Thanks IM!
Yeah, but I have a serious side to collecting, and that is what I went for. I think it rocks and am glad you enjoyed it. With my new project for the GI JOE Film festival I get to be more flexible with the story, I'm having a lot of fun with this one, as I get to clash many universes together. Would you mind leaving a little comment for the clip? I'd really appreciate it.
Angel and anyone else interested, I have a few Cornelius, Zira, and Dr. Z figures for trade/sell. I'm mainly looking for any SS or Dragon DML, even DiD figures that are bearded. My collection is steering towards the American Civl War era. If no one is interested I will be putting some figures on Ebay in lots of 3. If I can't sell/ trade these I'll have to cancel my HT apes as I just can't justify spending over $600 for 5 figures. :horror
especially in these tough times. Luckily there was nothing new that SS announced this year that I'd be interested in, and their prices are just getting out of control. I haven't been happy with their Promethues bodies or the new cartoonish headsculpts. Indiana Jones - Toht was a complete disaster IMO so I'm cutting back on their current 1:6 figures.
Hi Stickman! I can send you pics of some figures that I can get to for trade:duh. I would be interested in one each of the Zira, Cornelius, and Zaius. I will PM you. Later, Kent.

Kfog--I have no link to show you. I just found them on Ebay because they (ABC Express) had the apes listed way back in November or December last year, and I couldn't wait for Sideshow to put up their "now available through Sideshow" link.

It looks like your impatience and intolerance sure paid off. I'm not sure why I'm going through SS at this point. I'd rather be saving money. Anyone have a site that is selling them for $112.? I'm going to call and cancel at least one Captain, it's kind of silly to have two.

I ordered my HT Apes at Alter Ego for $112.49 each. Here's the link:

Yes, I think Alter Ego has the cheapest available apes. I can't remember what I purchased mine for...I had buyer's remorse for a long time, and I think my selective memory refuses to recall what I shelled out.
PZ, did you bump into any apes at the SDCC? Any photos of apes in costume?

How much did you pay for those Landon dog tags and what exactly are you getting? I just saw the tags and the 5 cards that were given out at Comic Con! I love the cards! I understand that they'll be giving out 4 new ones at a future Comic Con regarding the up and coming release of the new apes novel(s).
All of these future novels sound really cool! :monkey5:monkey5:monkey5

I have never bumped into any Apes at SDCC. NEVER. Yet, after I come back from SDCC, every year, I see pictures posted of the Con WITH people dressed as Apes. I ALWAYS miss them!
And since this last trip will probably be the last time I'm going to SDCC, my record is unbroken... no Ape sightings. :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2
My cousin however DID run into a couple of gorillas and took pictures for me. :banghead:banghead:banghead

Do you have any pictures of the HT Apes? Can you please post them? I'd love to see them from a collector's point of view. Thanks buddy.
I keep my eye on this thread. I just don't have anything to add, and I get moody. :lol I'm good, except for ... well, I'll leave it at moody. :lol
I'm a bit rushed but here's a couple of snaps.

As an observation, the poles they use for the mancatcher and flag are the same, they just turned them around to make them look a bit different.
The loop I mentioned as being too small isn't. The mancatcher works. You can slide one end up to give some slack to the loop to make it bigger.
I would have taken a pic with the flag, except the flag is made of a stiff material, which just reverts back to its rolled up state. So I'll need to give it an iron to flatten it out.
The articulation is what we've come to expect from a Hot Toys TT body. The hard plastic boots restrict the possible poses such as crouching. I found it difficult to change hands, due to the plastic inside the glove, where the hole is, seems harder than some of my other Hot Toys figures. If they could make that more flexible people wouldn't break the ball joint as often.
Great to see you have yours Jessica. Love seeing your work and your enthusiasm is infectious. I'm not game to touch my figures. I'm sure you'll do a good job of adjusting his hair, and giving him a orthodontic appraisal.

