View Full Version : Problem with Hot Toys Endoskeleton

Well, I received my Endo today. Not going to lie, I was so scared to start posing him due to the thin nature of all the joints, wires, fingers, etc. but everything seems pretty sturdy. Problem came when I removed the plastic piece covering the battery connector (clear plastic designed to save battery drain while in storage). Well, the eyes still didn't light up after pulling it off. Do the electronics have a history of problems? Is this figure old enough that the batteries could have run down? How the heck do you get them out to test them? Any help would be appreciated.

Prolly a bad battery, doesn't matter how old it is, new cars break down too.

I would just swap it out for a new battery. They eyes make this figure a 11.

Could be because they aren't touching. Many have had this problem and I did too. Though mine was because they sort of slipped out a little.

I had the same problem when I got mine, I wiggled the batteries around - nothing, I pressed them in tight - nothing! Finally I took both of them out entirely and then put them back in and they worked so I don't think the batteries are neccessarily drained.

Try it.

Theres a thread somewhere (or in a thread somewhere) on how to fix this, I did the trick as well and it works fine. Just take a tiny flat headed screwdriver (eye glass kits come with em) and bend the top and bottom of the metal housing inward a little bit. The problem has to do with the batteries having too much space in between them. Like this:

----------
BATTERY
BATTERY
----------

Just pry the two battery housing metal pieces (indicated in green) up a little and your connection will work.

I had the same problem, and the terminals not touching the batteries was the culprit.
The flathead Eyeglass Screwdriver is the best solution. but I didn't have one so I used the smallest screwdriver I could find and opened up the upper torso and fixed the terminals from the inside out.

I packed the housing out with silver foil :)

I ran into this thread and it turned out to save me money on new batteries. I was just about to go get new batteries. I figured the batteries had drained so the lights wouldn't work but I used a small screw driver and moved the metal contact plates as suggested and it worked perfectly. Thanks. :)

My BD endo had this problem. I'm using a torn off part of a coke can - slid in between the batteries to resolve it.

Check to make sure the batteries were put in there correctly. I was surprised that mine weren't.

Indeed!

I used to have a similar problem with the Battle Damaged Endo in 2007 (the regular was fine from the beginning) and I just added a small piece of aluminum between the 2 batteries and now works fine.

Mine had battery corrosion. I took it out, cleaned the inside and it's all good.

I just purchased the non-battle damaged Hot Toys Endo at ebay a few hours ago and I would like to know, what type batteries is the figure using and does the figure come with batteries or is it sold separately?

They do come with batteries already and should last you a while but if you ever need to replace them just take them out (from his back) and check out the model number on the battery. They are watch batteries and the figure requires 2 of them.

Awesome.. Thanks for that! I'm just hoping now that my HT Endo will reach me in one piece seeing as how I read everywhere that the figure is fragile..

I got it for a bomb price of US$289 incl shipping to Singapore.. It will be my most expensive 1/6 figure yet.. If only I had gotten it when it was first released... How the value has gone up.. I got it from here >>> http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=120356937024

I emailed the seller and he told me that the eyes are able to light up and will come with batteries. Now I just have to hope and pray that it is packed properly and reach me in one piece..

Congrats! :) You'll love it, HT Endo, in my opinion, is the best or at least among the best 1/6 figures ever made.

That's a good seller, got a couple of 1/6 figs from him before and never had a problem.
The price on the Endos has really skyrocketed, I remember when I got my Endo in the middle of 2008, payed around U$S 170 and I thought that was expensive.

The batteries aren't touching the terminal. What I did was just wedge a small piece of tinfoil ("aloo-minum paper" to the Yanks) inbeween the batteries and presto.

So you got figures from the seller before? Thats good to know that you've never had a problem. Hope I get the figure soon in one piece and in the condition as described...

My figure from Ebay just arrived!!! Figure looks fantastic and all the fingers and joints seems to be in place. And the eyes light up really well too!!!! I was really shocked by the figure's weight when I held it. Incredibly light!
