Judging from that pic, I don't see anything so spectacular paint wise that couldn't survive the production process. (as long as they fired the Faramir Factory).

I don't know it always seems that when sideshow head molds come out from the factory that the paint applied is way to thick and takes away a lot of the details.

I may be wrong, but looking a the bottom of the neck I think this might be a new body. I don't notice the flat line that is typically present in other figures sporting the buck.
Possibly its a fixed neck, with ball jointed head? Although that wouldn't be the same sculpt we saw awhile back. Unless the chopped off the neck? What do you guys think?

Let's face it. Sideshow could get almost a Hot Toys price for this and none of us would blink. It's still a better deal (and a better sculpt) than the Toys McCoy figure.

mostly due to lighting and the more subtle mustache of the digital paintup. If light doesn't catch Ford's upper lip, he goes wonky. ( by upper lip I mean the whole area between his nose and mouth.
We chopped the neck too, so that comes into play. the neck tapered too much before because of the Buck body attachment, but it did address the look of how the muscles run up to Ford's head (the sternomastoid muscles) the sacrifice will be worth it for a more poseable head.
Trev
I just watched Raiders and Temple tonight at work, and I was really thinking about how cool it would be if they gave him the gloves. :clap

Looks pretty nice so far, I like the attention to detail on the outfit. Seems like SSC went a little above and beyond on the tailoring. glad to see Indy has his gloves which is definitely a Raiders trademark. Now only if he came with both of his guns that would be over the top! Also I wonder how he would look with his fedora slightly lowered? Also hair looks a tad red, but that's the SW fan in me coming out. But over all I am pumped!

I agree, the Sovereign Studios jacket is a very nice one, I'm using it on one of my Indy customs. It fits on the body more realistically than the leather ones, but then...there's nothing like a good OLD weathered leather jacket. There are GREAT characteristics about both jackets that are unique onto themselves, that's why I had to get both versions.

The headsculpt - fantastic. The fedora - exactly right. But the jacket....
The idea of a real leather jacket on a 1/6 scale figure sounds really cool, but that waxed cotton looks about a million-billion times more realistic in terms of texture and scale. If this guy is taking names for customs, I'd pay at least $100 for just the jacket and consider it a bargin compared to what I paid for my Toys McCoy Indy (another real leather jacket (woo hoo) that looks like a big winter parka.) And no matter how hard you try to weather those leather jackets, in a thousand years you'll never get the folds and wrinkles to look anywhere near that good.....

SS's jacket fits great, I just don't like the material.

The SS jacket is fine overall a bit too new looking but I'm not gonna pay $100 for a jacket. I'll take this Indy and be very very happy about how kick ass it looks.

Yeah, that Sovereign jacket is the single best customized Indy jacket EVER MADE. I will never get over that. He did fantastic work on that.

It does look fantastic, but totally unrealistic to have a mass produced fig have something that good.
On a totally side note, I do hope that Indy is done as an Inclusive and not exclusive! Perfect exclusive: the little idol from scene 1 of Raiders!

It's all a matter of taste, I suppose... "Good enough" just isn't good enough when there is "perfect" out there. I'm willing to pay for perfect.

SS is trying to hit a certain target and some times things must be sacrificed. Good on ya if you're willing to pay for perfect, Im only willing to pay what I can afford and perfect ain't it.

With GTG coming in at $90, maybe their won't be as many price sacrifices.

Bingo! If I paid for perfect on every piece I wouldn't be able to afford ****. So please pardon me for being willing to take the very good job SS did and buy a few more Indy items down the road.

Yeah, I suppose it'd be almost impossible to mass produce a jacket like that anyway. Have to be done all by hand, I would think. Probably pretty time consuming.... Still be willing to pay for that upgrade, though!

Do we have a PPO date yet?
Is it the Tuesday 'Adventure' PPO?

Where is all the cool Sideshow toyfair stuff? No Indy - no talk of new bodies, no star wars to think of aside from a bust....kinda a letdown so far!