The dog tags and cards were free at the Con. I scored some dogs tags and a full set of cards (there will be four more later on at another Con)... a different card was available each day. The dog tags were gone fairly quick. Cool stuff.
They also had a bunch of prints for sale ($20) from the artwork that will be used in the series. From what the guy at the booth said, Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes is the first in a series of books that take place in the off camera moments from the series. That one deals with Landon's story. Also in the works is a story about Milo's salvage of Taylor's ship as well as a story dealing with Taylor's first run in with the Mutants after he disappears in the Forbidden Zone. Could be a fun read. :D

That would be hilarious, and she'd be the one that could do it. Alas, she has more respect. Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy. :lol
I'm still interested in seeing what she is able to manifest. The hair is pretty close to the skull. Maybe the use of some product, but on the Planet, grease is not the word. I'm liking the hair wild on the gorilla's. If Hot Toys has a go at the chimps, we may get a comb down.
Just as I said earlier, I can't add much, as you have now witnessed. I'm happy to lurk and watch all you guys express your artistic abilities, and keep my inane comments out of it. Except at times like this when I'm a little excited about having a new ape figure in my collection.

Here's a closeup of his face after I popped it off. He's got that goofy grin that totally needs a makeover, but whatever. I'm so glad he's here. The facial lines of his sculpt is just so beautifully rendered. It would have looked better if they had sculpted the teeth to jut out from the bottom jaw as opposed to it coming down from the upper jaw.

The only way to figure out how to fix the hair is to see what is under there. I think to fix the hair you would have to peel everything off, and reshape the head to account for the poof of the hair...and then restick with toupee tape (because that's what the sticky stuff feels like that's gluing down the hair onto the plastic.) So...there you go. I hope you enjoyed the show.

Good to see what's under there. I'd feel terrible if it were me that had done that. I agree, you'd have to shave down the head, but then would it fix the problem? You'd have a small headed boofy haired simian on your hands. It's be hard cutting his hair down too. He'd have a boofy short hair cut. With your patience and determination, I'm sure you'll find a way to make it be the way you want.

Jessica, you have broken the Lawgiver's most sacred law: APE SHALL NOT KILL APE.
Experimental brain surgery on these animals is one thing, and I'm all for it, but to suggest that we can better the simian skull by ripping his face off is outrageous. You'll hang for scientific heresy! :monkey5
I would be willing to put a beard on Taylor and paint his beard and blend it with his hair, but I'm still not comfortable with skin tones. Why do you think your Taylor needs a repaint? Did something bad happen to his skin? I'm not interested in any of the accessories, except for the stands.

Congrats to you that have gotten your apes. I contacted the ebay seller that I went thru and they now tell me that HT is sending them out to their buyers in waves. What that means to me, Idon't know other than I don't have them. I thought I also bought 1 or 2 thru Alter Ego but can't get into the part of the site that allows me to check orders back that far. :banghead
Jess, does taking the HT gorilla apart give you any ideas as to rehairing a Hasbro ape?
Jessica
07-28-2009, 08:38 AM
Ironman, I do have a Hasbro gorilla. I'm going to shave that monkey and I'm going to add sculpted hair on it, just to see how he would look. It will be fun. Actually he does kinda remind me of a Hasbro ape, although a better looking one. I've put him back together again, and he looks as good as new. When you take the hasbro hair off, PLMK if there seems any way to put better, real hair on them to blend in with the HT's. I think, done right and on better bodies the hasbro versions may actually have a life.

I've been thinking about the Hot Toys ape---how the face plops onto the head, and because of this the hairline looks odd. When I do give him a haircut, I'm going to save the clippings and reglue it around the edge of his face to smooth the gap between plastic and fur.

