I know there is probably an old thread about this somewhere but I didn't feel like searching.
This is a great game and is on sale at Best Buy for 39.99 for 360. If you were thinking about this game now is great time to get this.

Yeah, what the F' happened to The God Of War?
Oh, and Assassins Creed is a sweet game, loved the whole sci-fi aspect, and motion capture of Kristen Bell. Hatchi Matchi.
Couldn't help but yell "Dirka, Dirka!" when I killed someone.

This game is bad ass, I am addicted to it! My one gripe is that the missions are a bit repetetive, but they are still cool. Great story, voice acting and graphics make this a 9/10 for me!! :rock

Agreed, the game is fantastic with amazing graphics, great story and controls but the ultimate disappointment is that the missiongs get repetitive. Since UbiSoft is aiming at a trilogy with this IP, perhaps they can fix that for the next game.

Well after playing Assassin's Creed I realized it blows Kratos and God of War out of the water. I can't even compare them....Granted when GoW3 comes out for the PS3 maybe I'll think differently, but AC offered a totally new gaming experience for me. it was like I was somewhere else....another place...another time....beautiful graphics...great interactions....interesting plot/storyline with nice twists. i agree that they could have mixed up the investigation challenges a bit more...they were a bit repetitive...but that was a very minor complaint for me. Near the end when you go to the middle districts of the cities...with all the people, beggars, drunks...that was interesting. When I got really frustrated with drunks blowing my cover when they bumped into me, I resorted to running around the city killing them all to let off steam....sadly they didn't stay gone but it was still fun. Finding all the flags is kinda frustrating...I like to fully complete a game...so now that I have finished the game, and killed all the templars I'm running around the cities killing annoying people and trying to find all the flags. I've created my own mini games....how many citizens can I kill without getting noticed. :lol Makes it a bit more interesting as I try to find those darn flags. Anyway, really looking forward to the sequel. I also heard that studios were looking into making this a movie. I also heard that about GoW and that didn't happen....but this has a very intriguing plot that could make for a good script.

Well after playing Assassin's Creed I realized it blows Kratos and God of War out of the water...
Now, I don't know about that! :D They are two different types of games, GoW is strictly an action game, while AC is plot driven and investigations allow you to advance. In terms of fun factor, i'd say that God of War is more fun, Assassins Creed is more interesting and the story engulfs you the further you go.

I agree GoW is fun...a lot of fun...i've played it several times....but as you said, AC really engulfs you. I've played it through twice...and I still am enjoying it just running around exploring all the areas....causing trouble....even though the game itself has ended (i've completed all the missions) I can still have fun doing my own thing. granted that will probably get a little old after awhile...but if I had to choose between the 2 which game I enjoyed the most and really hooked me in, it would be AC. Most games I play I can finish in one to two days....the only exceptions being RE4 and now AC. (woops and the Final fantasy games) I like that....I like playing a game that takes time and challenges me more mentally than just mashing buttons like GoW. I still love GoW...don't get me wrong and I'm also really looking forward to GoW3....but I like AC better. :)

I know I'm gonna take some heat for this, but; I REALLY think That once Again, Ubisoft Dropped the ball here. This game could of been PEREFECT with one or two Minor tweaks. Granted, It is a great game, and easily one of the best releases of Q4, and I do like it, but It could of been MUCH better. Things i would of changed
1) Make buildings more than just static obsticles. it would of been nice to bee able to go inside EVERY one of them. i know that sounds like alot of work, but from a design standpoint, cgrating an interior for the buildings is not that complicated, especialy considering the buildings are somewhat repetitive and simple in design ( Note, i'm not bashing the designers here, rather I'm refering to the period archatecture of the game, houses in this period were very Basic) This could of provided some fascinating chase cequences even more impressive than those we were already given.
2) Give us a few more options for investigations. i would of liked to been able to interagate someone by knocking them out, dragging them to a rooftop, and then dangleing them over the edge. Just an example, but it gets VERY repetitive, just Beating someone, eavsesdropping, and pickpocketing them.
3) give the players less inforation when they arrive. Don't even tell us where to start looking for information, just check in with the bureo, and start the hunt. Let everyone there have more static dialoge, and let the player interact with more of the generic npc's. Make us think a bit more. This does two things for me. One, this makes the game a little harder, and two, this would, in my opinion take some of the repition out of it.
On the up sde, Ubisoft seems to generaly have tried to bring us a fantastic game, I'm certian they will listen to their customers as such, and make dramtic improvents for the next one. :)

Jen, have you played the Prince of Persia games?
no I have not.....you recommend? there are so many games I've never heard of. :lol I just ended up playing the same ones over and over....or see something on sale and decide to try it out. I did that with Shadow of the Colossus and ended up hating it....found it very boring...but I may give it another try. Also did that with RE4 and GoW which I ended up loving. I don't check any gaming sites so I don't really know what the latest games are or the favorites. i tend to go by target or GameCrazy every few weeks or so and just see what they have....then buy what seems up my alley.

