I logged in last night to see Frank Black replaced by the Washington figure, and my oh my does he look nice.
Unfortunately a friend decided to barge in at the very moment they started making detailed shots so I missed all of those :(
Hope someone saved them...

It is a very nice figure. We are becoming accustomed to wonderful tailoring in figures of this calibre. Sideshow are capturing the embelished costuming wonderfully. It is a draw card for me. You can't get this in a figure that doesnt have the substance. e.g Maxwell Smart has a plain suit. That is not Max's fault.
There were some nice close up pics, provided by the industrious Dusty. I still wonder about the difference between the exclusive and the regular, concerning the sword. I wish Sideshow would make it more obvious what the differences will be. I am not in a position to buy exclusives, so will wait for the regular in any event, but I would still like to know in advance, what the regular figure will provide us with.

That exl.acc. is indeed still a mystery.
I regret missing my chance yesterday to launch a few questions about the 1/4 historical line.

Yes, the sword is a mystery for the exclusive. It leads to the question, will or what does the regular have? The exclusive has a scabbard and the exclusive sword. One of, by the description. So does the regular have a scabbard without a sword. I know, that sound preposterous, but logic dictates, so I'm stumped.
With so much happening in the chat, it kind of rattles you. Can't think straight after a while. :lol

I can't believe no body asked about the sword! Oh well, we will find out when he arrives at our front doors. just to be sure, I'll bump up the question in Ask Sideshow, it might have been over looked. It would seem stupid to release him with just a scabbard and no sword.
I saw a bit of Washington on the cam, looked fantastic!

Michael Crawford has a nice picture of Washington from the his coverage of the show:

Thanks for the information WestDan. It appears that the regular Washington has a sword not mentioned in the description. So my question to Sideshow is what's the exclusive sword look like, and will the exclusive come with both swords? Sideshow has been updating the product pages for their other figures, but has completely ignored updating Washington. :dunno

Perhaps the exclusive comes with a sword that actually can be taken out of the case and the regular does not. The truth of the matter is it really does not bother me all that much to not know as I will be buying the exclusive from Sideshow for both Custer and Washington and will also be buying the the regular editions at a discount price from an online distributer. There are very few figures that interest me anymore and buying both versions for Custer and Washington is not a hard choice on my part. In fact the only two figures that I have purchased in the last year that I kept would be both the 1944 version of dragon's Patton and the 1945 version.
In fact out of all the figures 300 or so that I bought since I have started collecting, I believe that both Custer and Washington will be best one's in my collection bar none when they arrive. I would have rather seen Washington made into 1/4th scale over that Napolean guy and believe he would have sold more figures for Sideshow (Washington's outfit is more attractive in my view for a 1/4th figure).

Dan, I was looking over the chat logs at the time Washington was on display and I think they said the one being displayed was the exclusive version. It doesn't matter much to me either since I'm getting the Exclusive version. But it's mostly just trying to get Sideshow to notice the problem.
Creecher was there asking the question about Washington, and not getting an answer, he tried very hard but the Sideshow employees on chat didn't know.
I think there is still the possibility of them doing Washington as a 1/4 figure. But I don't collect that scale so my interest is solely on 1/6 figures. I hope Sideshow makes some other notable people from the Revolutionary War. I'm hoping for a Ben Franklin and a Thomas Jefferson. I'm not too familiar with the other famous Generals at the time except for William Howe, but I would probably buy them all if Sideshow made them.

Any real life figures from the revolutionary war, Civil War or Old West are ALWAYS a sure buy from me in 1/6th. I don't collect 1/4th but if they start doing real life historic US miitary figures the above time frames that might all change.

Also, I hope Sideshow stays with this style of buttons rather than the civil war kind for Washington's jacket. It is very similar to the Limited addition of 10 Napolean 1/6 scale I bought off of Greg Mowery a few years back. He is a very talented and I am almost certain that he did the work on the prototype for Washington.
For anyone interested here is what my 1/6th scale Napolean looks like. With this figure, I found no need as of yet to buy the 1/4th scale version. Especially since I paid over twice as much for this one than the 1/4th version. This one is fully posable and he can be placed on a horse as in the below picture or placed on display standing.

Perhaps the exclusive sword is a ceremonial sword or the sword Cornwallis surrendered with. :dunno
On a side note, I was in Virgina the past two weeks and went to Yorktown. In the gift shop they had none other than the Fife and Drum Sideshow figures :rock I was great to finally see some Sideshow stuff in stores again. Now I think I'll have to get them :lol . I wanted Washington before, but after visiting so many historical sites were he was involved, I can't wait to get him!

Yeah I visited Mount Vernon and Williamsburg when I was about 8, I wasn't to interested at the time but I've grown to be more interested now a days.
I did a search on Washington's swords, he owned around five different ones. Here's some pictures I found online:

I wouldn't mind the exclusive being the top green one. I'd also like to know if the exclusive comes with two swords or just the one exclusive.

In the little red box it says "additional sword" so I would think it comes with the regular's sword and an additional mystery one as the exclusive. Hopefully its not two of the same sword :rolleyes
