View Full Version : The INDIANA JONES Thread

Since the ALIENS thread began almost a year ago, a lot of amazing things have happened...especially tomorrow!
So, in keeping with the "good luck" these threads may hold, I was inspired to start a general topic thread... inspired tonight by Indiana Fett's new sig which includes a pledge of hope for INDIANA JONES 1/6th and PF display items.
With the movie officially announced, and SDCC coming soon, this is as good a time as any to really get this "Indy Chant" going...
And I personally hope that Sideshow starts off a 1/6th line with the movie that started it all...THE greatest Indy adventure of them all...
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
Here's the post that got this going:
Thanks Wor-Gar, After seeing no SS Indy items announced at ToyFair2007, I felt it was time to kick my 'pledge' into high gear with a full-fledged banner! I've altered it slightly now to include the 'Civil War' thing...keep it topical amongst my fellow freaks on the board! Glad to see you joining in for the pledge...you've been one of my greatest supporters since day one, but with your avatar, I'd expect nothing less!
Let's keep our fingers crossed for that announcement at SDCC...If I'm not mistaken, SS did mention that a new licence will be announced this summer...July 1st is Indy's birthday...May 22nd is the ONE year until Indy IV mark...Man, It just seems like such a given...C'mon Sideshow, give me that announcement I've been dying for for years!!! :D

Couldn't have said it any better myself Wor-Gar! Hope my new sig image inspires EVRYBODY to get on board with the chant! I actually started an "Indy!!!, Indy!!!, Indy!!!" thread last July after Tom's wish for a "Fett!!!, Fett!!!, Fett!!!" PF came true with an announcement. The mods have since moved it to the 'Product License Requests' Forum here:
http://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10316
But hey, no harm in getting a newer, fresher thread going here in the "General Movie/TV Collectibles" forum...and please SS, when you DO make that announcement (and I know you will within the next year :D), please make sure you take Wor-Gar's advice and launch the line with the iconic Indiana Jones from the film that launched that started it all, Raiders of the Lost Ark...
In the meantime, Let's get the ALL-NEW chant going...
Indy!!! Indy!!! Indy!!!

I'm right there with you guys. Indy 12" figures, PFs and dioramas (Indy fighting the Nazi under the Flying Wing, anyone?). Bring 'em all on!
It's funny...just the other day I was watching The Searchers, which got me to thinking about the John Wayne PF, which got me to thinking how great an Indiana Jones PF would be. Then I realized I should pay attention to the movie. :monkey4

That is funny. :D Just pray you don't go to watch Indy four and starting thinking what scene would make a good inspiration to a PF and then think back to the John Wayne PF because that would suck.

I love his Mola Ram, but never bought one.
I do have one of his Indiana Jones, and let me tell you, that was truly money well-spent! He even gave me one of his newer sculpts, fit the clothes to a sideshow body, and threw in a free medallion!! A truly amazing artist.

Nah, I figure that since it's another Lucasfilm license, and SS already have the license for Star Wars through LF, and it covers all SIX films AND the E.U., I would imagine a similar license for the world of Indy...Surely both LF and SS know how much collectors would not only want various incarnations of Indy from each film, but also characters like Belloq, Toht, Mola Ram, Short Round and Henry Sr. to name a few...

Start with THE classic... RAIDERS!
No doubt they'll give us the first film in some format, most likely 1/6th.

The Sovereign Studios fig is OK but IMO this is the 1/6 Indy that all other companies should strive to beat,
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r142/bcm77/indy.jpg
It's made by Arnie Kim,the maestro behind the amazing Bruce Lee figures that are being marketed by Enterbay and it's my hope that they can get the OK from Lucasfilm to release this figure. It wouldn't be cheap, especially if a diorama was included but like the GOD Bruce Lee it would be the ultimate 1/6 scale rendition of the character.

I could deal with two Premium Format figures:
Classic Indy (i.e., "Raiders")
"New" Indy (INDY IV)
And then a whole bunch of 1/6 figures: Multiple Indy figs, Marion, Belloq, Toht, Diedrich, Sallah, Mola Ram, etc.
I could live without Short Rond or Willie figures, though.