Yes I too was caught in the bloody Hasslein Curve last night so I retired.
Wow Jessica, you wasted no time at all. This picture reminds me of a Six Million Dollar man episode, when Steve Austin had to battle the androids and their faces would come off. :lol
Creecher, your reaction shot is priceless.
I just canceled all existing orders from SideSHow... :chew I'm free, I'm Free.
AlterEgo confirmed my order this morning, and said they will be processing my order today. So, maybe another week? Can't wait. I dropped my order to Ursus, 1 Capt., and 2 Soldiers.

Sticks/KFog: What did you guys trade? I want to see. I want to see. Did you trade for that "Landon" figure I recently posted?
Kfog: What are your plans for the ape kit bash once your monkeys arrive? Hey! Where are your Conquest apes? Pix please?!
Jess: Just called Aves. I ordered a 4-pound container of Apoxie Sculpt and an 8 oz container of part just A. Did you know you could actually order part A and part B separately?
My Apoxie is about tapped out. I'm not sure that I even had enough to do these beards for Sticks. I'm looking forward to doing these.
Jessica
07-28-2009, 02:25 PM
What I need to do is find my liquid plastic so I can see if Zira's mold is a success or not. I still have a tub of A and B from Aves that's still good...probably half of a 4-pound container.

Jessica

07-28-2009, 02:48 PM
No, only Carsia, and looking at her again, I'm going to add more layers--like maybe another 50 layers of wash to perfect her. I want her to look as smooth as my Zira. Call me crazy, but if that's what it's going to take to make her perfect, I'm going to do it.

Angel, I'm not sure. I left it up to KFog.
I sent him a Cornelius, Zira, and Dr. Z
Hopefully they are to his liking. :)
Jessica, I was thinking, would a water treatment help with the bulky mane?
Jessica
07-28-2009, 02:58 PM
Sticks--maybe. I'll have to try out various hair treatments for that fake fur...that and blow-drying down may help some!! Good idea!
I am also thinking about using a razor to shorten the hair, the ones barbers use so that I could layer it. I'd have to play with it some...but of course, he needs cornrows first just for yucks. When I'm back from the Forbidden Zone I'll have fun with him before I do his makeover.

You can also ask them to "bundle" the apes and they will ship them all out when they get them all in. You save additional $$$ that way.
As for when they are shipping from Alter Ego... you might have to sit tight. According to their most recent newsletter, the Apes are not expected to arrive within the next 30 days. Ouch!

The only way to figure out how to fix the hair is to see what is under there. Hello All,
This weather is playing havoc on my equipment so I think I'm striking the set today. Just too much lightning. I'm doing well thank you. I think my SS commercial came out very well, hopefully it'll make 2nd or third this year as I did not see it. A lot of those videos didn't stick to the theme but hey, as long as everyone had fun doing it, I think that's all that matters, Lets see. Hopefully it'll be somewhere in the top three and I'd love to hear some feedback. If it gets shown later this month, I think you'll recognize it right away. :)
Sorry no Apes this year but it is as equally good in my opinion. I'll let you judge.
Jess, that photo is very cool. It looks professional. If you want I can blur your last name a little if that would comfort you so you could post it with no fears.
In the meantime I had Dr. Z beamed aboard my Mego (DidaDisplay) Enterprise. My two year old niece really loves these things and knows everyones name, even the Aliens. Mugato is her favorite figure but all the others are close behind.

You have gutts Jess! I would have been too afraid to pull him apart. What are your plans, if any, for the face?
I'm planning to do minor cosmetic dental surgery on him. I think I will make a mold first and experiment...but I want his teeth to come up from the bottom and for the teeth to be not so long/toothy.
What I also am dying to do is when I make a mold of his face, I'm going to make a cast and then sculpt gorilla hair on that. Also, get another cast and rehair it with doll wool...maybe feel up some fur animals at Borders and see if I can find some fur that could be cut up for the gorilla hair. It's all experimental and just theory for now.
Sticks, I'm going to NBO. It's a 35-hour one way journey on the first leg. I've accumulated enough sleepless nights so I am zombie-like now and will not have trouble sleeping for the 15-hour flight.

