Looking for Mods

How would you like to be hated and reviled?

That's right, this is something I said I'd never do - solicit for moderators.

We're looking for a few good men or women who are mature, thick-skinned and most importantly, a frequent board visitor.

Some of you that would probably make good mods may be disqualified for some reasons. People that fly under the radar are probably better candidates than those that get into flame wars.

We'll probably be adding around 3 and each one will have different areas of responsibility. So if you're just a Star Wars and Aliens person and those are the only forums you visit, you can still submit and you'll only be considered for those forums. Once we have some volunteers we'll see how the responsibilities will shake out.

But if you would like to be considered, email me at "dstephan@sideshowcollectors.com" with "Mod" in the title. If you're more a single forum person, let me know that too.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind helping but I have a feeling that Dave will have plenty of perfect candidates. I certainly have the capacity for maturity and have to be serious often enough in the "real world" but it's nice to come here and be silly now and then, and mods need to set the example for appropriate behavior at all times. With great power comes great responsibility and all that. Although I don't care for flame wars, profanity, etc. anyway, but I do like to post pictures like this from time to time:

You'd be surprised how many mods would expect guys at my age to do just that. Some people get a kick out of it for some strange reason. Ive seen it happen on a few forums, so I'm not gonna lie and say it hasn't happened with other people before. ;)

I don't belong to any faction, quite frankly. I collect a number of things, though I'd have to say, I mainly prefer HTs. I'm glad that there's a possibility of HT and SS collaborating on a new 1/6 body for SS. If they do that, all they'd need is better paint control, and they'd be right up there with HT and Medicom.

But getting back on topic, I wasn't offended. Just pointing out that I haven't done anything that makes me a 'Medikid'. ;)

I don't think it's really a matter of "winning" or "voting" or whatever. Dave is only looking for people he knows will maintain the easy-going nature of the forums without fueling fires or pushing their own agendas based on their biases or preferences. Hopefully they'll be people who have a good sense of judgement and can keep things level-headed. I also hope they will do it because they want to help the forums, not because they want the title or prestige of being a Mod. If they're doing it all for themselves, they're probably not the best choice. In that sense, I think Tom and Pix are very much the best choices--I know that they're the kinds that really want to be of service and help out, and aren't in it just so they can "be the Mod."

IMO Tom and Pix are great assets to this board and I think they would be fair,unbiased and more importantly approachable by members when helping to oversee this place.
I love visiting this Board and have made a lot of friends, some a bit crazy:monkey3, some just wonderful, but together we all make the community.
I'm sure most of us would help if we could.I know I would.
There are many others I could mention that I feel would also be do a great job, but I don't know how many are needed so if I were to pick who gets my vote it would be those two.
