Can't wait to get one of my own! I hope DID continue with this series with soldiers from each of the major participants.

I picked him up - haven't unboxed it yet, but he looks great. Wish Dragon would have done more than one Napoleonic.

That's one sweet figure. I wish I knew where to get, or if they are available round these parts.

It's a Modeler's Loft Exclusive I guess - so that would be the place to start. But everyone at the show was selling them.

That's a very nice looking figure. :drool
Dave, how did they make the embroidered roping on the jacket? Is it a silk screened image, or is it an embroidered patch?

It's actually embroidered. Not perfect, but a damn good job. I have the same uniform from Cotswald and this one blows it away.

I deboxed him, not too hard to put together, they aren't above using velcro where it's convenient (as in the spats). I just might get back into military if DiD keeps up with this line.

Oh that sounds soo cool!
That's the one thing that disappointed me about the Redcoat from sideshow, I was hoping it would be some type of embroidery not a picture of the embroidery.
I really want this figure, I just can't afford one right now.
If anyone here is looking for a reliable place in the US that carries this figure, The Monkey Depot just put some up for order.

look for it down the news page. It's $54.95.

I put one on order as soon as I stumbled upon him. He will go well with my Cotswold Highlander. Here's hoping that they don't just stop there as there are sooooo many Napoleonic dolls that I'd love to have.

Rabbit, one word of warning. I've heard many the nightmarish tale that these have extremely breakable accessories. Just about everyone that has got one of these has broken something, Manny trying to get the bayonet out of the packaging.
Be Verwy Verwy careful Rabbit!

Thanks for the warning, Screamingmetal. In actual fact I got him in on Friday. I haven't opened him yet, but I can see that there is lots to like and dislike about him. With the scarcity of Napoleonic figures I figger that beggars can't be choosers though.

I'm fairly easy on my toys as I have small, childlike hands and a light touch. Even with that tragedies can occur:

This is the Ignite musket from the French Guards figure. He had been in storage in his box and I read elsewhere of this happening. I checked on him and sure enough this is what occurred. Fortunately Ignite was very kind enough to replace the musket with a new one. But there is no guarantee that this will not happen to the replacement in time.

I'm still on the edge of my seat awaiting my Greek Hoplite. Once again there are joys and disappointments in him. His tunic is probably Norse. His greaves and sandals are Roman. The rest looks like they will more than make up for these small annoyances.

TTFN,

:lol It looks like Ignite needs to put some Viagra in their plastics. Did you have to provide a photo to show what happened to yours? I had a piece on a Hot Toys Rifle break once right out of the package, and I had to mail the rifle back to them (Toys2.net) in order to get my replacement. It went smoothly though and got my replacement so enough.
I'd love to buy the Greek Hoplite and the Hot Toys Wetsuit SEAL right now but I have to save Money for those damned Sideshow SDCC exclusives. :(

Screamingmetal, Ignite took my word upon it and required no photographs or return of the damaged product. The correct musket at the top of the photo is the replacement.

got my Highlander at WOH and he's really great. I really wish Sideshow would "up" the quality on their uniforms. DiD can produce the Highlander for the "collector" market for $55 so why can't SST do a similar quality figure if they're aiming for that same market for a few extra bucks? The quality on many of SST's uniforms isn't just "ok" is really bad. I still have a couple of old SOTW Revolutionary war uniforms that are almost the equal of SST uniforms. I've passed on so many SST military figures becuase they just aren't worth the $ compared to what DiD, Dragon, bbi etc make. I'd understand more if they were looking to mass market the figures and had to distribute through a middeman like Toys R Us, but they don't have to make that deal anymore and most of these figures don't have to be licensed like the movie/tv figures so they're not as expensive to make in that way either. If SST will improve the quality of uniforms and accessories my interest will skyrocket