PZ, I know you had mentioned that this will be your last year at SDCC. However, we are planning to get a whole bunch of apes to attend in full ape regalia at SDCC 2010. Including me and my two sons, there are about 8 apes that will be there in full ape reglia. The plan is to meet and hang out on Saturday at the con. I'm posting this news to all of the apes groups I belong to so that everyone can plan ahead (start gathering chimpchange for their flights, hotels, etc...) and even be in costume if they are brave and willing.
Angel you had mentioned that it going under the goo would be something to do once in your lifetime. I believe that this SDCC is the place to do it, since it is a high profile con. Can you please try to make it so that we can all meet finally?

Hire a seamstress for the costume to make the bandolier, vest, gauntlets. There are a pair of PJs that come in that perfect gorilla plum, but they sell it in the UK. I'll gather the info and post it here.
Masks can be purchased from Apemania. They have deluxe pullovers that are quite comfortable to wear all day...pricey, but you can make your own or purchase from my friend Greg. Or you could buy a gorilla appliance that you glue down on your face. You can wear this all day and sweat through the appliances.
Matt Sotis sells the gorilla toes that you glue on top of boots...and you make your own buckles for the boots.
You can rig up your own gorilla club (Apemania sells these too) and the rifle can be made if you know someone who's got the tools.
And before you know it, instant gorilla!!!

Going to SDCC every year for the last six years has been made possible by the generosity of my family members. It would not be possible otherwise. My brother has provided me with a free admission ticket to all four days and has paid for my hotel stay. My father has covered the plane fare. And my wife has taken the week off from work to entertain the kids during my absence. Everybody has gone above and beyond the call to make sure that I had a great time in San Diego every summer. I'm starting to feel really guilty about that.
It been a great run. I've seen lots of things over the years that I will never forget. But it is time to desolve the obligations that my family feels concerning my participation at this Con. The next time I go to this Con, it will be with me paying my own way. And I cannot see this happening anytime soon.
Sounds like some good fun for next year, Jess. It's a shame that I'm going to miss it.

Sticks: The 2 Chimps arrived today safe and sound. Man that Taylor head you sent looks just horrible! I hope I can improve him for you. He's a real train wreck. Cross you fingers on this guy.
How did you break the leg off that gorilla figure? Is that the one that fell off the shelf last year?
I'll keep you posted on fixing these two. Just wanted you know the package arrived. Thanks for the 2 chimps and the chimp shoes.

Wow, that's a great memory Angel, Yes that's the poor gorilla that crashed landed in my living room last year.
You're right about the Taylor sculpt. I recently found three new Taylor heads and was able to use two right away, they are in the CW pics I posted with the Federal Marines and Union Sailor. You know, now that I found my lost Taylor sculpts, would you want that one? I'm sure you can fix him, as you are a Master. Maybe you can find some use for him? A backup Omega Man? I'm loving the bearded sculpts you're creating. So if you want you can keep the Train Wreck Taylor. :lol
It's so hot here, not as hot as where PZ is but still close enough. I had to dip my poor old cat under the faucet, ohhh he didn't like it then, but now, I think he's much more happy. :)

Hi Angel! I would love if you could add goatees, mustaches, and sideburns to my hispanic figures. They would make great Mexican soldiers! I also received my pink shirt for my Omega man and a brown sweater for an armondo today. I need to work on the omega man. Again, I will need to get going on finding what to trade to Stickman. I am hoping to get those figures in by tomorrow. I have a lot on my plate trying to get on with this Governmental Security firm (Cross your fingures for me folks). Pictures are sure to come!:horror
Oh, by the way! I do not know where Proto lives, but I would guess that it is a little hotter here in Phoenix than where he is. We have officially attained the hottest summer on record. So many days over 110 and many around 115 degrees. I have worked in 120 to 122 degree heat, not counting on a roof.:maul

Wow, if you were working for IMAX they would shut you down. In order for the film to run it must always be around 70F and 50% humidity. Anything too hot or cold would cause static electricity and the film would attract all the dust particles in the room which would wreck havoc on the film stock.

