If you have the maquette then it makes for a great display.

I find it interesting that ACME cooled off as rapidly as they got hot. The ES for Kit and Dooku was raised because of the artificial demand and now they can't sell these. "Wait List Chance Conversion Odds = Very Good"

indeed...

What is killing the character key line is the few "exclusives" that are impossible to get. People have just given up on the line instead of paying through the nose for two or three important keys. As for Acme in general, I think their prices on their bigger products are just too high. Not many people are willing to pay $1900 for an unframed 18"x28" Giclee, even limited to only 50 pieces.

I just don't understand the concept of a Character Key for animated characters that don't even exist.

It's called art! The characters in the movies don't exist either... :rotfl

Yes, I know that. I mean that an animated Tarkin does not exist. There was never a show with that character, so what's the use of a key?? The whole point of a "Character Key" is to show the colors and design keys used by animators to produce the characters in a cartoon. Hence, Character Keys for the CLONE WARS animated series made perfect sense. Things like Tarkin... eh, not so much. Far too contrived for my tastes.

Then again, if there is one thing most SW licensees know how to do it is shoot fish and scrape the bottom of a barrel at the same time.

But I think that is the whole point... they are producing keys to show what characters would look like if animated similar to the Clone Wars. None of these "character keys" are anything like a real animator's character key, so they all are just a creative piece of art, which is what Acme Archives sells, art.
