Nope. Didn't watch the first one, so no.
The average film goer didn’t hate this film. They just didn’t like it a whole lot.
The Ghostbuster fans wouldn’t settle for anything less than the entire original cast returning....and honestly there is almost zero chance that movie would have been good also.
It was a lose lose proposition which is why they never made a 3rd...
I mean honestly GB2 is pretty bad anyway.

It's just misunderstood. It warrants hate, but there's slightly more pros than cons. Of course it's an inferior sequel, but most are.
Not even going to comment on this abortion that lived rebutt series.
GB, like so many 80's "franchises," is in fact one great movie and some other branded stuff that followed (that sometimes had a few moments that came close to the original, but overall were not even 50% of the original) - BTTF, ROTLA, Gremlins, Robocop are in the same boat.
Feig says it's up to the studio. My guess is the studio didn't like the low box office totals it made compared to what they wanted it to make. I can't see this being made.
