if we look at the picture from SS' side, it is obvious that this line might be cancelled in the near future.

Lurtz, regardless of how a great statue he is, still not sold out due to high ES.
Frodo should never been approved in the first place due to bad face scuplt, he is also avaliable even with the ES of 1000.

I have both items and I want to buy more LOTR, (regardless of the character I will buy) but SS would want to see that they can sell LOTR PF's.

if I was working for SS, I would ensure:

the face sculpt to be perfect, ES should be kept reasonable & item shall come with an exclusive

Sideshow's too busy pumping out Marvel and Star Wars products to be ashamed of anything. It isn't funny, but it is laughable.

You know SS has previewed a few items in the blogs section including a SW action figure, a Rocky bust. All items which were months from shipping. I cannot see why they cannot throw us a bone on this line. :D

When they eventually preview the newest PF, it better be an explosive display of craftsmanship and a universally wanted character. If another "Frodo face" comes down the pipeline, extinction seems to be the only appropriate word for this line.

If this next announcement isn't an absolutely perfect sculpt and outfit, I'm out completely. I'll sell the 2 I have and give SS a nice big middle finger for wasting my time.

But I have faith that after 14+ months, they can at least get us a quality product.

Technically, we still don't have the official announcement page of the GTW PF, with a preview pic.

What we have is a pre-announcement announcement.

That's okay; I'll have the funds in May 2008, when the GTW finally ships. :D

Wishful thinking! It took Frodo a year from ordering to shipping. Gandalf will probably be more complex. I would say that the only way we could see Gandalf next May would be if we ordered him this week. If they put him up for preorder around SDCC this year, we can expect him to ship next summer. (At best, he will originally be announced as a Q2 release and updated to a Q3 by Christmas.)

I will be shocked it we have him in hand as early as next May. (But I would love to be wrong!)