Here's something else I'll do for you. I'll just keep the broken gorilla body and return the Sideshow body of Cornelius to you. That way, you can have an undamaged body for your gorilla. I don't move my figures around like you do. My apes strike a pose and then hold the pose for years at a time. I'm afraid the fixed leg will just fall off and disappoint you.

I couldn't do that, Angel. I play with my toys, as you guys have seen. Most of the time they are half naked and are piled up together at the moment, but I'm sure they love it. When I get a chance and can get cracking again on customizing, I've got to concentrate on just one figure and complete something and then start up photographing them again. I just have the most fun photographing them in action...and making it seem like they are 1:1 scale.

Just send Taylors head and I'll put the beard on him. No point in paying for the postage for the entire body. Use a hair dryer to soften the head up a little bit and it'll come off very easy.

I had a bag of Taylor heads but I couldn't find them until yesterday, so Until my sleeping meds kicked in last night I updated some of the figures I had into Civil War gear, that's why I posted those pics yesterday. Thanks Angel, I'll send him out early next week, head only. I think this sculpt is the Slave version, as I opened up three of those Taylor/Nova 2 packs long time ago. I'm not really sure, I got them dirt cheap from Amoktime long time ago I think for $25. each when they had a special, it's when I bought the gorillas for $19. and I cleared them out. I figured I could use the stock bodies as replacements but forgot that the feet are in proper scale which makes them too big to wear shoes unless I get a pair in very soft rubber.

Well Angel I'd rather keep them as a complete set and not have to break open any more boxes. I have too much loose gear as it is. However, I do have one loose Slave body left unfortunately he doesn't have the neck post, but the spring, screw, and washer are still intact. I can send you a loose H2 resin gorilla sculpt I have that does have a neck post, but you'd have to un-pry it, which I believe you could. If you want I can scan a picture. Here's my loose dirty slave body. I can send this too if you want.

Oh, no dilemma, I figured maybe Jessica may want to trade for something (like that Mego Gorilla w/open mouth she has) if she didn't have any humans. My sets are boxed and stored but I know where they are and I can get to them. Luckily for me I've been able to use the bodies with large feet with BGT (battle gear toys) becuase his old shoes are very soft leather and stretch over the feet. I have been able to dress 3 of the bodies and this is the forth but as you can see he has no neck post. I figured when I eventually get a HT True type body, which comes with two neck posts I'd be able to fix this guy again. Here's a picture of the gorilla head w/neck post, sorry I didn't white balance my camera and the shot is in very low light. It's too hot to do anything.

Kfog--it's way too hot where you are. Where has our summer gone? It's supposed to be warm, but the hills are covered in fog and the breeze feels like there is a chill.
Congrats PZ on your PF Zaius!! That is awesome!! I know that you have been waiting forever for that bad boy.
Sticks--my journey begins Friday. I have packed and repacked and I still have to purchase some more supplies. One can never pack too many barrels of fresh water. I don't know how fast of a clip we can accomplish, with such a load to bear.
We are bringing a few carrier pigeons with us so that I can at least send word of our successful arrival when we get to the Forbidden Zone. It is a 35-hour journey, a hard ride for the poor horses. We are bringing extra beasts of burden, for every pack horse so that they can take turns hauling the supplies.
Anyway, good night fellow apes. It's time for this monkey to catch some shut eye. Tomorrow is another busy day.