Well especially since I'd be buying at least 4 myself...one for each corner of my 'theater room'! :naughty
...Kidding about how many I'd buy of course, but indeed I agree pjam, this would be a HUUUUGELY popular PF if it were the ROTLA Indy in a REALLY cool pose. It would have to be an 'iconic' or 'classic' pose IMHO...less action like the Cinemaquette™, which is cool in it's own way, but I'd like to see more of a "Trust Me" look out of Indy and his stance for the PF...casual, but cool! :D
As for the Golden Idol as the exclusive...what if that (and the Staff of Rah medallion for that matter) came with the regular (along with his gun of course!) and the exclusive were the Map to the Chachapoyan Temple, or the sandbag. I think I'd be upset if I couldn't get my hands on the exclusive for some reason and didn't score the idol or the medallion.

I'd just like to add my $.02 and say that I've always thought Indy Jones was the best thing Lucas has ever done. I like Star Wars, too, but when there were still only two or three SW movies out, Indy was by far my favorite. Like many of you, I've been waiting decades for someone to do the definitive Indy in 1:6 or 1:4 scale. About 10 years ago I managed to grab two Toys McCoy Indy Jones ROTLA figs (and the Arabian horses too!) when they were first released here in Japan, (AND got a 20% discount off the SRP!) from a friend who owns a small toy shop. They're still the nicest Indy figures made to date (not including custom figs) that I know of... Of course, they're older gen figures, so there are issues with the clunky GI Joe figure bodies they used and a few other minor points, but the head sculpt was done by Hama (of Billiken fame), and it's still one of the best IMO. But there's ALWAYS room for more Indy, and with all the improvements in 1:6 scale figures now, Sideshow ought to be able to make a really impressive Indy at a reasonable price. I'm with everyone else on this quest, and I hope we can convince them to make it happen in the not too distant future!!!

Can't let this thread fall to page 2! And I agree about your love for the Indy films Mudshark. While I loved the original Star Wars trilogy when I was a kid...and I mean LOVED it, there was something about Raiders of the Lost Ark that hit me even harder. I was around 8 when it came out, and must have seen it in the theater at least 5 times that summer with my older bro. I think it was because it was just such a cool adventure that took place here on earth, so I could identify with it being more plausible than Star Wars' outerworldly action, even though the Star Wars films did look incredibly cool.
To this day, Raiders is one of my ALL TIME favourite films...One of my top three for sure. I think it stands the test of time better than SW...Probably because it doesn't look so 70's (helps that it's a period piece set in the 30's!) and Lawrence Kasdan's script is nowhere near as corny as some of the lines in Star Wars. However, both sets of films are absolute classics anyway you slice it (Even if Jedi and Temple of Doom are weaker than the others...) :)

This thread continues to need rescue. Surprising. I know that everyone on this forum is an Indiana Jones fan. I had hoped this thread would generate excitement, along with the Indy IV announcement, so that SS and other companies could see the value in making 1/6th figures from the films. Please help keep this thread alive and maybe we'll see these figures come to life. We have Batman, Superman, Robocop, Luke Skywalker, Aragorn, Arnold, James Bond, Jack Sparrow, Rambo, Rocky, even unlikely figures like Sarah Connor and Ripley at long last... and I can't imagine a complete 1/6th display of action heroes without Indiana Jones.

We'll see, hopefully they'll mix old and new, but I don't think they'll roll out with the old, and there are many ways to ramp up nostalgia, like showing the remastered Original films in Theatres and IMAX leading up to Indy4. I'm only interested in ROTLA anyway so I can wait.

