looks like the one on the right in both pictures has been displayed in the sun for a month or two. probably in a REALLY well sun-lit room, sunlight hitting it from many angles.

I don't have to say it, but I am thinking- hmm.. I wonder if this will tempt Jim. <img border=0 src="https://www.maxwellsgoldenhammer.com/emo/help.gif" /> <img border=0 src="https://www.maxwellsgoldenhammer.com/emo/dance.gif" />

I'll take the one on the left thank you...8o

...but yes...one is dull one is bright...weird

I think the flash from the camera makes them look different. In reality they might look exactly the same.

The one on the right looks like it has a bigger shield and the one on the left seems to have more armour at the back...the red armour.

the sword on the left seems longer, same with the shield.

might be a new sculpt after they threw away the first mold???

The detail and paint job for the right is very much better that the one on the left.Think most of the swordsman statue on the market is the one on the left, anyone here had a swordsman that look like the right and the base peg is square one.:help

I would take the one on the right in the top pic. Looks like there was more time spent on the paintjob and it has a better weathered effect.

...fine, all of you can share the one on the right....gimmi the left :|

Come on admit that one of these is a custom paint job! :lol

They look very different and I don't believe SSW would send out variants THAT different.

Maybe i am quite agree with dayhiker1,might be a new sculpt after they threw away the first mold.
Think the one on the left is a new and the right is the old one.

The one on the right has a different paintjob. I'm not sure if its the case with this one, but when I got a replacement for my Fell Beast statue, the paintjob was much brighter and stronger. This piece might simply be a new cast for a damaged one. And to prevent a breakage, they put on a thicker paintlayer. I could be mistaken, but they did that with my Fell Beast.

To what i see,the one on the right detail is much better than the one on the left.
I have orc archer and UH swordsman, the base peg is square one,but the one on the left is round, kind of:eek :eek :eek

To what i see,the one on the right detail is much better than the one on the left.

Then I'm pretty damn sure the one on the left was meant as a replacement for a broken one. When I received my broken Fell Beast, the detailing on it was breathtaking. The paintjob was dull but real looking. On the replacement, the details were almost obliterated because of the thick layer of paint they had applied. It was very bright and shiny aswell. Similar to your case it seems.

I still have the pictures I made of it. The left one is the replacement. The right one is the broken one.

A layer of acrylic paint won't strengthen anything. It's only 1 millimeter thick, if that much.
