Just got him today and he is Bad Ass, they did a really good job on him. The figure's height and weight are really good and the light-up arm cannon is a sweet touch. The barrel plug is not too bad, but I am working on getting it out. Those that are still unsure about getting this, don't be, this guy's is AWESOME!!

I know, my prime isn't the recent 20th Anniversary Prime, it's the one from a few years ago. I am going to get the MP-04 Prime w/ Trailer, even though I love mine the smokestacks do bother me.

Let me just say, this guy was a ^^^^^^ to transform!! I don't think I've ever cursed or taken the Lord's name in vane this much in my entire life. But, the end result is awesome and this ^^^^^er is BIG!

I haven't been into Transformer toys for a while now, but that is extremely cool. I'd love to see them do Shockwave, I'd have to have that one.
I meant to take some pics with the Masterpiece Starscream too, but when I opened the box and saw that he was in Jet mode I said, "^^^^^ that". I wouldn't have finished 'til tomorrow transforming both of those guys. :D

how come you didn't remove the cap? did you get yours from HLJ? if you did, you can remove it. i removed mine.

megs standing next to prime = AWESOME.

from the pics you posted...all prime has to do is punch megs in the legs and he'll fall down.

but if megs has that CANNON pointed point blank at prime...no amount of diecast can save him. :lol

Ah, I see! How is shipping to the States from them? I know Action HQ charges absurd amounts for one 12" figure.

there are two kinds of shipping. standard, and ems. ems is more expensive. i use that cuz it's the fastest...however, with ems, i end up paying the amount my import stores in NY charge me.

for instance.

megs is about $82. with standard shipping, it should come out to 100....? or less. something like that. but with ems, it'll come out to $116.

if you use standard (i have in the past, but a couple more bucks isn't a big deal for me, so i go for ems), it should be way cheap. and reliable.

Thanks Chase!! He is an awesome figure and an amazing design achievement. It didn't even look all that bad with the cap, but looks even better without. As you can see, he looks awesome next to Prime, you need to get one when you get the money!
You'll have something just as good when you get your Endo though! :rock

How short is the Starscream compared to the recently released Classic Deluxe: STARSCREAM?-- Do you happen to have one of those to pose side by side for comparison?... I thought about also ordering the Starscream when I made my second order (after seeing your pics) of the Megatron-- but I'm pretty happy with the $10 G1 Starscream that I picked up.

By the way--- the local Wal-Mart was trying to clear out the 20th Anniversary Optimus Primes as they had six left and they were down to just $25 a pop. If I hadn't already bought it quite awhile ago it was quite a nice surprise. If you missed out on him check your local Wal-Marts and you might find a similar clearance sale if you're located in a collector friendly zone as I am.

I agree, anything transformers Masterpiece or Binaltech are the greatest Transformers ever made.I must admit though,transforming my Megatron in frustation I had a slight temptation to throw it across the room because the directions suck and its like a puzzle transforming these at times,but I love these pieces in the masterpiece Series

It makes sense since they already have the figure worked up, I think it'll look cool

I have a good feeling a masterpiece Grimlock will be coming even though Takara created him a Ford Mustang.They already made Hot Rod (imus) in the Binaltech kiss set as a Ford GT-40 too (that is hot rod for sure).I think they will choose unique characters and Grimlock as a Dinosaur would rule and of course Soundwave needs to be in there too
If they are smart then they will follow that formula, I see nothing but more success for them if they make Masterpiece versions of those characters.

I own an original G1 Shockwave MISB in C9 shape! I could easily get over 300 for it in the condition it's in. Graded it would go for in the thousands. But I don't see too many people who have a Shockwave in my condition. So if I sell him I may have lots of moola, but no minty Shocky which is very rare.

Does anyone have any Diaclone figures here?

I have some old pre Transformers. hehe They are killer! I have a blue Sound Blaster, that has a workable radio and comes with headphones and is MIB. Box is about C8 condition.

I love collecting vintage TFs. I have quite the collection. Old original Transformer blankets. Very rare G1 items that are MIB and MISB... like a Predacon with Glow and the Dark poster. That's about a C9. I have some mail-in TFs. I may start getting into some convention stuff. I also own MP01 Prime. Not the crummy Hasbro version. The Takara one with the long smoke stacks. I got a couple Palisades statues. Some older Marvel TF comics, graphic novels, and some of the newer DW stuff. Bunch of reissues. All the original DVD G1 booksets, except for Season 3 Part 2, Season 4, which my buddy owns. I want that!!!

