So, as many of you know the San Diego Comic Con is a big deal in the Freak world.
Just like last year we will be having a bash and I want to get some idea of how many people will be attending. Fun is had by most, we have Sideshow peeps pop in and prizes just for us Freaks.

It will be on Friday, July 27 (in San Diego, of course).

Anyone who wants to go will need to RSVP to me (NOT IN THE THREAD) at dstephan@sideshowcollectors.com. In the email please tell me your name, your board name and if you plan to bring a guest and if that guest (or yourself) is under 21.

Friday is the day that works the best. The Sideshow VIPs have bigger and better parties to go to on Saturday.

It will probably start around 7:30-8 PM depending on the venue. Dress is party casual, no black tie required.

The raw fish sushi may not necessarily be wolfed down and discourage many from at least giving it a try. Perhaps a combo of the raw fish sushi (nigirizushi) for the already initiated and the adventuresome, as well as the rolled kind (futomaki), that is filled with veggies/omelet and may encourage a few to try to expand their palates?

They have outgrown the SD Convention Center and were feeling a lot of heat from local authorities, so for the first time I believe, they will "sell out" after a certain number. There was talk last year that they might have to move to a different city with a bigger Convention center, but I don't think they really want to move, so it was limiting admission as the lesser of two evils.

Yeah, I heard those rumblings last year as well. I mean Saturday was just plain nucking futs. You couldn't move much at all because all the people and the smell would about knock you out. Thursday wasn't too bad and Friday was better than Saturday but not by much. I expect it to be a little worse for people this year.

They have various areas set-up for food (I'm not sure about alcohol though). But even on Saturday it's way too crowded where the food is (since most of the food places inside the convention center are in the exhibitors all (though there are mini carts of food items set-up throughout the convention center).

Best bet is to just hang out in the gaslamp district at a bar. :lol

The address is on G Street. The easiest way to get there (starting from the convention center) is to walk up 1st Ave (it will be on your right hand side). It's about a 4 to 5 block walk (maybe a little less). You can also walk up 2nd and 3rd and hit into eventually. I looked it up on the Ralph's site so hopefully their directions are correct. I can't remember off the top of head street names unfortunately. But it is right in the heart of downtown there.

They have a bag check outside the exhibitors hall you can utilize if need be (at least they did last year and pervious years). As bags go if you bring anything too big you might be bumping into people everytime you make a turn (then again on Saturday you'll be bumping in to people no matter what).

I think it's more than possible to avoid being burnt out by Saturday. I know energy drinks keep me alive during the whole convention (otherwise I'd be dead by Friday :lol).

As Dave said its a private party so it wont be a huge issue if you not dressed quite right but if a bunch of us decide to hang there after it might be one. The party was great, I got blasted! I got to meet a LOT of cool people, Lonnie (lcummins), Bob (The Godfather), Josh (jlcmsu), Matt (LotrFan), Rumi (Wetanut) and Sam (Gruesam) and my bud Dan (ghettoenhaced). As well as some Sideshow folks, Dusty (she's so sweet), Heath, Scott Klauder, Bernardo (helluva cool painter/sculpter) and a few more folks.

I also saw TOE, Fritz, IrishJedi, BlueSnaggletooth and Memnoch21, but they all left before I had the chance to say hi.

I had lots of fun, Bob (The Godfather) is a party animal! :D I had a chance to talk to the group above and they are all just as cool as I thought they would be.

Sideshow was cool enough to have prizes for all in attendance! It was an awesome time! Thanks to Darklord Dave and SSC for making it happen! :rock

The party was a blast! Got to meet many, many Freaks last night - which ruled. jlcsmu, The Godfather, Darklord, TOE, Wetanut, LOTRfan, Gruesam, IrishJedi, zoomaround etc etc etc. Also got to finally meet Mat Falls, Greg Maury and some of the other Sideshow gang I had somehow missed catching up with. All a fun buncha people.

Lots of Freaks also won tons of great goodies compliments of the Sideshow gang. It really made for a blast!

I'd like to thank the Darklord for hosting. I personally drank enough gin to fill a small boat. :D:D:D:D:D:D And after the Freaks party, everyone moved to the top of the Hyatt where we partied long, long into the night!

Party was really a fun time, it was so nice of Sideshow and Darklord to put this together, it was a real nice gesture on the part of Sideshow to give all the Freaks another GC in their envelopes along with the name buttons.

Really meant to get some pictures of the event, just forgot to bring out the camera...heck even my wife had a good time, she had a few conversations about the Electric Tiki line with some of the sideshow folks.

It was also pretty cool that Adam Hughes, Lou Ferrigino and the Chief from BSG showed up. Adam was pretty cool as well spent a bit chatting with him.

Again it shows what a class orginization Sideshow runs from top to bottom, even if Dusty wouldn't pose with Darth Vader today :monkey2

I haven't missed a freaks party yet and I love how this year’s party went. I was able to move around and meet so many board members. It was a great time and I so truly enjoyed meeting all of you (far too many to list). It cannot be said enough on how much thanks is owed to Dave and Dusty for taking the time and effort they do to make sure this is actually a party. I have been to a few industry parties and they are in general rather stiff and no one really feels comfortable being them-selves. The freaks party is just not like that the upper management do not hesitate to move around or allow someone to come up and join their conversation.

Thanks so much for a GREAT party! I haven't been terribly active in posting recently and it was wonderful to see some long-time Sideshow Freaks, specifically Josh, Rumi, Sam, Sara, Mike. My friend from the UK was a SDCC newbie, and came to the Sideshow party as my guest. She thought you guys were great! Friendly and a lot of fun, and was very impressed with Sideshow as a company. She only owns one Sideshow statue (the new Balrog) but took lots of pictures of my collection to take home to her husband...perhaps to convince him that she needs to own more???

Hey, that was a great party, Dave! I'm sorry I didn't stick around longer to meet everyone, but I was happy to see the few faces that were familiar to me: Ghettoenhanced, Michael Crawford, and Zach Oat.

I also did meet Quok (did I spell that right?) who was a nice guy and I said hi to Destiny (who could blame me?).

Dusty is GORGEOUS.

And I didn't take any photos I'm afraid, but hope you guys had a blast. I went to another party afterwards and well... let's just say that I missed half of the con on saturday!
