Did you get excited at that title ?
I know I would have ! (if I hadnt written it)
Id love to finish my Jabbas throne enviroment off
With a proper 1:6th SSC scaled version of (without the base) loose figures (and obviously no Salacious)
http://www.bluestardesign.com/images/a1gen/maxrebo.jpg
To that end Im asking if any customisers are interested in a joint venture ? Creating Sculpts and then casting them for interested parties ? Dependant on whose interested and their skill base ?
If you are interested in :
1. Contributing can offer some skills
2. Just the finished article (serious parties only prepared to cough up some financials at the end of possibly a 6 months + project)
Then leave a post !
Also please leave any reference materials - pics etc (ideally a series of orthographic photographs of the above GG statue for reference material if you have it) (orthographic) shot from above and all 4 sides

I wish you the best on this project but I'm sure this is way too ambitious. I'll be curious to see what becomes of it though. I can't imagine the cost.:monkey4

I'll wait for SS to do it since this will undoubtedly be this years SDCC announcement. :monkey3:monkey5

No no. I am asking what YOU would pay to have 1/6 scale Rebo band.
Honestly, if such a thing existed in any decent custom quality it would be easily over $1,000.
People get $40-$50 for a head repaint or head sculpt for crying out loud. What you're looking for is about 10,000 times more work all told.

Yep, expensive. A custom head sculpt alone costs $300 to $500. Three full figures and their instuments = $$$$$$$$

I think I could make a half decent Rebo keyboard from wood and stryo, but considering how much individual work it would take, you're looking at me wanting $200-$300 just for the time and effort and I don't profess to be able to make it in quantity or really high quality for that matter.

I thought Id have a go at Max as he doesnt look that hard to sculpt tbh - a wire frame with milliput (I figured if I thought I could do it then surely some of the talent on here could)
I also didnt think Droopy would be as hard as sy
Im unsure of the logistics just thought they make cool customs (know Id want one)
Price ? figured $70 - $100 a piece if they were of a decent standard
For a limited edition of 20 exclusives !!!!
20 peeps = $1400
So its not undo-able
But then you could always get quotes from artists !

But if you were able to get parties involved that can cut the cost down significantly across the board. I'm not really interested, but I wouldn't give up. Continue to post here, and start a similar thread over at Rebelscum and maybe onesixthwarriors to guage if there is enough interest in the community.
Someone did make a 1/6 Amanaman (sp?) figure, so this is just like 3 of them.

I think there's a chance that SSC might do this. Personally, if I'm going to spend the kind of money it takes to do a decent custom project, I'd rather invest those funds on something I know has very little chance of happening otherwise.

$1400 - that takes care of 1/2 of one sculpt of one character from a pro sculptor.

In the meantime we can all do upgrades to Hasbro's 1:6 Barquin D'an figure.
Also, you do all realize that Hasbro's Rappertunie figure is actually 1:6 scale, right?

Here are Rappertunie's stats from the starwars.com databank:
Homeworld: Manpha
Species: Shawda Ubb
Gender: Male
Height: .3 meter
Affiliation: Max Rebo Band
According to the databank Salacious Crumb is .7 meters tall, so that makes the Hasbro Rappertunie correctly scaled to be .3 meters....

Honestly, I think this is not a realistic project. If you wanted to do it as a one-off custom that you would sculpt yourself, that could be cool. But the costs involved in hiring a pro sculptor to do full-body sculpts for these characters would be very high, and even if you did it, you'd essentially end up with unarticulated statues.

I have no talent to offer. But I would be down for a completed set if the cost could be kept at 1400-1500 dollars and the quality is what I expect from the freaks.

Old post sorry m8 and after the bashing it got as an idea, I decided to drop it, well for the time being
Im holding out hope that SSC will announce some this year - jabba needs some tunes !

I'd definitely buy an officially produced one if it was reasonably priced (i.e. NOT $1500). But I'm afraid that SS is done with Jabba and his minions.
