The Fellowship is now complete

Pippin just got here about 10 mins ago. Its a very nice piece I really like it. (I know no shock there) It looks as good as it did at SDCC when compairing it to the AP that the had at the show. The Gondorian design on it is so well done and one of my personal faves as well. His chainmail is also pretty well done as is his sword. The base with a piece of MT on it is very very cool. Overall, its a really nice piece and I am so glad to now have all 9 members of the Fellowship.

The number I recieved was 7/2000.

Yeah, I about fell on the floor when I saw that number. By far the lowest one I have ever gotten.

He is my first hobbit!!!!! He is cool, though seeing him in person for the first time I can now say a fellowship Pippin would have been much more fitting. Or even A Guard of the Citadel Pippin that wasn't quite so..... out there. Had the Battle Troll been proper scale to go as a companion piece, it would have been perfect, but as it stands... its kinda a strange pose for a stand alone piece. Having said that, I get that Pip was scared and not accustomed to War... it just seems like an odd representation.

Also, the likness is no better in person.

Having said all that, i still like the piece. the detail is great, the base is cool (though I don't feel that Pip rests on it all that firmly..) and i am just so happy to have a Hobbit in my collection finally!!

Congrats L4!! Yeah, a hobbit clothed Pippin probably would have fit in with what the others look like but this one is cool cause ROTK is when he really shines. The likeness is ok its not the best but I do see BB in it as much as I actually see Dom in the Merry statue. The BT still makes a nice companion piece though your right the scale is not what it needs to be to make them perfect but I think we can get around that. Anyways, its a very nice piece as you said and I'm just glad my #1 goal when I found out about SSW is not complete and my Fellowship can now be displayed together when I get the proper display cabinet.

Congrats. But IMO this is not a fellowship statue just as Gandalf the White isn't. I still can't understand why Pippin and Sam weren't done like the other hobbits. I cancelled this when the Predator went up for order.

yeah, i don't know that I'll ever display my "Fellowship" as I don't really have a desire to get Strider, Legolas or Gimli as I will already have King Elessar, A@TBG and L&GonA.... plus, the Strider and Legolas statues are not the greatest imo. Maybe at the end when I have everything else I may pick them up just because.. but until then I will be displaying GoSF, A@TBG and L&GoA together while the four hobbits GTG and Boromir will be together

I'm only aiming for the 3 hunters, and the Gandalf and Frodo pair. And I have 4 of those five, plus Boromir so I might not keep boromir unless a Faramir statue just happens to.. appear.

L4- if I wasn't already owning the first Aragorn (and loving it) and owning Gimli too, I would go the same route as yourself, with Gimli & Legli on horseli.

Well, I guess it depends on if you look at them only being the fellowship in certain parts of the Trilogy. I think most would be of the mind set they are still the Fellowship during the whole course of the Trilogy. Thats how I choose to look at it based on how I feel their actions showed.

Your more than welcome. I try to share my pics when I take ones that look decent and these didn't come out too bad. Not great but not the worst I've taken. Really, its a good piece if I had one tiny complaint its th inside of his mouth is maybe a tad too dark red.
