Heya guys! I was thinking of getting me the Anna Valerious figure. But I noticed on the ebay listings that the figure doesnt come with the pistol and has an LE of 2500. Yet when I search the SideShow site, I only see the Anna exclusive figure LE 500 with pistol. Does this mean there are 2 versions? And is the figure really as bad as I remember you guys saying it was? (I remember something about the head beeing too big?)

Any help is appreaciated. I can still order the SideShow exclusive btw. It's on a second chance run.

as you will see in the photos, it's a nice costume with a freakishly huge head. so huge, even my hasbro figures laugh at her.:naughty

I did a review too - Anna V. review (http://sideshowcollectors.com/Review-Anna.htm)

And of all the roto female heads they've done recently, her's is the best. Not really too big at all and the hair helps balance it out.

The Anna is way cool. Much of the criticism placed at her having a big bonce, is more from the effect of her tight costuming, slim body and frizzy hair. An optical illusion of sorts. The female bodies are pretty petite.

One of the members went through very detailed instructions for getting her hair to flatten out, even if it had to be repeated a few times for the frizz to loosen up. Once you style the hair nicely and have it covering the sides of her face, her head doesn't look so round and bulbus.

And yes there are two versions, the regular edition of 3500 without the pistol, and the exclusive. The choice is yours.

I'll give you a quick review.

It's Anna. She was played by Kate Beckinsale. :drool And since I can't get a 1/4 scale version, this one will do. :p

Yes the figure does have a large head. However, the outfit is excellent! Likeness is pretty good too although I personally prefer sculpted hair. It's too bushy compared to what Anna's hair looked like.

I liked the Anna sculpt, the costuming was good (*if* the boots had been separate entities I'd have *loved* the costume) but the body was a bit too slim, the paintjob was again botched (my Anna has a faint zombie caste to her flesh tone) and the hair, though a brave attempt, was a failure.

However, with the addition of a lot of hair gel Anna can be improved...

Also found her sword and dagger accessories a bit plain... fortunately back then Battle Rhino had split up the Blackbeard figure so my Anna got a new sword and a pistol weapons upgrade ;)

Thanx for all the feedback guys...though I think I'm gonna pass on this figure. Now that I've seen how it looks, I'm not quite happy with how the head looks. It looks better with all the hairgel put in, but its still not entirely to my taste. Although I still might change my mind at some point. Saw this figure go for as low as $24 on ebay. Thats not exactly a huge risk :lol

Here is one solution to the "Balloon Head" problem: A 1/5 scale body.

It is not 1/4, but it is as close as you can get

-for now ;)
