At on 55 in the world, they are all low number. These are made to order, so the first people to order them knwo more will be made...the last people to order them are getting the last few or last one that ever will be made, so the price goes up! (Harder to get!)

Actually, I don't know why that cross link is showing up on the main vader bronze page... there's not a separate FLEX page, to cut down on confusion. Basically since this is kind of a special order and everyone will be contacted personally by a rep, the schedule will be set up at that time.

I wouldn't mind picking this up but it would have to look better, and not have the small chest and slinder side shot. The Gandalf i thought was done much better then this.

That's pretty funny Nick... because for a split second, I was considering that very option. :lol While I would love to own the Bronze Vader, it is just too much money for me right now... if he is still available after SDCC (which I highly doubt) then I may re-look at the possibility, but I really don't foresee owning this one.

I really love that sculpt. Theres something about this helmet that reminds me of the beloved Hildebrant poster, despite this obviously being the ESB Vader (pose, pouldrans, etc).
I've owned cars cheaper than that, though. I would be all over a painted version but this Bronze will probably be up there with the giant wish-list of stuff I wish I had been able to get.

Maybe we can get Sideshow to run some "accelerated aging" tests on the Premium Formats and report back how long they should last under "ideal conditions"! :rotfl
But seriously, if well taken care of, they should last a heck of a long time... probably more than 100 years. I've seen some antique dolls on Antique Roadshow that were approaching 200 years old, and they looked in pretty darn good shape; the clothing will be the hardest thing to keep from deterioration.

Seriously, though, I think the Vader statue is too thin. Especially in the chest. I would really, really like to see this corrected before the piece goes into production. Hopefully either Sideshow or LFL suggests feeding that poor guy a hamburger before the final weigh-in.

Here's a better comparison pic. The statue on the left is the Attakus Vader I. The Attakus version looks right on the money to me.

Seriously considered it, but it just isn't 4500.00 impressive to me. I think a bronze dio of Vader and Obi clashing sabers would've loosened my wallet, but this is just plain blah. Gandalf bronze is MUCH more impressive.

His pose isnt even that impressive. And he looks feeble. He just has a thin, sickly, "I'm going to pinch you look".
I also think that the Gandalf is WAY more impressive.
If I had that kind of cash to piss out, I'd prob put it toward something that I could enjoy with the family.......more so than a statue.......not that statues arent enjoyed by the family......You know what I'm sayin'!
Congats to those that have it like that!!
ramblinj
06-04-2007, 02:55 PM
The "thin/sickly" thing is a problem that needs to be fixed on a $4000-$5000 statue.
But I really like the pose. It's my favorite pose on a Vader statue to date, just barely edging out the Attakus I. Though, the Attakus I would probably win if it's flanked by a pair of Stormtroopers. But 1:1 I like the Sideshow pose better.

I honestly think it just has to do with demand. They want you to feel like you have to rush to get the best price. Don't hesitate or it's gone tactic. They are kind of like their own secondary market in a sense, as the quantity decreases, the price adjusts accordingly. I think it stinks too but Sideshow is a business and they are out to make as much profit as they can...plus this system is working for their bronze releases.