I got special Gold TFs. Old vintage G1 reading books, colouring books... Transformers: The Movie 20th Anniversary DVD. This really cool book of the history of Transformers.

Before I go and purchase MP05, since nobody gave a crap to answer my question on my Transformers toy forum I post on, what parts are die-cast on ol' MP Megs?

I think they would make an amazing conversational piece, and at 25 US it's a far cry from what we spend money on certain "high-end collectibles."

It's a drop in the bucket at that price, so for what it is, and being a fan of the license, it would seem foolish for Transfans such as ourselves to ignore such a unique collectible.

The reason Takara gave when Starscream was first announced was that they were going to keep them to scale with Masterpiece Prime/Convoy. Prime and Megatron were always taller then the regular sized Transformers like Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Jazz and Ironhide.

If we get anymore Masterpiece characters like Ironhide, Prowl or Ratchet, I believe they will probably be shorter then Prime and the same size as Starscream.

I have a lot of the Takara Re-issues but not all...I think the last one I bought was Blitzwing. I do have a few nice vintage ones including a boxed fully complete working Omega Supreme (I bought 2 and managed to get one working out of the parts), a boxed complete Scorponok, Predaking & King Poseidon too (my favourite gestalt). I heard they are reissue TFs with new sculpts (improved apparently) and packaging.

Encore meaning the originals sold so well, so they release these ones. But Megs and Prime have had several reissues made of them, and this line is only created to allure the fans from the 7.4.7 movie.

BUMPO--- My Masterpiece Megatron finally arrived from BBTS and I have to say that I LOVE it! Also the orange plug was incredibly easy to remove as it came out in about ten secinds of jigglin'.

If you're a TRANSFORMERS fan I strongly recommend that you pick him up to be the yang to your Optimus' ying. Pics to come.

It was humor. It was me being silly. Please don't take everything so seriously. This is a community for toy collectors. One would assume, that a person who collects toys would be more playful. I guess I was mistaken. I am sorry I assumed incorrectly.

But insulting me on that level, doesn't help your case either. You could have handled yourself much better. All you had to say is look I don't find what you said tasteful or funny. Can you please not resort to that kind of humor again? That looks better on your behalf vs. the name calling.

Thinking back on it, I don't know you personally. If you were a friend, or even someone I am friendly with, like the Ill Jedi for example, I could see where that brand of humor would be more excepted. So based on that, perhaps I took liberties and went too far. For that I apologize. Again, the intent was to make fun of the situation in a playful friendly matter. I really like MP Megatron but he's hardly perfect. MP Prime is 10 X's better IMO. :monkey3 He's got a ton of cool features but there are a few things that bug me about the figure.

Megs is way too fragile and has too many "shell" parts. The hip pieces and arm parts fall off too easily. Also the figure looks horrible from behind. I know, who's going to look at the back of the figure but still, all those exposed parts hanging out of the back are ugly. MP Prime doesn't have any of these flaws. Also, where's all the die-cast parts? Takara said that Megs would be 50% die-cast metal when the figure was announced last year.

Originally the Ultra Magnus toy was supposed to Prime's new body just like Galvatron was for Megatron. In the first few scripts of TF:the Movie, the original idea was for Megatron to mortally wound Prime and then have Perceptor, Wheeljack, and Ratchet build him the Magnus "armor" as a life support system.

Hasbro nixed the idea. They thought Rodimus was a better idea. :rolleyes:

No kidding. Plus I always hated Rodimus; too bad Prowl was killed or he would have taken command. Prowl is my favorite transformer ever, hands down. I was so mad they killed him, even more than when they killed Optimus. I knew Prime would be back, but Prowl? It made me pretty upset. It is the Hasbro version, but it's not the 20th Anniversary DVD Prime. This one is from a few years ago and is far better, the paint, the gun, the overall figure is much better than the 20th Anniversary. Yes it sucks that it doesn't have the long smokestacks, but I am planning on getting an MP-04 too for the smokestacks and the trailer.

What an amazing figure. I had to cancel ol' Megatron from BBTS too. I wish I hadn't.

It's hard to stop when I've already got MP-01, MP-02, MP-03 and MP-04.

BBTS also has pictures of MP-06 Skywarp. (Repainted Starscream in mostly purple, black, silver and grey.)

i noticed BBTS is sold out of megatron. I guess they'll be a another shipment but i imagine it won't stay at the $99 price tag.