Well then I DEFINITELY need to check it out...thanks for the heads up Batty. :D :rock
Another thing I really like about AC is the music. It's so great....I've been looking for downloads of it and have only found 2 from Jerusalem....wish they had the others...I especially love the song that plays when you are riding from the Assassin headquarters towards the Kingdom. They should sell it...I would buy it anyway....or it would have been cool if it was included in a Limited Edition or Exclusive release. If anyone knows where you can download other tracks from the game, please let me know. :)
I have it sitting on my shelf, need to pop it in and play one day.
For anyone interested in the Assassin's Creed figure there is a cheap 7 inch by Neca or a very nice 12 inch made by Ubisoft that Toynk is selling for $60. I just bought the Ubisoft one (I was very disappointed with the figure Neca made of Kratos from God of War) and will post pics when I get it. :D
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u77/jlklord/ubi11190395874778.jpg
And I found almost all the songs from the game as well as the kick ass cello song from the trailer. If anyone wants links let me know. :)

Yeah,I actually played it a little when I first got it.I got to the part in the beginning were you fall off that cliff into the bale of hay and have to tip-toe across those ropes and climb some wall. But then I stopped playing and everytime I went to turn my Xbox 360 on,all I wanted to play was Halo 3 online.Oh and it is a lot of fun.But I dont know if you into first person shooters,if you are then this would be the best one ever made in my book.I have'nt been able to play a whole lot of anything until now.I put Halo in today and played two online games,I didn't do too bad.I got 11 kills on my first match and 13 on the second.I say that's not bad for someone who just had two surgeries on his right arm.But my hand couldn't take all that movement,it starting hurting a little.I guess I am gonna have to play Assassins Creed, atleast for the next week or two.Assassins is a little... easier on the hand.:lol

Boy then you didn't get very far at all. :lol That's like in the first 15 minutes of the game. :lol It does sound like AC will be easier on the hands....until you get towards the end. Some of those last battles when you are fighting around a dozen Krusaders at once can require some fast finger moving....got to have good defense (the counter moves saved me countless times) as well as offense to get past those ones. First person shooters are fun...I don't have too many of them of them though. I don't have an XBox360 though and don't really see myself getting one so I'll be missing out on all those games. Still haven't even decided if I'm going to do any PS3 online games....I enjoy playing on my own.

I don't have this game yet, but I recommend "Kingdom of Heaven" on Blu-Ray for anyone interested in the time period. While not historically accurate, it is beautifully shot, scored, has great battle scenes, and good performances all the way around.

Funny you should say that...I just ordered a copy from Amazon last night. :rock :rock I didn't care for the original release, but the director's cut is a huge improvment and I actually enjoyed that version immensely.

You're girlfriend sounds awesome Dante! :rock :rock Glad to hear she's rockin' the AC!!! :D The only thing I don't like about the game is that you can't save more than one game....so a sadly a second person couldn't play the game until the first person is done. I've played it through a couple times and have had to delete my previous game so I could start a new one. Doesn't matter much since I'm the only one playing, but for others who are sharing the system that could be a problem.

Yeah, I couldn't believe how butchered the theatrical release was. I only had it on my PSP, and recently picked up the Blu-Ray (director's cut) version on one of Fry's BOGO sale.
I was blown away how much better the film was with the added scenes, and better character development.

Yes, you did recommend it. :) I'd also read quite a bit about it as well and saw the trailer...and decided it would be a game that I would enjoy. Now it is the ONLY game I play. :lol I never tire of it...going on round 4 now....I keep missing a few things....one day I'll play through and get everything...flags...Templars, etc... This time I'm writing down where I find things, so that way I'm not running around like crazy trying to track down the last remaining flags.

Got one of the action figures for a friend and they love Altair. Yes, this game is unbelievable but in defense of God Of War, Kratos would destrominate Altair at a game of hoops. Just my opinion anyway...

Well its good that so many people like this game I however was not as impressed with it as everyone else. The game suffers from massive repetition, also the second you get the counter kill the game takes a narrow dive into the no fight is even remotley a challenge as long as I equip hidden blade and one hit kill everyone. It was decent, didnt totally suck, but I dont see what all the praise is about. I run, jump and run and jump some more. God of War is a better game at the end of the day.

Just finished the game...definitely opens it up for a sequel but it was a rather lackluster ending. We'll see where it goes from here now.
When I look back on the game, I really think the repetitive gameplay is the thing that sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It's a great game and all, but I don't think it deserved some of the high reviews it got (mostly the ones rating it 9/10...it's an 8/10 to me AT THE MOST). If they do continue with a sequel then I hope they take the gameplay into account and add MUCH MORE variety because it really is a beautiful game and I'm interested to see where it is going now...