PF would be great, and I will be VERY surprised if it doesn't happen. That's not any inside information, but just the sense that the timing is really coming together. And as others mentioned, Sideshow and Lucasfilm already have a good relationship.
I'm a little skeptical that a "full line" on the scale of LOTR or StarWars or even something like GG's Potter would be very feasible, since those series have a much greater variety of key characters. I could imagine a few key scenes doing well sculpted, but Indy himself is pretty much in all of them - so it could get redundant quickly. I guess there are a decent handful of side characters that would make nice mini busts though - melting head nazi would be great. Sallah, Marion and Belloq and maybe Brody might be nice too. I'm thinking of GG's treatment of the matrix series - there were killer sculpts of the two main characters, plus mini busts to round out the other significant players. Some prop replicas could also be great - a 1/3 scale Ark or 1:1 medallion headstaff piece. Maybe Indy's pistol and whip.
Don't get me wrong - Raiders is probably my single favorite film above all others. I saw it with my folks and two brothers when I was a kid, and it was instant love. My Dad had us terrified from his warnings that it was scary. The film itself we handled just fine. :D It's a special memory to me.
It's just not the ensemble universe that lends itself to extravagent collectible representations IMO. But no doubt, a PF Indy is at the VERY TOP of my wish list. I've already promised my Dad one as a gift for his theater room as well! So Sideshow had better come through! :D

Also true. I watched this film a few months back in my Dad's Theater. I had forgotten how good a film it is. And it's the Father-Son dynamic that really shines and makes it work. Nothing can touch Raiders, but #3 was great, and here's hoping for a fun day at the theater (at least) with #4.

I want a PF Indy so much, I actually found myself trying to justify the cost of the Cinemaquette. Don't get me wrong, if you can afford to drop that kinda cash on something like that, God bless. They look amazing. But a $350 PF as opposed to a $2000 Cinemaquette?

I'd really like to see nice, but affordable 1:6 representations of all the artifacts Jones hunted as well as a 1:6 Indy himself. Think of how awesome a display with the Ark could be.
As far as bad guys go, there are plenty of 1:6 scale Nazis for Indy to beat up on.
I'd like to see a PF for those of you that are into such things, but I have no interest in it myself.

Back Atcha ;) Sounds like we're on the same page here. The cinemaquette is quite beautiful - if a little TOO creepily realistic (That's just the justification we'll use for why we didn't really want it anyway, thanks :D ) But I didn't consider it for very long either. WOW! I'm glad to see so many people on board for an Indy PF and 1/6 line. I've been championing the cause with Wor-Gar for about a year and a half now! I have a 'strong' feeling we'll see this as an SS license before too long...As mentioned in previous posts, the relationship between SS and Lucasfilm is already really strong...and with a 4th film on the way next year, the INTEREST will peak in those who may not be 'on board' just yet...although judging from all the Indy threads we've been championing, it seems to me SS would have NO trouble selling 2,000 or 3,000 Indy Raiders PF's and several thousand 1/6 figures right NOW! I CANNOT wait! I can see the annoncement already...just the simple silhouette of the man with the hat and whip! GOOSEBUMPS! :D

And as Indy Fett says, with their great Lucas connection and the renewed interest that's bound to follow the next Indy movie, it seems practically inevitable they'll be anouncing a new Indy Jones line in the not too distant future. In the meantime, let's keep the dream alive right here!

Especially when you consider the T-850 Arnold they made for Terminator 3. That thing's likeness is so good it's creepy.

Ain't that the truth. Still, if we were talking about a 3 3/4" or a 1:6 figure (hell, even a mini bust), I'd be more inclined to accept something that looks "like the character" or has the "essence" of Ford. Lord knows I've done so in the past.
I just feel that if I'm throwing down serious coin for a Cinemaquette, I want that sucker to scare me with it's authenticity. From what we've seen so far, it looks enough like him but no moreso than any other good Harrison Ford sculpt I've seen.
Man, talkin' all this smack about it really helps to curb my wanton lust for the piece. Denial ain't just a river, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Amen to that! So far the only one that I ever felt got close was the now waaay overpriced Toys McCoy ROTLA Indy that came out about 10 years ago. The expression was rather doll-like, but I think it was probably intentionally done that way, to give it a sort of classic action figure look, which was Toys McCoy's stock in trade at the time. There have been plenty of resin and vinyl garage kits of Indy too over the years, but few of them managed to even come close to nailing Ford's Indy mug for some reason. Anyway, we all know there's still plenty of room for improvement, and it's long overdue!

