View Full Version : Sideshow 1:1 Terminator Endoskeleton - Combat Model
Hi folks, I'm a long time reader but I only recently signed up! I got my 1:1 Combat Veteran Endo recently and I thought some of you might like to see it. I've been writing about it for some weeks now over at the Statueforums (hi guys!)
There's a long story to this, involving useless couriers, lots of phone calls and a lot of patience, but for now on to the pics!

I take it you like it then? ;-D
I would definitely recommend getting one - although the shipping to Ireland was quite steep - $2000 and then another $2200 getting it through customs. That was fun, trying to explain what a "Combat Veteran Exoskeleton" was.
Although if you're in the US you get free shipping! (Possibly Canada too, not sure)

It took a while to get everything unpacked, the base took two people to lift, it weighs a ton! (not literally of course!)
But the actual putting it together only took 15 mins. I needed help holding the torso up while the bolt got tightened up, and help putting the thighs onto the shins, but that was it. The arms just slot in and get held with pins.
Then you just plug him into the mains and fire him up!

$4200 for shipping and cutoms? Wow, how much did this think cost if you don't mind me asking?
and yes I LOVE IT!!!!!

After all was said and done it came to €7025, which converts to roughly $10,300 USD. I really got hammered on shipping. They need to send a few of these over to the EU warehouse!

I dunno - maybe they're worried they won't sell or something... and as far as I know they're made to order so it's possible they don't carry much stock at any one time.

it may have been cheaper to fly to Sideshow in California, put it together and buy a ticket for it and you for the return flight....as long as it could carry it's base with it. :lol
congrats on the awesome collectible!

Congratrulations on acquiring such a beautiful display piece, this is my ultimate grail piece :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2 As an exhibition piece of Sci-Fi cinema in 1:1 there is nothing more impressive than a Endoskeleton, in my opinion at least.
UK customs would be just as brutal as they are in Ireland so Sideshow really should have a small number of these shipping from EU distributors.

What if someone in England ordered one and they shipped it from Kent? (That's where the warehouse is)
Who would swallow the customs fees in that case, or how would that work out?
Would SS just pay it when it comes into the country initially and that would be it? I don't think they'd try to recoup it by passing it on to the customer.

Yea I really do want to click the hell out of that order button. If I did, I would have to get it shipped to a friends house in the US, I feel your pain in getting stuffed at the border for just about every fee they can throw at you when you get something shipped internationally. I live in Canada, where the Goverments Motto is "If youre not paying 100% of your paycheque in taxes, you should be!"
:lol
I bought a few things and weeks later I was still getting Bills in the mail.

I feel a Johnny Cash tune coming on... "I took it 1 piece at a time, and it didnt cost me a dime...." :D :D
But seriously, I know if I bought something like that I will end up having to pay 14% in taxes at the border which would come out to about 840 bucks more. I very highly doubt I could weasel that thing across the bridge without them noticing :D
Or I could BS them and say it cost me 1000 bucks or something, but knowing my luck they would find out and I would have to pay double the fees on what I didnt declare plus a fine. (I know somebody that has happened to)
Like you said, its an investment, If you buy one youre never gonna have to sell it for less than you paid for it. One that Solidsnake seen in Toronto was sold for 10,000. Not a bad return on your money, I would never sell something like that though. Thats the ideal centerpiece for any movie room.

Damn... no small, quiet backroads you could use!!?
I know what you mean about not selling it, I never would; it's going to go in the home theatre (whenever it gets built!) but a friend saw it today for the first time and suggested I could hire it out to shops or whatever as a display piece to put in their windows, but I'd be terrified of it getting damaged.

Amazing Item, I hope you're as happy with it,( As I imagine I would be, if I owned one) sounds like you are... I think your friend's idea is great, but I would be affraid of damage as well!
So does the statue have any moving parts/articulation to alter the pose at all?

Cheers bud!
Well the gun arm moves left and right through roughly 40 degrees, but not up and down. The other arm doesn't move at all. The head also rotates through roughly 45 degrees or so. That's about it unfortunately! I was hoping he would be a bit more posable but no luck :-(

I'd have been awesome if you the torso could rotate as well, like the opening shots of T2 after the first endo crushes the skull!
But atleast there is some movement!