The designer of Masterpeice Starscream felt that the jet mode should be modeled after the blueish/green color of the japanese version of the jet. Theres quite a few things this "Designer" shouldn't have done and should be fired for:

1. change the original colors.
2. emphasizing too much on the jet mode.
3. give him a feminine anime sleek look with long legs (which he admitted to).
4. Making this figure more like a model kit by using thin plastics and letting you apply those stickers which will fall off after a few years.

Haven't picked up a STARSCREAM MASTERPIECE yet (although he is my favorite character) but you're post is seriously making me think that might be a good idea... Still though--if I can find one cheap.

And I snagged one of the Megatrons from BBTS--- and I'm glad that I did. Phenomenal fig---and he'll always stay in robot mode cause I'm not going through the hassle of transforming him!!!

i agree with you on these...still a nice piece but i think the stickers are going to keep me from pulling the trigger on this version....and not being in scale.

I got my Megatron Masterpiece through BBTS and it was shipped to Canada with absolutely no probs---

If you want one Eli and they have some in stock I would highly recommend getting it from BBTS.

BBTS has been out of megatron for a few weeks now or i would have ordered from them...i got it for $10 more at $109 which is what i expect BBTS to bump theirs up to when they get another shipment.

I just finished putting up a ceiling fan and checked my email and they SHIPPED my megatron! we'll see but if they shipped it same day (i chose USPS Priority mail) I'll be really happy with them. I should have it by Friday if they did ship it.

i received the Transformers cartoon complete collection(Chinese version) yesterday and I am highly impressed. I was surprised at all I saw when I opened up the box. First they included a Transformers paper bag with symbols on opposing sides(nothing big but a neat surprise) and then the actual tin comes in a Transformers box with the sticker seal being a deception sticker. Then I opened up the tin and there is a Transformers key chain and tons of picture prints and the cd's are incased in their own color case with pictures on each slip case for each DVD. I love the tin box, very nice...doesn't seem like too think of metal though so I wouldn't stack books on top of it or anything. The fact the DVD menus are in Chinese took a second to figure out but the shows looks great...doesn't look like they touched them up too much if at all but that's the way I wanted them.

Really, really happy with this purchase. btw Starscream, depending on the angle of the shot, looks like he is shorter than I remember...looks like the top of his heads is a little below Megatron's shoulders. that makes the Masterpiece Starscream a lot more appealing to me....still really bothered by the color change though. i've finished watching the first 3 show..only 80 something to go!

$75 from Amazon....they were $50 a few months back but increased i guess because of the movie that is coming out. i thought about getting the rhinos but didn't want to spend what it costs to get them all. thanks for the Starscream pics in this thread...i look at them frequently.

Yeah what the crap? Leader Prime is 39.99 US at the American TRU yet is priced 69.99 Cdn in the Canadian TRU. Here's why I am upset. We are now sitting at .93 cents to the American dollar and still continue to climb. Where the crap does the Canadian TRU get off making us pay 30 dollars more? I go to my collector store now, and if something is in Previews at say, 60 bucks, good chance I'll be paying around that in Canadian dollars, even though everything in Previews is quoted in American prices. So if some little hole in the wall, mom and pop operation can bring in something at what our dollar is currently worth, why does some big fat arse toy company like TRU which gets these toys in the arse load, go off selling us these toys at such crazy inflated prices, as though our dollar never left the .65 tag it was worth in comparison to the American dollar back in 1999?! It's 2007 TRU. Keep up with the times!

End of Rant! Luckily for us Canadians, 90 percent of us live an hour away from the American border. Just go to the US and pick em' up! Save a good penny, two, or three thousand!

I just bought the movie brawl he's a pretty awsome toy. Some of the new movie figures are apparently tought to trasnform back and forth, but they look cool so I'll grab some more. I really want to get ahold of the Transformers Classics Soundwave since he's just a re-issue of the old G-1 toy, but its a toys R US exclusive and Hasbro wont print the package in english AND french so they cannot ship to Quebec. well it came in today. the site in question shipped the same day i ordered. they did mess up and shipped it UPS ground instead of the USPS Priority I paid for but they said they would refund the difference and apologized. They also had great communication.

Megatron arrived today in perfect shape. He is awesome. I will never transform him into the gun though, as i haven't went back to college and obtained a second degree in mechanical engineering yet. oh yeah, no orange cap on mine. anyway, as far as i'm concerned the website gets an A. i would have used BBTS but he was out of megatrons. anyway here's the site again:
