Has anyone created enviroments to display their figures in ?
I dont mean cases or cabinets Im talking custom enviroments specific to the figures that are being displayed ?

Either a printed background ? from film etc as a background
(Id love a high quality death star background or jabba palace background that I could print off :)

or whether youve gone the whole nine yards and created archways, walls and floor etc ?

I only ask as I hope that I could, at some future date, create some type of diorama or boxed enviroment in which to display my figures and not just simply put them behind glass or on a shelf ?

Any modelling tips tricks would be greatly welcomed.

I don't have any finished... but I've started building walls/flloors for my Obi-Wan & Anakin figures... and the same for Maul, Jedi Luke, Aragorn & Legolas

Mainly for myself, but if I put them together right I might be able to cast them. But they're mainly for myself. They'll either make the figures look even more real... or they'll just look stupid :lol

This is the closest I've come to what your talking about. I'd love to have a high quality 8x10 or larger screen grab like the death star or the interior of a ship but I haven't been able to find one.

I'd also love to do exactly what Darren is doing when I have the time.
I sure wish he would post some in progress pics of that project.:monkey3

I started setting up a ship interior inside one of my cabinets. I still need to find a decent sized backround to print off for it or make some walls out of sheet styrene.

It's hard to see but there are crates behind the middle Stormtrooper. I like to think of it as a loading area.

Just occured to me that I could probably create 3D enviroment and take some large screenshots for printing on a3.

ATM Im holidaying in Spain at my parents place but Ill be back in a week or so. but .....

All I need to do is get some images that can be used as renders onto the 3d surfaces

EG. PHOTOS of Some of the surfaces in the death star - floors ceilings walls doors etc

- Ideally images that will "tile" flat images not taken on an angle :

Actually if anyone has any PC titles of STAR WARS Games or any other Games

AVP etc

Then maybe they could post them ?

If someone has :

1 or 2 and has the time to look at walls, floors, ceilings, doors, etc in game and take screen shots then post them ?

That would be superb ?

I had the game but traded it (kicking myself)

I could then do floor images that line in with depth of field backdrops (youve seen this type of thing in spaceship corridors "Star Trek Nemesis" on the Reman Warbird for example :

Ill stay away from dropping any figures in the images as this will lessen any intended effect

Rather keep the image back drops flat and give any depth of field through doors etc.

With enough images I believe it could work

I am going to to build a endor dio for my force ghosts. It will be a combination of wood, glass, and different colored lighting. I have even played with the idea of installin tiny speakers and getting a little iShuffle which will play the last movement of the ROTJ score when you press a button.

So many ideas. So little time and money. :lol

Damn, that would be great. I would love to have something like that. One scene and diorama for each of my figures. Would love to see that fully finished, I just wish that I knew how to do that type of stuff, but I'm clueless.

Had a little crack at creating a Death Star Backdrop as Ive mentioned in this thread

The images linked are high res and large (wall is 9341 pixels x 2284 pixels resolution 72 pixels per inch) so you can cut and past areas as required :

Heres a thumbnail of the wall :

Ive added a link to the floor images I used as a texture so that you can resize and print at your leisure

Printed on A3 (will do that when I get back home) and then lined up with the floor they may look good, they may not

will post some pictures when I get chance

and for the 3d fans :emperor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILE9apKsEsE

Maybe this thread can be a good good start for contribution of printable hi-res backdrop images for 1/6th scale figures.

Some great ideas out there.
Shame Sideshow have'nt explored the Base and backdrop a little bit more, could add a lot of fun to our existing figures.
I would like to make a grave yard scene, anyone out there tried this
Appreciate any ideas