Just wondering for those playing the PS3 version of the game, I had heard of freezing issues with the game. I've seen the PS3 system software update of 2.10. Does anyone have that loaded and did it fix the problems? The other one I heard of was the Assassin's Creed patch 1.10. Same thing with me...and downloading the patch was easy....infact the PS3 does it automatically if you have it hooked up to your modem/router. After the patch was downloaded I had zero problems. :)

Thanks for the replies, Bardoon and Jen. The patch that you downloaded, was it the software system update v2.10?
I believe it was...I wasn't really paying attention...I just know that once I hooked up my PS3 to my modem and put in the game it downloaded and installed the latest update...so I am assuming that would be it. :)
Does anyone know how long this game is? Because I got to Jerusalem the other day and I'm starting to loose interest in just taking on these assassin missions.
This game can be very long if you do all the missions and try to find all the flags/Templars....I think my third time around I played it for roughly 60+ hours and got everything except 2 flags. You don't have to do all the missions....after you do a few (like the eavesdropping and pickpocketing) it will let you know that you can go to the headquarters place and start your main assassin mission....what I really like about this game is you can make it as short or as long as you want it. I always rode through the Kingdom to my destinations (after you hit each city once you can go straight there) and I liked trying to find all the extras, save all the people, do the time trials with the informers, etc... You go to Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus a total of 3 times each (each time hitting a different area of the city...poor, rich, middle). The middle district has a lot of beggars, drunks and crazies...plus a ton more people walking around. You are pretty much on red alert and have to be very careful not to get bumped or the guards will come running after you. Then after you do that you go to one more destination to try and meet up with King Richard....then it's back to the Assassin Headquarters in the first town you start off in for the final battle.
Got my Assassin's Creed figure yesterday. The lighting sucks and it was really hard to get a pic of his face because of the hood...it turned out very blurry so I won't even bother posting it. If I remember in the morning, I'll try to take better pics....but here are two for now. The paint apps are nice...it's not poseable...but he's in a good pose. :)

Still waiting for mine. What would rate the fig as?
On a scale of 1-10...probably an 8-8.5. If it was poseable, 9.5. :) It really does look nice, I've just never had a figure quite like this one....it's total plastic..PVC..and this is my first figure made of that material. Not sure if I like it...but it works pretty well for this figure...it has nice detail and the paint job is very good. No blemishes at all.

Thanks for the info, Jen. I don't know if I can even set up my PS3 online right now. I currently connect to the modem with USB as the motherboard doesn't have a ethernet card slot. So, I wonder if it would still work if I connect an ethernet cable to the modem, then to the router and then another ethernet cable from the router to the PS3...

Like Jen said, there's side things to do. But ultimately this is where the game really loses steam is its repetitive nature...you'll be doing the SAME thing and following the SAME ways for the assassination missions.
The game is supposed to be a trilogy so hopefully Ubisoft will work better on the next one. I was the same way in which I got bored of the missions to the point where I would do about 2 missions and then stop playing for a 2-3 weeks...I just beat the game last week cause I was getting bored as well.

I have my PS3 connected by an ethernet cable directly to my router (my modem only has one ethernet output and that goes directly to the router. So what you are doing, is exactly how I have mine set up and it works great. :D

Looking back, now that I haven't played the game in a couple weeks, I can see how it could get boring and repetitive. As I said earlier, I played this game through 4 times back to back....but to break it up a bit, one time through I tried killing as many people as possible (including civilians) without getting caught...another time through I only killed the few guards taunting the civilians that you rescue (none of the ones that might have turned up during the fight...only the original ones) and only the main assassin target...none of his bodyguards or city guards....that made it a bit more interesting. Like pretty much everyone else, I hope Ubisoft offers a more diverse gaming experience with the sequel.....mix up the side missions more so they aren't always the same....but regardless, I still really loved this game. :)

Yeah, the game is really cool an beautiful to look at,but it just feels like it's missing 1 or 2 things.

Thanks again for the help, Jen. Come to find out, my computer actually does have an ethernet port, so I got all that sorted out. My router is wired, so can I use any ethernet/CAT 5 cable to hook up the PS3 to the router or does it have to be the one that came with the PS3?

I bought a used PS3 that came with no cables. I picked up a cheap ethernet cable at RadioShack and I've had no problem. I don't know about a CAT 5 cable though....I think for getting it online, only an ethernet will work....but I really don't know...because as well as not getting any cables/controllers with my PS3, I also did not get any instructions. :lol
Looking at a pic of a CAT 5 cable...is it an ethernet cable?? It looks the same as what I have...I'm really not computer/tech savvy. :lol :lol

Yes basicly they are the same. It mostly has to do with the max length a cable can be. Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7 any of them will do what you need.

Yay, I got it all set up. It turned out that my router was wireless, too. I ended up getting the updates through the wireless connection setup. Thanks for the help! :D

Well, I received the fig today. Stated everywhere it was a 12" figure. It's only 10"-1/5 scale. I'm disapointed but the fig will still be good for making a
6th scale. I really wanted one for posing next to my Ignite knights.
