hi all.....just got POPBOT Exclusive last week and thought you all might like to see some photos. I will post one photo per post so as not to slow down folks with a 56K modem.
Initial impression: very nice sculpt; very clean lines, very modernistic and spot on with the art of ashley wood who, byw, also did the box artwork. Inside word is that Lady Sham will be the next product in the PopBot world.
Only a few very minor disappointments: the decal on the under the base had separated in a few places, there was no asley wood sig, and even though both outside and inside boxes said it was #50/100......I got a base with #52 on it. After a few days, I called SS and spoke with Amy :angel and she sugested that the base could be replaced and repaired, but that the mismatching of the base with the box was a done deal. So if anyone gets a box with #52/100, but the base says #50/100 you now know why it's mismatched.
Here's the first picture of PopBot with the 12" Creature:

as you can see in this photo, SS uses the tried and true pegs-on-the-feet that go into the base for displaying the statue:

this is what is under the base which is lined with a foam mat that has a decal applied to it. note no "aw" (ashley wood) sig anywhere. so it goes back to SS and I'll be able to display it again in another month or two. I really didn't want to send it back, but after paying $150 for the exclusive hook form, it ticks me off a bit that they couldn't get such a small detail right. and yeah, i know....picky, picky.....but aren't we all??

I would be pretty nuts to accept like it is, to bad you need to go through the hassle, thank god it will be alright.
Nice statue, I wasn't familiar with Popbot before the SS license but even an ignorant can appreciate this design.

You realise you could have posted all the photo's in a single post....right?
Lovely piece really. That vynal cutout on the base looks great. Too bad about having to send it back. I too wouldnt accept a flawed piece, even if it was a tiny flaw. You pay for nothing less then perfect.

Yes, BE, I know that I could have put all these photos in a single post. But out of consideration for folks with a dialup connection to this board, I did not want them to wait a looonnnggg time for all the pix to load. Perhaps a better idea would have been to just post the links to each photo back to my photobucket page. I guess in trying to minimize folks bandwidth, I may have added to yours.....mea culpa!!!
