View Full Version : Grey Hulk or Iron Man Exclusive...Which Would You Choose?

If you had the chance to buy either at the same price, which would you choose? Think in terms of aesthetics and investment, rather than which one you read the most as a kid.
I'd go with the Hulk. I think there's still a good chance we'll see an Iron Man PF in one of his more classic suits. The Hulk is definitive.

Ed, I have the Iron Man Exc., IM is not one of my favorite Marvel characters but let me just tell you that this statue is gorgeous! Pictures really don't do it justice. As far as the Hulk PF goes, get yourself a Green, you'll be so much happier. :)

If I had a choice, I would go for Iron Man. Even though it's not his classic armor, it's still an awesome looking piece from the pictures I've seen. And regarding the gray Hulk, to me he is supposed to be green. He was gray the first issue and changed to green because his color came out different when the comic was printed. Sure they brought the gray Hulk back later on, but he should be green. Just my opinion.
I personally prefer both regular editions more.
However for investment reasons, then of course the exclusives would make more sense.

Gray Hulk is best, investment wise. IM is best look wise , just soooo detailed, IMO.

there could potentially be another IM coming out in the future that might dent the value of the IM comiquette.
There wont be another Hulk to ever knock Andy's off its pedestal.
IMO, ignore value, and just pick up the one you'd get if they were both worthless.

Does anybody really display the IM with Tony's head? It's a nice sculpt, but it just seems silly.

Agreed. The shadow of an Iron Man PF standing on a classic museum pose is always looming. Especially when the IM movie comes out.
Remember, most of the Sideshow Marvel releases are comic based sculpts but usually follow some kind of movie correlation.

Hulk, but since you have the green (which I think it looks much better); in your case Ironman might be a better choice.

For me, Iron Man. I really don’t like the Sideshow Hulk, even though as far as characters go I like the Hulk more, but the Sideshow piece doesn’t interest me.

I cancelled the IM Ex with a smile on my face. I never could have done that to my Grey Hulk PF. But to be honest, I think the green version looks a bit better, judging the pix I've seen here on the board. But can't afford both versions, since I collect quite a lot of SSC items...

What about Iron Man would be mixed media? I don't get where you would put cloth or leather or really anything.

i asked this very question and the response I got was that the Mummy was initially going to be wrapped with cloth but did not go so well so SS went with sculpt instead but still considered PF :dunno

I don't have one...yet, but I think cloth would've been awesome. When I do get one I was thinking of applying gold leaf to the sarcophagus. Really pimping it out!:rotfl

Hard to say. If it looked really good it could increase it. I would pay retail for the Hulk AB customized with shredded pants. Even if it wasn't he that did it. Looks better.

2. Not iconic or popular
That's why most of us are sure that there is a Silver Surfer comiquette coming to us sooner rather than later. At the very least, a Surfer Vs Thanos. It's all movie related and low risk (popular) characters. Even if they are repeats like Hulk Vs Spidey and then Hulk PF soon afterwards. Heck, with Magneto still not sold out you can't blame SS too much on the low risk characters.
If the next PF release is something out of left field like Namor, Black Bolt, Cable, Black Panther or Multiple Man then I'll disregard my Iron Man PF theory. :D

Glad you like it buddy. It's a nice stand alone piece even if you are not a bust collector. The exclusive is a MUST for this one. :cool:

i do most of the time. great sculpt and it reminds me of the humanity of the character rather than the mechanical side.
