Anyone know when they will do the next one?

How about a PF?

I'm just asking cause my Dad is interested in the JW stuff. I don't think he would do a PF one but he might get the 12" figures.

I really hope we see a John 1/4 in his cowboy gear!

That would be something I would consider getting my dad but I'd have to hint around to see if he'd like it.

I'd be surprised if SSC announces the new figure before, or at least very long before the first version is released. It's a new license and the Wayne family is very picky about things. They protect "The Duke"s image very carefully.
I hope when the next figure is announced it's "Captain Nathan Brittles". It's a wonderfully archetypal character from Ford's Cavalry trilogy and would make a great portrait figure. A "Hondo" type figure or the generic John Wayne drover shirted look from the sixties would also be pretty neat, and very nostalgic for most of John Wayne's fans. It would probably be hugely popular.

I hope they make one as he appeared in "The Searchers."

The Searchers? Is that the older JW, with an eye patch? He was getting a little big during that time, hehe. I would love to see the younger JW first, either cowboy or cavalry. It's been so long since I've seen it but wasn't he in the Alamo too? It would be nice for a short frontiersman series.

Ya' know, when we talk about the figures we'd like to see Mr. Wayne portray in our little 1/6th world that SSC is hopefully going to offer, they have to be "slightly" generic. It's "John Wayne as a Paciffic Marine", not Sgt. Stryker. I don't believe it's SSC's intention to license all the films, just the likeness of "The Duke".
So I doubt my dream figure Capt. Brittles is going to happen exactly. I'm expecting if I get my wish it will be more in the form of a US Cavalry Captain circa 1876.
It's also why I think the next figure could easily be the kind of generic "Son's of Katy Elder", "Rio Bravo", "Rio Lobo", "War Wagon", etc. Lawman/Gunfighter guy from the 60's. It would make sense for the licensor and the fans. I can even think of the differences like a blue drover shirt for an exclusive rather than a red for the regular release.
And I'd be thrilled with a "Searchers" style figure. Ford and Wayne's greatest film.

Well, with Toy Fair coming in about 4 months it is going to be interesting to see what SS has been working on.

We'll definitely need the Duke in tiger-stripes... ;)

Any Wayne will be great. I'm just thankful for a licensed 1/6th figure line. I expect whatever is coming I will buy. Even Ghengis Kahn! I love the Duke.

Just got a notice...I'd joined the wait list for the exclusive version of the first John Wayne...it's now upgraded to a firm order as of Oct 20. No action called for on my part.

Hey, GOB, me too! I had placed an order for the Wayne exclusive when it was first announced, then had to figure finances due to so much stuff coming and cancelled it. At that point it went "sold out", so I figured oh well. Then I got to thinking how much I really wanted this one, so I signed up on the exclusive wait list and I, too, got the notice that my wait list was being converted to an order! Woo hoo! I'm not cancelling again, I reeeeally want this one! :banana

Still no word on JW's release?

Sideshow seem to save the best toward the end of the line. Where is Giles? If not the best, they keep an interesting and popular version for later. Without more six gun figures appearing, a Cowboy Wayne is going to send the 1/6 world ape.