I decided at the last moment to pre-order the Captain, after I already purchased Ursus and the gorilla, so I didn't save on shipping. Thanks a million Jessica. I saw what you wrote, very sweet. Unfortunately the SS stamped photos are SS' and not taken by me. :(
Were you able to conclude my reasoning for collecting like a damn? As that was the Theme this year, and I don't think anyone hit the mark as well as I did. But hey, that was up for them to decide. It just boggles me that it didn't even go up for fan favorite??
Oh well, I'm moving on, luckily that piece can never be taken away from me. :) I just wish SS would have given me some feedback on it and I wish that I could post the video here so others could see it. I've gotten a great response from viewers. Lat year's winner was supposed to be able to make an SS commercial and that never came to light, I wonder why? Some have rumored that it was an inside job, and we all know SS never misleads its fan base.:lol
After I film the GI JOE Film Fest Opener, I plan to work with BGT and make a commercial for Auggie (KFOG knows him,) and then make another Apes film, this time using the HT gorillas and Angel's awesome slave wagon. I'm really looking forward to that.

I'll let you know right now, YES!
If you could take some time, and try to come up with a cool, short story. Remember to focus on action, and not too much dialogue, as getting voice talent, music, sound efx - foley take time.
It would be cool to do another hunt and capture scene, maybe as the first installment?
AS far as credible savage humans I have the following:
2 bridgeKeepers from the Monty Python series (1 was from Angel),
a few dirtied BBi Perfect body chicks which can act as fill,
Nova, Brent, and Taylor of course.
Maybe we could scrounge up a few more savage looking humans.
All the Apes we'll need.
It would be cool to rebuild Ape City, and include some of Jessica's ideas of the Market, Target Range, Human cage?
We'll have to keep the sets at a minimum because everything is filmed inside and space is limited. Also, these sets will have to be destroyed after each completion due to lack of space. I remebered Snick once offered to let me use his old Icurus, but I haven't heard word from him in a very long time. I hope you are well Chris. :wave It would be great to hear from you again and see the updates of your new Icurus, that is if you still visit these parts.
As your ideas come to you I will scout out supplies, such as tall grass, brush, branches and anything else we could use to intertwine with the set. Maybe Jess can donate some more ape colored fabric if we need it for a market scene.
So put that massive cranium to work and lets start with five pages and see what we can come up with. At my level action must speak louder than words so keep it action oriented and we'll see what we can come up with.

Well, when I saw that it wasn't in the Fan favorite mix, I had high hopes that it was going to go for 2nd or 3rd place as SS announced that 1st place was already decided and confirmed. So that's all I knew untill the day the winners were announced. :huh
It was nice that once again the POTA line rained supreme I felt the main theme Was still lacking. Why do you collect like you give a damn? I guess blowing up the Earth and killing billions of people is the SS way. :lol And like last years winner it all revolved around an empty box.

Well... as many of you know (if not ALL) I went to SDCC this year. I did flag down Mat Falls at the Freak party to discuss the current state of Ape collectibles at Sideshow.
I first complemented him on his Zaius sculpt for the PF... and I echoed the disappoint collectors had concerning the fact that he isn't wearing his signature robes. He told me that they still haven't figured out a cost effective way to reproduce his glyphs... even in that scale. He said he wasn't overly happy with they way they were represented on the 12"er either. But he thought that fashioning Zaius with his traveling costume and staging him in the film's most pivotal scene, it would be a fair compromise. I told him that I couldn't agree with him more. That scene is still my favorite of the film and I'm glad that I will have a great statue to represent it. Sorry Jess, I couldn't ask him about the length of the strip in the back of the costume... I figured it wasn't his department. :o
I also asked him about his thoughts about the Hot Toys Apes. He is not a fan of the real hair... and he said he was glad that they didn't persue that route for the PF. He also stated that he didn't have any inside information concerning if there will be any more Apes from them... but he sort of assumed that there was a possibility.
Finally, when I asked about the future of the PF line... his answers became a little guarded. Turns out there is.. or was another figure in the line. He wouldn't tell me directly who it was he sculpted. However, this figure is completely done... ready for production but is now tied up in a legal red tape in regards to getting the likeness approval. He doesn't know when or even if he ever will see the light of day. He said it is sort of out of his hands right now.
Well, I had to ask him one question to possibly get a clue as to who it might be. I didn't want to badger him with any more than a single question. I asked him "could the reason that the likeness is not approved be because that actor is recently deceased and his estate is perhaps trying to protect him." Mat simply smiled and said "... that... could be possible."
So... there appears to be a good possibility that there is a Taylor PF gathering dust in the Sideshow Archives somewhere. :angelsmil
I asked him, besides this tied up piece, is there anything else planned. He said that they are looking at the sales of Zaius very carefully. The initial orders didn't exactly light any fires. But they are going to watch how Zaius performs in the marketplace once it is released to make any decisions as to the line's future. I told him that if there was only going to be one PF I'm glad that is was Zaius.:D

