Here we go! One week till launch. My dumb a$$ went and traded my old system and a few unwanted games to own the new Halo 3 console. One of the most dumbest decisions I have ever made. But man is it cool looking. The Spartan helmet will look bad a$$ on it. Now I have to figure out how to get back in the call of duty 4 beta. I also took off all next week to be able to take back the earth from the covenant. I can't wait! :chew

I pre-ordered the Legendary Edition from EB Games so I'm just going to assume they took too many orders and my order is going to go unfulfilled since I refuse to wait in line, accept a lower edition or go at midnight.

I pre-ordered the Legendary Edition from Circuit City when the had it for $99 (i think) - then the price went up, but CC should honor the original price .. Guess we will see soon enough.

I would have preordered but the only way I can preorder is online and I don't want to wait for it to ship so I'm planning on going out at midnight to Wal-Mart and buy it. Collectors Edition for me, I don't really care about the helmet. But I've got classes so I can't play it all the time, but luckily at the end of the week I'll be going home for Fall Break and I'll bring my Xbox so I can play it some more.

In one year I'll have amassed 10 PFs, 2 comiquettes, and a Stealth Iron Man.

No money for a 360 or Halo 3. So addicted to the original Halo. Only video game I've played for the past 2 years... outside of the odd DS game here or there. I need to get more use out of my DS.

Oh how I would love to own the Halo face lift 360 and the Halo 3 package with the helmet and game stand. Free t-shirt and hat too if I preordered it. Ugh. :(

The Halo 3 Xbox looks cool, but it's not enough for me to pay the extra money. It has the HDMI but the 20GB Premium console has HDMI now also so the only thing you're paying for is the color scheme, although I think it has the wireless Halo 3 headset but that's not a big deal to me. But recently I had upgraded to the Elite which was really worth it.

I am thinking it will be limited but want to pay respect to the board. I am thinking either FREA for Freaks or SSF for Sideshow Freaks. What do you guys think. I will also PM Dave to ask thim if this is ok since this is really his board and title. Also I want to make it clear that this will not be an overly competitive clan. So if you are looking for rank and so on this might not be the best place. Purely a place for freaks to get on and have friendly competition. Some of you I allready have on my friends list. If you wish me to send you a friend request and add you to the clan please PM me your gamer tag and on Tuesday morning I will do so. I hope to have this whole thing up and running by Tuesday at Noon. I love the casual clan idea, but Bungie announced on their podcast that the clan feature will not be in Halo 3. They said they tricked Xbox Live to essentially include an extra friends list for that feature in Halo 2 but weren't allowed to in 3. There is a rumor that the fall Dashboard update may include clan support. So who knows.

I'm not up on the whole clan thing so can someone please explain it to me. What does being a member of a clan actually mean and what do you have to do to set one up. I've heard of clans but mostly they are super competative professional type game players that kick my ass in Gears of War the little I play it on-line. I know some clans recruit people and have full websites etc. Just looking for some more info. Forgive my on-line newbieness. :o

Basically clans have a clan tag, like I would be SSFdarthviper7 and clans usually stick together, sort of like a country would.

So a clan is something "official" in that it's actually logged with XBox Live?

It would be specific just to that game. For instance, with Call of Duty 4 once you reach a certain experience level you get the ability to have a clan tag, so for instance my gamertag is darthviper7, with that ability I can add SSF to my gamertag in the game so while I play the game I'll show up as SSFdarthviper7, and you just get together with other people from the clan to play matches together or to play against other clans.

In Halo 3 there is mention of clans but I'm not sure if it's the same thing as how Call of Duty is adding clan tags.

Well, my expectations is that Wal-Mart will mostly have the regular editions and probably some limited editions and no legendary. But I just ordered the Legendary edition from Newegg.com and it was $120 not including the shipping which brought it to $138 which is cheaper than buying at the store and while I won't have it at midnight I will get it that day, and for cheaper.

The collectors edition (tin), you should be able to walk into best buy or circuit city and pick it up. You can order it on best buy right now with free shipping.

I was able to scrape together enough in-store credit after trading in four DVDs, and one game, and throw in a few bucks in cash to pay off the regular edition of Halo 3 today. So, now I can just go into my Gamestop around midnight Monday night and pick it up! Plus, I didn't have to trade in my three last, and favorite games on my Xbox 360, Gears Of War, Oblivion, and Madden 08! I'm a happy man now! :D

I might not be able to play online for a bit guys, for the past few days I haven't been able to connect and I just did a bunch of fixing with the settings and connections and it's possible that they just blocked the Xbox Live port on the school network, right now in the connection test on my Xbox it goes through IP and DNS but stops at MTU, and Shadowrun and Halo 2 Vista aren't able to connect on my computer either. So right now the earliest I could play online will be next weekend when I get back home for Fall Break. Which sucks, but that'll give me the time to finish the campaign.

My copy of the Limited Edition of Halo 3 will be delivered Tuesday afternoon, day of release. I decided to get the LE because I have the LE of Halo 2 and not the Legendary Edition because I don't need a cat helmet.

