10mill thickness about 5 ftoot long Would this support a large amount of weight? examples of peices i would be displaying would be.

Bowen thanos, juggy, Sideshow Hulk PF and HulkVs spidey, Xmen vs sentinel.
Anyone out there have pictures of there displays on glass shevling with simlar statues?

I know that Detolfs are commonly used for stuff. They are a decent size, and you can fit a nice number of stuff in them. I am also pretty sure that they will hold quite a bit of weight. Marvel stuff shouldn't be a problem at all. You can pick them up at any IKEA location. I hope this helps you some.

Detolfs are nice, but they only have a capacity for about 13 lbs a shelf, much of the Marvel line is either too big or too heavy for the shelving. Of course you could put them on top or on the bottom shelf.

That length would concern me a bit. I know from personal experience that glass shelves can be mightily strong. Heck, I have my 73" HDTV sitting on a glass shelf and it's just fine, but it is supported at several points, rather than just at the ends. If the five foot shelf at least has supports in the center, then I would think it will be OK. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't trust it.

I'm on the lookout for a nice case for my Marvel stuff. The HULK PF just throws such a wrench into it because it's so much bigger and heavier than anything else. It's hard to display things on the same shelf as it because it's so dominating.

Same here. I'm thinking of having one Custom made, but let me know if you find a nice suitable one.

Glass looks like a museum but due to Turkey is in Earthquake zone, I can not trust glass even if it is 1 cm thick. I am planning to order custom wooden shelving for my room in october.

Bowen are light if you are using a detolf, but I would strongly suggest you to change the shelves to thicker ones for SS statues.

I was toying around with the idea of wood. I find it lighting statues more difficult with wood its like a bookcase. Space is confined, but at least you know that your shelf wont shatter! I dont live in an earthquake zone either.

Anyone use 10 mm thick glass tempered? If so what do you have on top of it.

I have glass shelves in all my Billys. That's 36" I think. I have 3 PFs on one of them and it seems fine.

Dave, do they still sell the Billy and do you have to buy the glass shelves seperate?
