Got Vlad...Question

Hey all-

How am I supposed to hang this scabbard? It's very different in the pictures on the box than it appears to be tied in reality.

I just don't know what to do with this string and ring....

The prototype had it rigged differently. I thing the string is too short to hang it like the prototype and I think initially the ring was supposed to hold the two sides of the string together, but the string so short it can't do that and still have it go around Vlad's shoulder. I'll probably replace the string as soon as I can find something better.
