Not really a significant difference. I think the returns is the better figure, but the 89 being a dx is the better overall. They have the different looks, so go with the one that looks the best to you.

The Batman returns figure is not technically a DX figure but it has everything a DX figure has.
The 89 Batman doesn't come with more stuff really, just a bigger box.
A agree, it really is a matter of preference, I'm glad I got both.
I find that the DX09's cape can be easily futzed out of the box but the 92 Batman needs a custom cape, others disagree.
89' Batman.
But if you can get the Batman Returns/Bruce Wayne for a decent amount, that's totally worth it too.