As soon as I get it I am diving in to the single player campaign.

Speaking of Call Of Duty 4 MP Beta, I play until I hit the rank cap and then I stop and wait for the rank cap to be raised again and then I will play. I don't see a reason to continue playing, it is really fun don't get me wrong, because consider it a waste to get more kills, etc when it won't help me rank up.

I re-watched Gamespot's stage demo of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare from E3 2007 and I got excited all over again.

Well, I will likely jump right into the multiplayer part of Halo 3 after I get in from picking it up tomorrow night at midnight. I know I'll get around to doing the single player campain game. But the last few games I've bought and rented, I've gone first for the online multiplayer. Gears Of War, Rainbow Six: Vegas.

I'm also playing the Call Of Duty 4 Beta online multiplayer. I'm at level 14 now, and the last I head the level cap is at level 16. The full game for COD4 comes out on November 5.

I work in "media" section at Best Buy where I live in Slidell, LA. We won't open at midnight, but we will have a big table with all of the Halo 3 games and accessories on it on Tuesday. We'll also have that new Halo 3 themed Xbox 360 on the table too.

Personally I like everyone having to start out on a level playing field when the game is released. It's fair to the people who weren't able to participate in the MP Beta.

Just for the record I'm currently at Lvl. 16 and I've been ranking up pretty quickly. I got to level 11 or 12 or whatever the initial level cap was in one sitting. Once it was raised to 16 I got up to Lvl. 16 in one sitting as well. Getting to Lvl. 28 (wow, that's 12 levels, or more, to get to depending on where you are already at in MP Beta) should be a fun little race before the 30th.

To stay off-topic even further, I just pre-ordered the CE of Call Of Duty 4: MW a few minutes ago. Anyone else pre-order Ace Combat 6: Fires Of Liberation with the Flight stick peripheral? I did. :D

One note to people who ordered the Limited Edition, in many of the limited edition copies when it's been opened it looks like the first disc has come loose from the spindle and may have gotten scratches from being loose in the package, there's many reports of people from Wal-Mart or Gamestop checking Limited Editions where they can hear the disc loose inside, and in the video from 1up where they opened their stuff that microsoft sent them the disc fell out of the Limited Edition. This isn't an issue for standard or legendary since they have different cases, but if you've preordered the Limited Edition you can check your copy when you pick it up and see if somethings shaking inside it and if you feel really concerned that the disc is damaged you can ask for them to give you one that's not loose. Although people are saying that the discs usually still work and it might not even be the game disc but the bonus disc.

And the lining up for Halo 3 is stupid, if you have a preorder you'll get the game anyway and if not then you're sure to be able to get the standard edition (maybe the limited edition and most stores aren't getting any Legendary editions beyond their preorders).

Just a heads up guys. IGN said they really dumbed down the difficulty in single player. They said don't even bother on the normal mode. They said the made the game easy so people who have never played a game before could get through it. Also they said that thing like turrets and other cool level items will not show up on easier levels.

It depends on the format, I've never uploaded anything to Youtube, but I know that some formats will end up with unsynced audio. And it has to be less than 10 minutes.

Thanks for posting that. Man, does that helmet look and sound so cheaply made. I didn't like how the discs were falling out so easily and getting scratched. That was a problem with the CE's last time.


BTW, i read you can pick up halo right now at 7-11. So if you're impatient, give thme a call.

Most "media" types get those kits and sometimes the guy will put them up on ebay, a good free $150 for him. But announcing it on video was pretty dumb, even is he was joking. Probably the last time he gets any thing free from MS. heh

Just a heads up guys. IGN said they really dumbed down the difficulty in single player. They said don't even bother on the normal mode. They said the made the game easy so people who have never played a game before could get through it. Also they said that thing like turrets and other cool level items will not show up on easier levels.


That's pretty gay. Isn't that why there are 3-4 difficulty settings?

Ok here is what I am thinking. Sometime after midnight I will create a clan. Please let me know what you would prefer the clan tag to be. I am thinking it will be limited but want to pay respect to the board. I am thinking either FREA for Freaks or SSF for Sideshow Freaks. What do you guys think. I will also PM Dave to ask thim if this is ok since this is really his board and title. Also I want to make it clear that this will not be an overly competitive clan. So if you are looking for rank and so on this might not be the best place. Purely a place for freaks to get on and have friendly competition. Some of you I allready have on my friends list. If you wish me to send you a friend request and add you to the clan please PM me your gamer tag and on Tuesday morning I will do so. I hope to have this whole thing up and running by Tuesday at Noon. Here we go! One week till launch. My dumb a$$ went and traded my old system and a few unwanted games to own the new Halo 3 console. One of the most dumbest decisions I have ever made. But man is it cool looking. The Spartan helmet will look bad a$$ on it. Now I have to figure out how to get back in the call of duty 4 beta. I also took off all next week to be able to take back the earth from the covenant. I can't wait! :chew
