SSF vs GGC Halo 3 Tourny

Well I figure this deserves it's own thread (and can hopefully be stickied by a Mod).

We need 8 guys to go against the 8 they have lined up. It looks like we will be playing on a Friday or Saturday night. I would like to get at least 10 names down in case some can't make it.

Though we will be facing another board, please keep in mind that this is just a friendly competition. While I expect it to be competitive (you all know how I play :monkey3), I would like to keep it civil as well. Trash talking is welcome, but keep it clean and don't be a ^^^^. Some of you have shown an interest in this tourny in the other thread and now it's time to back up those words with some kick ass play.

Reserves are in no particular order. I'd feel bad if we didn't use reserves that regularly play with us but it's hard to choose when you have 20 people and 8 slots.

I think it would be a lot of fun to play in a tournament one day, but my Halo skills are so poor that I would be a huge hindrance to any team I might join, lol. Is there a way for a neutral player to run around the battlefield and cheer you on?

I think you need a good mix of people who rush in and people who "cherry pick". There are a lot of players who sit back and take advantage of other firefights and spring in and get easy kills and don't die as much. If there was no one rush in and starting those fights then they cherry pickers wouldn't have anyone to pick off for easy kills! :lol

Yea, I usually rush in kill 1 or 2, and then some punk assault rifles me in the back from a mile away while my shield is recharging.....

Everyone is a reserve. I initially started with 8 and 4 because we always seem to have about 12 people playing. Didn't expect to get this many people to sign up.

I would like to have our starting 8 be taken from our solo rankings we did for our team tourny. That seems to be the fairest way of picking players without hurting anyone's feelings.

I'd love to get Yippee in here since he's our best player. I'll update the 'starters' list and everyone else is a reserve. If you want, I'll keep a running tally of reserves as well.

I've learned as well. When I throw my controller, I make sure to throw it into the couch. The worst that happens is the battery pack pops off.

Kit, just recover your gamertag from xbox live on Loki's 360. Then you can play splitscreen. It sucks though, because it doesn't keep it the full size of the screen, shrinks it down a lil bit.

I think that was my fault. A minute into that game, it started getting really weird for me. I'd wail on someone who could apparently not see me.I'd shoot him for a while and nothing. It was like I was there but I wasn't. :frodo

Long story short, something got stupid with my connection. When I saw that it was in the red and that others were seeing screwy stuff, I knew I was the cause and dropped out.

I think it's a riot if they point out the last match too where we kept falling dead out of the blue and couldn't respan for 2 min and then fell dead right away agin. Then of course shooting the **** out of them and hitting them from behind to watch them NOT die and then we fall dead out of the blue again.

I also don't think that night was a fair show either, we didnt have 3 of our best guys, the other half didnt show and there was lag pretty bad a some times.

It's still all supposed to be fun, but I think with us planning a match more than 1 day before and also starting a little earlier and picking match and games ahead of time, we can get a better shot at all 8 GGCers for the whole time and a 8 SSFers at the same time, then plan a set amout of X games and see who comes out on top then.

Mixing like we did the first few games was fun, but it cant be counted into wins and loses, and we also had members drop 2 out the 4 games we lost so it was 8 on 7 and there also a game where I think we had one more than you, so it was a good start and fun but I don't think it reflected well on either side the true teams.

You're right that it's supposed to be fun. I think my beef was his "we clearly won" type statements that ticked me off. I am not even one of our good players, but still.

One Territory game was a tie so how they won 4 of 8 is beyond me. Not to mention that last match will put the K/D ration WAY in their favor since half our team ( at least half ) couldn't respawn and died right away when we did w/o even seeing anyone near us. That last match was a joke.
