This looks AWESOME! I REALLY hope that Sideshow makes something like this in 1/4 scale.

Great job Koto! PERFECT!

I first read about this a month or so ago. I had no idea it would look this good. This looks to be their best yet!

Very cool Koto piece. These things are very nice the Kotos that is. I'll most likely get this but I hope SS or GG does this character as well.

You can be sure that GG will do busts of all the clone troopers from Episode III. They're good a reusing busts with new paint jobs. :dunno

I've noticed that but they gotta do a statue of this guy or Commander Cody.

GG will have to do different sculpts for the ROTS clones.

jlcmsu
06-13-2005, 03:56 PM
Yeah, obvisouly they can't do that sculpt but something similar and I'm in for sure.

That koto statue looks like it's Commander Appo. I will give this one some serious thought.

Here are the commanders:

Some potentially sweet statues are coming our way if these are anything to go by. :rock

i will be getting one of these. i just got the new ESB Yoda and Koto keeps getting better and better. i still think the Maul is my favorite but the boba fett and ESB Yoda are my next two in line.

im still on the fence on whether or not to get the new Vader though i have the first one and dont want to box one of them up and it would be cheesy to have both on display.

jlcmsu
06-13-2005, 06:44 PM
Yeah, it appears to be him as well Gaz. They could do a lot of sweet Clones which would be just fine with me.

it would be cheesy to have both on display.

I'm gonna have to disagree with this. I will have both Vader 1 and 2 also the GG Vader statue and the new GG Vader bust. So if its cheesy then call me pepper jack :lol

Yeah, this is gonna be an awesome piece. Koto does a good job so have no worries on the quality of the product.

Excellent Pose! Well done Koto. I may have to get one of these now.

jlcmsu
06-15-2005, 09:43 AM
Fritz you should. The statues themselves are great and very well done. The only thing I don't care for as much are the bases, but the statues make up for that little complaint.

I am getting this baby for sure!!!:eek :thud Any news on its release date?

Owners of the clone trooper (AOTC): is it worth buying?

jlcmsu

I asked bob last night and he said he didn't know. This could be like a couple of others they have done and be a SWS exclusive.

Gazmog

What are your views of the clone trooper from Ep2?

I am thinking of buying it so any comments would be welcomed. Do you have to assemble these figures? I have never seen these in person, so I am ignorant about anything to do with Kotobukiya. :D

What are your views of the clone trooper from Ep2?
I think it would go very well with the Ep. 3 figure pictured above. If you like action figures, then you'll LOVE these. I have the 2 SW Shop Exclusive Sandtroopers, and I'm selling them. I really don't like Koto pieces at all. I took one look at both of these, put them back in the box, and immediately sold them.

Keep in mind that there is are several expensive variations of the Ep. 2 version that came out only in Japan. The blue and red were both limited to 1000 each, and go for a high amount on Ebay. Sound familiar?:lol Here are current auctions for both:

Blue-cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI...eName=WDVW (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50263&item=5981641457&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

Red-cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI...eName=WDVW (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50263&item=5981641923&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

Do you have to assemble these figures?
Yes, but it is very easy. It really is no more difficult than your average GG mini-bust.

jlcmsu
06-15-2005, 01:18 PM
I dont have any of the clones so this will be my first.

They are really easy to put together. Not much to it at all.

If you like action figures, then you'll LOVE these.

That but also if you just like cool SW stuff then you'll like these. I mean they are SS or GG by any means but they are very good and cool items.

I saw those too and hated the look of them. :\ The clone trooper from Ep2 and this bad boy look great, and these would be the only ones (at this stage) that I would shell out money for. The current trooper looks good from one what I've seen of him...but I would value a collector's pics just to convince me it's worth taking the plunge and ordering him.

I saw those ***. auctions...and I thought...nope, not going to that extreme. :thud

Then again, El, I may end up doing the same thing you did...sell them. :lol

No problem. Thats how they all come and then you put them back together. When they are done though I don't think you can tell.

That does really look nice. How do these things work ... they models that you assemble, made of vinyl, Correct?

Absolutely right!

I went ahead and ordered that clone trooper from Ep2. can't wait to see it. The nice thing about this purchase is that I will not be a passive observer: removing it and displaying it, but I will have something 'to do', which makes a refreshing change. :lol Imagine if Grievous was self-assembly. :p :thud

Yeah, till one wants to fight ya a little then you'll want to toss him :p

Nah, they areally aren't that bad. They do put off a nice Vinyl oder for a bit though.

I hope this is the prelude to seeing more commanders emerge from Koto. We've seen Appo, next we should have Cody (SWS.com exclusive, for example), Gree, Neyo, Bly, Bacarra, etc

Oh how I love to dream...and dream I will after seeing this guy. :drool

It even looks better in person than the pictures... I'm getting this and the Anakin ROTS. The Anakin base will fit in front of the Vader 2 base...
