go for less.

Better to have the certainty and enjoyment of having a mint crown sitting on your shelf soon than to wait and worry about getting one. Chances of finding one for a significantly lower price seem to be slim anyway.

I don't mean any offense to anyone that likes the Crowns , but I'm a little confused when it comes to their popularity . I recently received the Elessar Crown in the mail and I'm quite glad that it was free , otherwise I would be upset if I even payed $25 for it . If I'm not mistaken , it has to be the smallest thing that Sideshow Weta has ever made , and IMO it is the least attractive . It is one little band of metal that sits kind of patheticaly on its clawed base and is hardly noticable unless you get right up to it(very , very close to it I might add!) . I know the Witch King Crown is definately more detailed than the Elessar Crown and a bit larger , but for the price it demands , it's almost insane(once again no offense) . You can pretty much buy two Saurons for the price of this one tiny little band of spikey metal ! I know that it is a rare item but I don't personally understand how that could justify the extreme price tag . Oh well , I'm just glad that this is one of those items I've never had an interest in , because it leaves me with a large chunk of money in my pocket for a few 1/6 scale statues .

The combination of an extremely low edition size and the fact that it was linked to the medallion program means the Witch King Crown is very rare. But you're right, that in itself doesn't explain the insanely high prices it fetches.
I think that's due to completism (and to a lesser extend the popularity of the Witch King character itself). I assume just about every one of the people that pays the inflated price for this item does it to complete his/her helms collection. And as has been noted, helm's collectors are steadily increasing in number. There's a lot of people wanting this crown as the last helm to complete their set.

Personally I decided as soon as I got into collecting helms that the crown just wasn't in it for me. I can live with that gap in my collection more easily than without the cash it'd cost me. I mean, I'm willing to pay extra for the sake of completism, but not nearly that much.

I agree with you HoS, I couldn't see paying that much for a small helm. I was disappointed in the size of the Elessar crown also. I'm glad it was free. I also don't mean to offend anyone, everyone has their own tastes and interests.

Definitely, a case of being very limited and very rare and very exclusive ... and important enough if you do want a complete helms set.
I would certainly say if you want it, get it now cause I doubt that it will get any easier to buy later on.

All this LE thing is a real fickle business I've decided. We love the low LE numbers, yet when these things come into demand and the prices get driven up, then we say we can't understand why someone would pay that kind of money! :google

elssar crown was definatley a downer
before it turned up i was looking at my 1/6 scale statue and i thenstruck me how small it would be.
i do agree its one of the least impressive helms and it is a good job it was free, but you cant critasise the size (lol)
as it is only a crown and not a helm.if they made it bigger it wouldnt fit with the set.but it does look more like a ring than a crown granted
however the witch king crown is and will be essential to anyone wanting to have a full helm set , hence the massive price hike, remember , they were free to, (would have beeen nice ).
i suppose u could compare it to the price rise of the balrog and c/t, oh and orthanc.
people just want them and they havent been available for years so up goes the price.

Well, my .02 on the WK Crown. I had one and liked it. But I ended
up selling it as I just couldn't justify that high a price tag for
such a small piece. That plus the fact that you get the crown
for "free" if you have the WK Bust made it a no-brainer for me
to part with it, and just look to my WK Bust to see the crown.

To each their own! :peace

But you can justify the HUGE $$$ for the Balrog and or the CT and or the WiKi….. :dunno :dunno

Come on now! Saying I have it already on the bust is like saying why does one want the weapons sets if the statues already have them?? Or why have the WiKi statue if you already have the bust…… :poke :thwak :thwak :thwak

BS! :rolleyes

No brainer for me is holding onto the Balrog and not selling it for $2500+ when you can look at the 2004 Rog!!!! ;)

Yes, the point was made that it is more so to “complete” a helm collection, and yes this is one of the main reasons I did buy mine. But now that I have it, it is NOT going anywhere now and or in the future.!! :banana :hat

I HONESTLY DONT LIKE THE STATUE
I JUST NEVER HAVE
I ONLY HAVE A FEW STATUES C/T, ARCHER (ORC),GIMLI ,STEED AND MORGUL LORD(I PREFER THE MORGUL TO TRUE FORM, I JUST DO!)
THE TRUE FORM STATUE HOWEVER DID LOOK VERY NICE NEXT TO THE MORGUL LORD, BUT I HAD TO MAKE A CHOICE,DUE TO SPACE
AND WHATS GOING ON WITH THOSE FINGURES
ALL WITCH KING TRUE FORM OWNER KNOW WHAT I MEAN.
