barbie batman for possible customs or suit display

got mine about a hour ago ,been messing around with him ,tried a man of steel body too long in the torso ,could cut suit at waist and add a add some fabric or tape it shut and cover with the belt possibly ,but i went for a max agresion figure ,more muscular and shorter torso ,
the mattel figures not too terrible and has a surprise or two ,movie masters zod arms ,muscular tors with a overlay even more muscular front piece with the suit and emblem attached to it ,anyway heres the pictures ,poor light and over excited that's my excuse lol
suit is good and has a little stretch
mask nice and soft almost rubbery
boots soft and have a split in the back to help them fit on the feet
belt good
gauntlets really soft rubbery stuff too small for max aggression as is , but would fit other figures
capes really good




sorry for the crap pictures but the lights not good and my phone isnt the best for pictures ,keep in mind this was just thrown together and i cant really see what im doing ,but should help any that were interested in using barbie bats for a custom or suit display to decide if it meets your requirements .ill try to finish him off tomorrow and get a couple of better pictures

lights a little better but my phone and pictures are still crap lol ,but should give anyone interested ,not sure anyone is lol ,a idea if this would work for them as kitbash material




messing around with the cowl ,tried the adam west face plates in for a laugh ,but they didnt look too bad to me anyway lol



and with the ken ben head ,it would look better with a repaint or a bit os 5 o'clock shadow ,and black round the eyes ,but i might go down the face plate route ,see whats out there that fits something like ,got the barbie glove cuffs to fit ,and just painted some hands

i repainted the face and blacked around the eyes and cut out the face section ,i thought the full head was deforming the nice look of the empty cowl ,not sure it really made any improvement but i like it better lol

glad you found it useful and found something to like about it ,
to be honest the suit is probably worth the $40 on its own .shudder to think what a 1/6 scale screen printed body suit would cost when i see what custom clothing costs on ebay

I agree, $40 for the suit alone is a good price. I'm not a fan of this suit or any of the other movie suits really, I like comic versions better, so I'll probably pass even on the HT figure. But if I was interested, this would be something I'd consider doing for a custom given the price of HT's and things that HT needs to improve upon with their current proto figure. You've done a very good job with this figure, Congrats.

Wow, that suit is amazing for a Barbie. I had no intention of buying the Hot Toys versions but for this price I think these might be my first customs. Keep the pics coming Libb.

Digging this figure. I'm not sure of I'm going to go 1/6 for this movie unless it surprises me but that suit and a Hot Toys cowl might be half the price of the HT figure.

not sure your sacrifice was worth it but its done now

and after changing the hands and giving him a grapple gun i think im done lol

your wonder woman looks terrific ,as do your flash and green lantern ,my wonder woman is just the mattel multiverse 12 inch repainted and real hair added with a custom sword and shield thrown in for good measure lol

Really like what you did there... Would never guess she was a Mattel...

the armored batman is the mattel from the same line as the wonder woman
or should i say ,its most of him lol , i cut him up and dremeled him hollow and fitted him over a hot toys zod suit on a bulky / slim hybrid body , re caped him and repainted ,it was a lot more work than i expected but looks better than i expected so a fair trade off in the end lol

Wow. Great idea getting the Ben Affleck face sculpt from an old Daredevil figure! The end results from that were great. I didn't really even remember there being a movie Daredevil figure that scale, but that worked out great for what you needed.
