Footers Suck!

I love to lurk here, but is there any fraking way to not have to see everyone's gigantic footers? Come on already, do something about these fraking things. And what the hells up with the CIVIL WAR crap anyway?!?!?!?

Go to your User CP and click on Edit Options down towards the bottom is a place to turn off the signatures. And the Civil War banners are awesome!

They became the "fad" signature during the Civil War comic book series run! Actually, there is a thread warning about the size of signatures, but some people seem to just ignore it time after time... :monkey3

I thought it was more like guidelines than actual rules. Kinda like speed limits.

The sig thing is a RULE - I don't have time to email everyone that keeps breaking the rule, but I try to spot warn as I can.

That's why the option to disable is so important. If I'm on the road and the hotel I'm staying at doesn't have wireless, the first thing I do is go into my control panel and disable them. Dial-up + Sigs = :banghead

Unfortunately that doesn't help with the in post images. :monkey2

I think you can also disable images in posts. But that of course doesn't let you see any so that may suck too. Personally I'm on dial-up and I have alot of patience. :lol

I only have dial up at home and so when i get on here i always have "images off" set.

I'm just glad someone was kind anough to post that tip. I'm now image and banner/footer free. I have cable so it wasn't the wait, I have none. Its just so annoying to try and read with all those huge banners and animated crap.

If all that crap says stufv about peoples personalities...oh well I will stop before I piss all those guys off. ;)

If mods here are taking hints, these two forums are the best run and cleanest on the internet IMO. You guys could do a lot better by limiting those footers automatically.
