I built the bases myself out of 3/4" MDF (they weigh a TON), and I custom ordered the Plexi-glass tops from the same company that Sideshow uses for their booth displays. The plexi is 3/8", and was fairly expensive, but well worth it, I think.

The plexi tops were manufactured by a company in Chatsworth, CA-Dekker Design Plastic Fabrication. I used 3/16" Museum Quality Acrylic.
