Building the ultimate Terminator pistol replica AMT hardballer longslide w lasersight

I want share few photo about my last work. My favorite Terminator movie was everytime the T1. As collector i tryed find the best possible prop what exist. If somebody want replica, mostly try find a Endoarm, brainchip or endoaskull. I have owned a endoarm, brainchip.

But i feel still i dont have the ultimate replica, what im lookin for. But solution was close to me, what is the most iconic item in the first movie? the longslide what used Arnold on the promotional photos too.

Story:
Original in 1984 the laser sights was primitive, need extra size battery, big switch to operate. Only two weapon was builded with laser sight in this times: Colt trooper and Ruger mini 14, because on this weapons have special part, space to hold the battery too. This was the reason Arnold need wear wires under the jacket, what connect the battery, switch to the sight. On the pistol one side we can saw tape, what hold these cabels.

Project:

1.,this replica common part is the longslide it self. As normal people, i cant buy real working weapon, just airsoft. So i have hunted around a half year to find one. After long searching i have fund Tokyo Marui Amt hardballer. But the colors was not accurate, too dark and tooo plastic. I need paint with silver chrome to get better look.

2.,laser unit. The laser was builded three component: NPC grip mount, scope ring (80' style with big screw),laser unit house from surefire.
I think the first two was ,,easy" to find. I need around a half year and some luck. The laser house is different, these old style laser is not currently under production, because using vintage technologie. But i have luck too with this piece, i have successfully get the original laser house sizes to reproduce. I maked hand drawings and i need found a CNC specialist to creat a hand drawings a real life item. For this was again around a half year.

The last piece, the bigger wheel i have found before few weeks.

I somebody have interest, i can try build a another one. PM me in this case.

Just avoid, on every country is the airsoft pistol rules different. In UK need make the pistol to two tone, in USA orange tip etc. In my country we dont need ,,mark" the airsoft pistol.

Yes, i have worked hours on it to look so.

The sanding the the special grip was hard, my fingers was black

The laser house manufacturing was a very long process, i can find very hard a CNC manufacturer who have time and interest to manufacture only 1 piece.

But the work time make a excellent result. With using original parts making this replica authentic.

That's how I knew this took a lot of work. I can see the custom machining that needed to be done. I'm surprised you even found a shop willing to do this.

I know of places that can complete an 80% AR15 lower receiver (by CNC, milling, drill, routing, etc) but they won't bother unless I have at least 20 of them.

You see good. before i have success, i have asked all of my country CNC shop....what was the answer? we have no resource,...we have no tools.

Only one small shop answered me, the main problem in my country the maximum deep what can these shops drill is 5-6cm, for deeper dril need order tool (what i need pay myself)

However, this process was long. I started with hand drawings in early summer 2015, the guy finished 2015 december, because he was busy. So im lucky, but im respect to the proffesional and i paid all fee-s what he asked from me.

I have talked 1-2 guy, but all have bad vision about value \ creating same detailed laser house replica, he thinking this is a easy thing, process. Not easy, not fast and not cheap!

And i have not talked the mechnics part, original i dont give the CNC shop any instruction how will hold all part together, the shop owner designed me screw lines to the fron\end, so the final piece was, not just simply push together piece.

Im currently working on a second one and i can sell this piece if somebody have interest and big fan of terminator.
