I'd always been faintly disappointed that the SS Western figures couldn't wear their sidearms down on their hips like in the movies. Last night The History Channel had a documentary - "Wild West Tech" that went into detail about firearms and other things, including how guns were worn in the Old West. It was very enlightening and went into a lot of detail. And Doc and Wyatt from the OK Corral dramatic re-creation were dressed just like the SS figures!

Yes, there's a big difference between how it actually was done, and how it's pictured in movies.
Speaking of the Wild West, I wonder (hope) SS puts out sme western and military saddles for all those cowboys and cavalrymen they've produced.
As Me..Me...Mel Tillis would say, "Well I got the hoss if you got the saddle".

I'd really like a 1/6 scale horse thats not too small, like the ones I bought from Blue Box, and not too big, like the one I saw, I think it was from Dragon, it was more like a Clydesdale.
If you have one, could you tell us who makes them, please.

I don't think BBi makes horses, but there are some Power Team horses that I know some people have been using. I don't have any but apparently they're bigger than Marx horses but smaller than Blitz from Dragon. I doubt SSC will be doing horses, I just don't see it as something they'd do, but you never know.

Well that is not entirely true, I went through a photo book at a leather shop that I buy my supplies from, it showed vintage gun and holster rigs, along with saddles setups. The average cowhand had holster rigs setup similar to the Sideshow did the Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday, playing on the old western movie "Shane", as in that movie he wore his guns just below the belt line of the waist, but in this leather book on gun holsters, it showed vinage holster rigs that were used by real gunfighters, not only did it show double pistol rigs, it had crossdraw and dropleg rigs, it even had photos of Mexican Bandit rigs and ammo belts. It was a really cool book and was not for sale, when I pick up leather supplies I always go through it again for reference material. The biggest thing that really hits your eye, is that the holsters were fairly large, and very pancake looking, they did not have the classic look that Hollywood gave them. I have owned both the Earp and Holiday figures, the fact is that the holsters were so high on the figure, and the gun barrel lengths were to a point, that he had to have his hands above his shoulders for the gun barrel to clear the holster, which was flat out not correct.
That is why I made my own holsters
