Dammit. I thought Jango would be my only PT guy, but I might be sold on a Maul I can pose brilliantly. Guess I might start an "Over Hyped Villain" collection of my own.

I knew there was a reason I got rid of my Sideshow Maul. 
I'll be all over this like a fat kid on a cup cake!
As for the Medi-SSC question, Maul is utterly amazing from Sideshow, so the only area where I think there might be favor towards Medi is that tats, some wanted Sideshow's to be thicker for the forehead lines and things, but judging from the photo, Maul looks to be in a flat facial expression so no teeth or grinning. I'll have to see how Jango looks, but based on past Medi's, the face will still look toyish compared to Sideshow.

Well I'd agree on the toyish thing BUT Maul has no skin tone, it's SOLID black and red, nothing to worry about there.
Think SS will carry this since they have their own Maul to sell?

I don't think there's any doubt that the RAH Maul will top the SSC version,the attire quality & poseability are a dead cert,the real question for me is whether the RAH sculpt will match the amazing work of DarthCallous.

wow you're telling me a custom job is better than a mass produced one?
i'd be interested in the medicom one and i'm sure it will have finer details than SS but at 3 times(!) the cost it better. plus by the looks of it he is shorter than jango which means he's really short compared to other 12" figs. not bashing medi here i've been really impressed with their work but again 3 times the cost.
The Sideshow Maul by itself looks good, but when it's up next to that custom there's just no comparison. The custom actually looks like Ray Park is standing there posing for that picture and if Medicom's offering is anywhere near that good I'll sell my SS and buy it.

I sold my SS maul about 2 days after owning it cause it looked very crappy as far as poses go an unnatural looking etc.( and the boots made it look like a hasbro fig to me even with the good sculpt)Now i'm glad i sold it..WOW didn't see this coming.

Obviously SSC Maul isn't perfect, but I still consider it amazing. If SSC Maul were painted with his tats like the custom, they'd look equal. The unpainted Maul head sculpt images were without question Ray Park's head, but on a tattooed character, that can be as much defining as the sculpt. SSC Maul is painted in a neutral manner, like all of their figures, where the custom has the more battle, determined look.