This comes from that hazy internet misinformation/rumor/grain of salt/grain of truth area that I love and hate at the same time.
Yes, that's the title of Frank Darabont's (Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile...A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 :rock ) script that Lucas took a huge crap on, but Lucas is known to hang on to names he likes for later use.
Mace Windu, anyone?
It's possible that the new screenplay by David Koepp may still retain that title, we don't really know. A few news outlets have picked it up from the Darabont days and run with it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not true. Time will tell, I guess.
I like it, personally. It sounds a little video-game/crappy comic book spin-offish, but at this point, I think any Indiana Jones and... title is gonna sound a little weird at first.

Agreed. Not only did I have total faith in Darabont, but if Steven Spielberg says it was all right with him, I'm sure it'd be all right with me.
But hey, Koepp wrote Carlito's Way. I love me some Carlito's Way. Then again, he also wrote Nic Cage's Snake Eyes. And Baldwin's The Shadow. :horror

I don't think a 1/6 line is likely, but a one off PF seems pretty assured. However if they don't announce it before the Cinemaquette goes on sale, It's going to be tough for me to decide between them. Having seen the CMQ in person I think the headsculpt is dead-on, and there's a lot to be said for real hair if done right. The SSC PF would have to be a real wowser to bring me back over. And it would have to be announced before a dropped the grand and a half on the CMQ.

I don't think we're likely to get a whole 1:6 line out of it, but it's hard for me to believe that SST can't make a bundle on two or three Indy variants, though I do imagine the development costs for a nice but mass-produce-able whip and jacket would be a bit of a challenge.

I think a 1:6 Indy line is a pretty good bet. $tar Bore$ is the only line they are producing anymore because it is the only thing making the $$$. Indy is another hot property so they will milk it for all they can get. However, they will leave out 1 or 2 key figures like Mola Ram or Belloq which will be the equivalent of the Medieval Kurgan.

The general theory is that Harrison was the hold up for any Indy license as he was reluctant to give likeness rights. However Cinemaquette has managed to secure those rights, so there's no reason Sideshow couldn't.
And I have to agree about the hands are what set SSC figures apart. I'd never thought about no fists, but it's a good point. I can't recall any SSC figure that has had one.

Speaking of hands, I'd love it if Indy had punchin' hands, shootin' hands, and whippin' hands. A hand to hold valuable artifacts, and maybe a set fo gloved hands, as he seemed to spent most of RAIDERS with gloves on.
On a side not, how cool would it be if Sideshow's inevitable ANH Han Solo came with a set of hands wearing the racing gloves he wore in Ep IV?

Thanks you guys...and thanks for the PM screamingmetal. I checked the ebay link Atom...the clothing looks FANTASTIC. The headsculpt could use some work there, but I really just wanted to see the gear. I see the seller got two pretty harsh negatives in a row, probably why they're showing as 'not registered' currently while that gets sorted out...

That's very close to the set I have. The buttons on my shirt are a little larger, but the Jacket is the same. Strange that he says he made the clothing, I got the impression that the lady I ordered mine from made all of the costume since I asked if she could make other types of costumes to which she said she could. I planed on using the whip from Sydney Savage, but I'd love to have a real rawhide bull whip like that. But the Toy's McCoy boots have to go for some Newline Boots.
I'll back you up on that assessment! Do you remember when 21st Century did those hands-only sets back in 1999, 2000. I'd sure love it if Sideshow and Hot Toys did some accessory sets of JUST hands....
-AH!
Yeah I just posted about that set the other day. I bough one set but they came at a time that my interest in Ultimate Soldier was waning. I still buy their weapon sets though. Sideshow could definitely do a set like that. they did clothing and weapon sets for the Brotherhood of Arms and Platoon series, so it's not virgin territory for them. If anything, Star Wars will likely cause a hand set to get made.
I'd love multiple hands from an Indy figure too, multiple gloved hands would be a must. I'd also want a rifle stock hand as well as a pistol grip hand. They could do multiple releases from the different films, and cover any hand combination they needed to cover including non-gloved fists.
And I hope Sideshow doesn't skip on the glove hands Han used in ANH, they're a must.

