I love the story and characters. Hate the action figures. But if Sideshow were to do 1:6 scale action figures for Harry Potter...I would be all over them.

I prefer 12" Figures myself.

Not everyone can afford to collect such expensive items such as those.

I'd love to see some HP vs dio's or PF's

Would've been really cool if SS picked up the license for the 1/4 scale before Gentle Giant took it.

The NECA action figures have it's positives (Hagrid) and negatives (bad paint apps)....

Which leaves the 1/6 line....would love to see SS take a stab at those...

I would easily pass on a 1/6 scale line as I love the GG busts and can't imagine a better representation than those.

What he said! Definitely! I'd buy those in a New York minute! :chew:emperor

12" Harry Potter figures don't interest me all that much, I'm afraid, but it would be awesome to see them done well. Personally the GG 1/4 scale are the ones that have my attention, but them being Gentle Giant has me a wee bit concerned, it's too bad they aren't Sideshows...

I like the 1/6 line myself. Its smaller so easier to display, less expensive and can be posed.
I would love to have HP in this format, but the kids can be done in their 'older' incarnations. I would prefer Dumbledore represented as Richard Harris.

How about the GG 1/4 mixed media? Their answer to SS's PF's.

GG has done an excellent job with the HP stuff. Its hard to believe someone can do better. I have no complaints with any of the bust.

I'll obviously be on them like a fat kid on a cupcake but I have no interest in a SS 1/6 scale representation. And I'm assuming by the new GG pieces, SS has no chance to make a PF of these :monkey2

The fat kid on a cupcake comment never gets old to me :lol

I would not be too sad about SS not being able to make PF's since GG's look every bit as nice. GG may even take the line to a better place than SS would anyway. Potter is a big line for GG so I can see several key characters coming out in this form. SS may have made a couple, but their money is in Marvel and Star Wars for the most part.

Well if GG releases more HP PF's, bye bye Marvel

After watching the first two movies tonight with the kids, I got to thinking about the Hobbit size bodies and the possibilities for the kids.

2 more films to go, seems like there's some mileage for SSC here.

Well, 12" figs are getting close to being as expensive as those.

A PF Harry would be pretty cool as long as its from one of the later films... I don't really want a kid.

So why couldn't they do both 1/6th and statues?

MAKE IT HAPPEN SIDESHOW!

We're in on our end. We would prefer PF's but the prices are just about killing us these days. And if you don't plan to make me a Snape, then don't even bother starting! :D

I'd prefer a Hot Toys line myself.

Zeniff
07-27-2011, 02:41 PM
Yes. If hot toys ever did a 1/6th harry potter line, i'd be all over that!
but I just don't see the audience for these figures, sure HP is really popular, and has a world wide appeal, but I don't see 11-17 year old kids buying these figures @180, nor do i see 40 year old guys jumping on these

I think it was actually 4. I only correct you because 4 years sounds even more ridiculous than 3 and laughing about the pathetic fail that is GG Potter PF's is the only way I can cope with GG having the license instead of Sideshow.

I paid Mike at Razor's edge a deposit on Harry and Voldemort. I'm not sure if they will ever be released as they have been coming out for years now and every month, there seems to be a pushed back date. So, I don't know what to say to Mike about my deposit. I wish he'd let me keep the order, but put the money towards something that's in stock. What if he has my money for the next year+ cause the date keeps going back...

Gentle Giant announced today that the Voldemort Statue will be released in August. http://blog.gentlegiantltd.com/?p=441
Nothing ever get released on time when it comes to them... I wouldn't hold my breath.

The Voldemort statue is apparently going to ship in August. GG announced it on their blog. I wouldn't hold my breath though, they're always pushing back release dates.

I'll believe it when I see it. And really, just Voldemort? They can't get Harry out too? I don't think I've ever used the term epic fail before, but I think it is appropriate here.

BG, I would just e-mail Mike and tell him what you are thinking and see what solution he might be able to offer. I've bought from him a few times and I always had good experiences.