Good going PZ!!! Glad you got to talk to Matt. Yea..the wardrobe malfunction is not in his jurisdiction. A Zaius PF is still fantastic, no matter what.
If they come out with a Taylor PF with a dead-on Heston accuracy, I still wouldn't buy it just because I'm only into apes. It was hard enough to purchase that SS Taylor for me. So right now he's technically the only human I have since everyone else is being churned into apes.

I wonder if they chose to go with Zaius because Hot Toys was already making Ursus? Gorillas sell you know!!
I'm still not a fan of the hair thing either. I almost took my gorilla to bed with me but then I remembered I hadn't really glued his face back on--it's just barely hanging on there since I want to re-do his hair before I glue it back on.

I think it depends on the Taylor for me. There was SOOOO many Taylors in the 12" line. Since Sideshow is always looking at the cheapest way to make their PFs especially in lines that they question it's popularity (se Buffy PF), I'm assuming that he would be in the primitive robes. That would require less "tayloring". Perhaps they would make him clean shaven holding a gun to go with the Zaius PF.
But I think if I had my way, I'd like to have him bearded and in his ANSA uniform as he appeared crossing the Forbidden Zone. :D

I decided at the last moment to pre-order the Captain, after I already purchased Ursus and the gorilla, so I didn't save on shipping. I wrote it on my e-mail at the time of purchase to put the transactions together to save on shipping, but I had a feeling their shipping person didn't really speak English all too well. :monkey4:monkey4:monkey4

According to the seller I bought from, HT was releasing them to the retailers in waves. How true that is, I don't know but Jess got hers (thru ABC express) and I haven't (ordered thru powerful toys) so I sure hope they're not going alphabetically!!

I did, and neither work well, the collar rides too high I think or maybe it was the shoulders. I did not snag that helmet, but I'm sure another one will come another day. You will watch out for me, will you? I was thinking of having someone make me a helmet, and that I would spray it with that car spray for tinting your windows. I needed to sculpt the round helmet around my Zira and then Mooncat was going to vacuform it for me. I would need 3 done, so I would need 3 sculpted helmets so that he could vacuform everything together. But as you can see I've been so busy with other stuff.
Shaun-O it was exciting to see your Dr. Zaius! He looks so wonderful!! You just need to let time unwrinkle his outfit...or if it bugs you then you can always steam off the wrinkles...I would remove the clothing and then steam them. Too bad the notch in the back is still there--but whew!! At least they got the doll legs right!! Dr. Zaius looks very spectacular, and congratulations.
Kfog--My memory is not so great but I think the shirt you got under the right jacket would look good.
Did anybody else do Armando? How come I haven't seen photos of him?
Sticks--Armando looks fabulous as a gladiator!! I would have never pictured him in that but he looks like he fits in just right.

Sticks I love when you mix Star Trek and the apes. And Angel's partition rocks. Mine is still unpainted, but I love it.

So pretty! She would look great as Albina.

Not bad.
I haven't counted in a long time but I was more than 3 full storage bins just of POTA related characters.
Rub it in!! I only have 3 gorillas from SS. The other ones I will have to customize. But no worries. Jessica's Ape City will slowly get built, no matter how long it takes.

