I know I would!
I, like many, missed out on the Doom PF and I love the Comiquette line. Perhaps, a standing Doom with electric bolts coming out of his hands. :monkey5

I want Doom comiquette but i doubt it will dominate the PF. I kinda like the mixed media on the PF. I'll post some pics as to how I want my Doom to look.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm yeah. I'd like a Doom, since the 2nd market value on the PF is insane. UNLESS someone wnats to sell me 1 at a reasonable price:lol NO BOLTS OUT OF HANDS though, please!

Agreed. We need some different characters. Make Thor not Doom AGAIN!

You'll see an Iron Man PF before you see a Doom comiquette.

A Doom comiquette would be a waste of time. I rather they spend time on a Silver Surfer comiquette. The only reason why anyone would ask for a Doom comiquette is because they missed out on the PF. The problem with that is that the next Fantastic 4 movie does not feature Doom so there is no "reason" to do one. Most Marvel Sideshow stuff has a movie connection even though is comics based. Not to mention Doom PF can't be topped so why spend time on something that you know won't live up to what you have done before. If anything, the demand for the PF would increase even more and you'll have Doom comiquette sitting there waiting to be sold out like Magneto comiquette.

SLF hit it on the nail. :clap

Just know that a new Doom wouldn't even come close to filling the hole the old one has left in your soul.

Yep, they need to move on...Doom PF, Doom archive set, Doom bust...too much Doom.....

Plus, it could devalue my Doom Exclusive PF! :D

I know we have a lot of X-Men characters already, but I'd love to see a Nightcrawler. It would look great with some blue smoke around the base.

They need to do PF's of Classic Iron Man and Brown suit Wolverine. Then they can be done repeating characters. :) Not that I'd mind seeing a Thor or Hawkeye PF first though.

I don't think there's any reason to do comiquettes of characters featured in definitive PF's (Hulk, Doom, and Cap).

I think they shouldn't waist their time on another doom; it won't get any better than the PF. SS should start opening up the book of other, new characters, like Thor, Silver Surfer, and a few not very popular x-men like cable or colossus. My 2 cents.

Maybe when SS picked up the Marvel license they only got a handfull of characters?

I wonder how that works, if by getting the Marvel license does SS get every character there in, or does Marvel offer "package" licenses.

Maybe all SS has is Doom, Ironman, Spiderman, Cap, Hulk, and a few X-men. Marvels heavy hitters.

A Silver Surfer comiquette seems to make the most sense. He hasn't been done yet, and the new movie coming out make him the most logical choice. But I'm sure we'll get another Spider Man.

I think they will always default to low risk characters or movie tie-in characters. The most recent example here is Magneto. Well known and popular X-Men villain. Exclusive is 500 units (although the base says 1,000 due to an error) but he can't seem to sell out. I know a lot of people here want obscure characters. I am one of them. The question is how many people will put up the money when the time comes for your card to get charged.

I would love a Black Bolt, Namor, Black Widow or Ms Marvel PF but I know the chance is small since these are not "first tier" characters.

How about an Iron Man / Doom "vs" piece?

The only other Doom I'd buy would be as a vs. piece featuring the FF4. Otherwise, Thor or some major X-men character would be pretty cool!:D

SLF

the reason magneto still did not sold out is (I belive) the bad teeth and the extra ordinary pose and cape chosen for the comiquette. I have him and also another complaint would be the paint aps.
he is nowhere near the iron man comiquette.

if he was having a better pose and the teeth and paint aps were better, I am sure it would sold out by now.

I think it was more the sculpt sideshow chose that caused people not to buy it!

I agree. Bad sculpt choice. One of the few marvel pieces I have no desire to get.

The execution of the Magneto comiquette is pretty cool from a technical and creative point of view. Even if you ignore the dreaded "Pablo-teeth", it's a pretty cool standalone piece the same way the Ghost Riders were.

Magneto is more popular than Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider has a movie. Character with hype sells better. Not-so-risky more-popular character like Magneto without movie doesn't.

i think sideshow should let us, collector community, choose what kind of pose the next character should do.

I also have some kinda same opinions on this. May be not to all of us but SS can choose from some freaks on this board and have their opinions before approving a statue. Of course all information shall be strictly kept confidential.

I, trust that I will be a good candidate for this

I have no interest in a Doom Comiquette.

Why would I when I already got a PF exclusive? :D

I would...I mean..... A Iron Man *cough* *cough* PF would hopefully own the Doom PF.

Doom vs Iron man would kick arss!

So, for all you guys who say that you DON'T want to see one made, how many of you DON'T have the PF Doom????????

SolidLiquidFox
02-28-2007, 05:04 AM
Definitely a good idea down the road but I think we all prefer to see other matchups first. I rather get other Vs dioramas like:

Original Human Torch Vs Submariner
Loki vs Thor
Surfer Vs Thanos (lightup Infinity Gauntlet)
Daredevil Vs Bullseye
Naked Emma Frost vs Naked Shanna The She-Devil :D

I dont. Had multiple chances to grab the exclusive at retail, but Doom just isn't a favorite character of mine.
