just finished the alan dean foster novelization of alien for the first time -- was a lot better than i anticipated -- & was left wanting more, so i went to amazon & bought the novelizations of the other movies & came across a few references to perry's earth hive & there are so many opinions on both the merit & lack thereof that i decided to float the question here: what do you all think about perry's contribution to the alien universe? worth checking out or am i better off just skipping it? thanks for any illumination you all can provide!

I haven't read "Earth Hive" but I can tell you that Steve Perry's "Oh, Sherrie" rocks the house!!!

Here's the Wikipedia summary. Warning: Spoilers... Some of it seems well drawn, other story elements not quite so much IMO, sounds like a fun read though.

thanks for the info pjam -- think you kinda summed it up pretty well -- some of it sounds interesting, some of it not so much -- might check out the first novel, see how it goes. thanks again!
