WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE.....

After 4 years of collecting all things SS LOTR, what would you have done with your time & money if these 4 years hadn't happened?

Eaten a lot more doritos than normal. (seriously!)


Probably bought more dvds than I have bought.

Also I wouldn't have used my creditcard very much. I may have actually removed it from my wallet and put it somewhere I don't look very often!

If it hadn't been LOTR, it probably would have been Star Wars. But either way, this fool and his money would still have parted.

hmmmm...good question. I probably would have kept collecting the auto'd Topps cards. I would probably have more clothes as well.

Ex. shirt - $30. "Nah, I could use that $30 for a helm, medallion, or add $20 and get a bust." That's how my mind has worked for the past 2 years.

I'd have a bank account with a hell of a lot more in it!

I would have found some other way to waste it. Probably on stuff that loses it's value.

Probably would have upgraded my home theater more and purchased more vintage movie posters to add to my collection.

I always find something to entertain myself with , whether it be collecting something else , picking up a new hobby , upgrading things or , more likely , all of the above , I would have done something to fill the time .

Fortunately however , SSW was there to provide me with something that I will truely cherish for the rest of my life . If you think about it , there are very little of these collectibles out there ... even with some of the higher edition sizes , this stuff is spread out thinly among a very small and fortunate group of fans worldwide . We have all been lucky enough to be around at the right time and at the right ages to have a piece of it . I feel sorry for all the future fans that are either too young to know about this , or are not even born yet . Most of them will likely never have a chance to see any of this , except for maybe in pictures . Not only that , but we were all here to see the movies when they premiered , that is a gift in its own right . I wish I had been old enough to catch the original Starwars when it was released !

As great as North by Northwest is, I think my all time favourite hitchcock movie is Suspicion, with Notorious right behind it. I love those two movies.

And I bet a lot of people haven't seen Notorious. Nor Suspicion. Superb movies.

I really wanna buy them.

But then, I don't think I'd own any posters of them. I wonder if there are any posters of those.

Yes, if I had not bought so many items from Sideshow Weta, I bet I'd own both of Suspicion and Notorious!

Would not have any nerdy collection of stuff, have a lot more money, probably done more work, and wouldn't have the usual "Check out my weirdo husband's obsesion" extravaganza every time guests come over.

Money probably would have gone into my house for improvements - thank God for poly.

What I've actually have done is divert money from other hobbies into this one, so if SSW's LOTR line was not available, the money would have gone towards other collectibles, such as Star Wars and 12" figures. (though it would have been much less money then...)

Probably just had more money in my account and probably would have maybe a few SW items. Its hard to say really what I would have done because this is the path I was put on for a reason. I've gotten to meet so many great people and have so many awesome items from something that has become a part of me. I actually would rather not think of the other side.

My fav is "The Trouble with Harry." Dark comedy at its finest.

To keep things on topic...I would have finished renovating my home.

I think I would have gone on living much the same way I have for the last hundred years...eating, drinking, and enjoying good tilled earth.

Oh..and I think I would have been able to upgrade my hobbit hole by now.

i've only been in the game for about a year now, but wish i would have gotten in at the beginning...

i'd have alot more pieces, that's for sure... like the Balrog, Cave Troll and WitchKing to be sure...

i remember when i had gotten TTT DVD's and saw the insert to buy the Gollum piece... at the time i hesitated, and can still remember seeing the Balrog at the time, but i thought, $300 was alot to spend on a statue...

wow, if i could kick myself in the nuts, i surely would...