Good bye fellow apes. I'll be in transit for the next couple of days and won't have time to check in. I will have to quit the internet cold turkey.

Well great job good sir. I had the Buzz Aldrin but let it go because you're right it wasn't top notch, the half gloves were useless. But, that's kind of the standard for Hasbro.
Little Marcus and Cornelius are so cool, would you mind taking some more shots of them? I love how little Marcus is in the chair. He'll look great in your courtroom diorama, which I hope you complete one day.
Did you ever paint the wall partitions? I love mine. Thanks again.

I know it needs another coat, to clean it up. :)
Sticks - You should paint the partition so that it looks just like rock. At least, that's my plan. The frame itself should look like wood... as you already know. I was going to (really) paint the entire Tribunal Scene about 2 weeks ago, but I had gotten really really sick over that weekend. Since then I've been working on other things so the tribunal waits... Hey! I see that you sewed the apes flag with black thread as I suggested! Nice!

I did, but I turned him and my DML Russell (Russell Crowe) into a Gladiators, for the film that fell through. He looks great as a Retiarius (net-man) gladiator. He's currently stored with my IGNITE Romans, I can did him out at a later date and take pics for you if you want.
Please post some pictures gang. All those folks who bought a Armando head. I can't remember anyone ever posting pictures. :(
Lots of people also picked up the statue of Caesar and again, no pictures.
I guess you guys move even slower than I work on that Tribunal Scene, huh?
Watch this. Jess, did you ever paint the ape chair? How about you Ironman? How about you Enaud? Proto, Hasslein did you guys ever paint Armando? :rotfl

Sticks, how many of those partitions do you have? Might be able to use them in the story.

Armando is still unfinished. He has two coats of fleshtone but I am not satisfied with how he looks.
The chair I had left as it was but have recently been considering a"stone" repaint.
Caesar, the partitions, glyphs and other assorted sculpts I'm still in waiting. Now they are pushed back even farther until I can find work and be able to afford them. :monkey2

Good morning all,
I'm going to be working on cleaning up my Brotherhood of Arms commercial a bit, for some reason when I upload it it gets all blotchy. R&R Customs wants me to post it to their website so they can see it. Kfog my huge civil war order has shipped and Richard said I should be very happy with it, and to expect a big box. I can't wait. I next have to see if they can make me one of those caskets. You and Angel are right, I think poor DEAD Billy Yank will look great in it. I was also thinking of getting the DEAD prophet and dressing him up as a dead confederate soldier. I like his real whiskers, as people of that era were usually grisly and gnarled looking. I'll have to use my reward points unless someone has him and wants to trade?
Angel I would love to give the wall partition a stone look, What paint do you suggest. I have only used Tayami's water based Buff color. I would think a more coarse paint, like the stone spray paints might work. I'm not sure if the particles would be too large for this scale, so all suggestions are welcomed. I have to admit that I cheated on the Flags, I used black markers to create the ring effects. Cameras only see in 2D so I thought it would suffice. I could have presented the flag better but that was a hurried shot I took long ago. You were right however, the black rings add a nice little touch, complimenting the colors of the flag. Thank you again for that suggestion.
IM - I only have this one partition from Angel. I did however buy something a little taller for the Roman set that I thought would work as well, here it is:

BACK

Maybe I could paint the back to match? Do you think this could work? I know it's not as intricate as Angel's. Maybe if used in the background and Angel's partition in the foreground?
Jess
We will miss you, Have a safe flight, and enjoy yourself. Our gorilla garrison will be on full alret during you absense and shall remain so until your safe return. Watch out for those savage humans. :monkey3

I personally can't wait to see this when it is completed. To me this is going to be the best presentation of the line. Everything you have on the table is so perfectly replicated. Just don't do the Hear no evil, See no evil shot.