On the hand set front, I thought any other customizers here would enjoy knowing that the hands that come with Legacy Connery Bond are PERFECT for Indiana.
There's a slightly open R. fist that I haven't seen with any other figure. I don't know why it's there, but it's perfect for holding the thin handle of his whip.
There's a relaxed L. hand that has fingers slightly more curled in than the "Force push" hands, and it works well for holding artifacts such as idols, etc. In fact, the figure comes with two of that hand. I don't know why.
There's also a R. pistol grip hand for his revolver. Nice set, eh?

I bought the Relic Hunter figure and put the clothing on an extra Han Solo SSC figure. The clothes fit perfectly and the pistol grip worked excellent for the revolver. The only thing is the headsculpt really looks much worse with Indy clothing because of the cheeks and most obviously the hair....not to mention the head is too big to have a fedora on it. I like the figure but I'm in the process of getting a custom head done for him....

very talented customizer but it looks like he's had some trouble lately. there's been warnings posted here and at OSW about his practices of late. personnally i think it's probably misunderstandings but he really needs to come forward and explain some things. just looks at that site tho. he's a one man machine. even made his own body for a time. i know no one else that can do costuming, sculpting (not his strongest point), molding/casting, paint, ect.

I've heard that that may not be the official title, as that was actually the title of the Frank Darabont script that didn't get used...but who knows?!
On another note, I got to have a good close-up look at the Premium Format John Wayne figure the other day at a local shop and it got me thinking about how great and detailed a PF Indy would look. The accuracy and detail on the outfit, holster, gun and hat is remarkable! Man I can't wait for an ROTLA Indy PF!
Oh, and as a side note, I'm loving the 1/6 LOTR line. The detail on the costumes and gear, right down to the fake leather straps and buckles is exquisite! Let's hope when SS picks up the Jones license, they follow the detail of the LOTR line! :D

"16. The biblical artwork of the Hebrews carrying the Ark of the Covenant in the film was illustrated by none other than famed Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie."
'"20. As Ben Burtt was sound designer for both the Star Wars and Indiana Jones series, the same source material can often be heard in both trilogies. Star Wars fans know that the dreaded Tusken Raiders from Tatooine were actually voiced by ill-tempered donkeys, but it becomes very apparent to the ear when Indy runs past a pack-donkey while being chased by the Hovitos. Many of us predicted there would be an Indy license announcement for SDCC ths year. I still think there will be. SSC should get the PF's and hopefully 12 inchers but knowing Lucas he'll only authorize Indy 4 stuff be rolled out the first year... if he does I won't buy any of it, it's ROTLA or nothing for me...

We are glad to hear about the interest in IJ - because we are pumped too! While we will be sneak-previewing some figures at Comic Con International, we have to keep the details under wraps for now. We will divulge that there are some very familiar scales as well as a few surprises in the line. Suffice to say that we have top men working on it. The same top men that have been bringing you the Star Wars line, so there should be a lot of consistency in approach.
I would also not be surprised to see a similar deal between Hasbro and Sideshow for the Indy line as we saw worked out for Star Wars 1:6 figures (assuming that Hasbro has the master toy license).
Had to post this here too. Could be great news... long awaited...

Anybody else find it odd that Indiana Jones was not listed on this weeks Sideshow poll for "Which license do you most want to see announced at Comic Con?"
Disney, The Godfather, Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters, The Fly, More Video Game Licenses? Mister Rogers? WTF?
Did they leave it off so as not to get our hopes up or because it's pretty much a shoe-in that it's going to be announced? You'd think since they know there is a tremendous demand that they would have included it as an option in the poll to help generate hype but I fear that they may have left it off to intentionally to not get our hopes up and create disappointment.

Sneak Peek: Sideshow ropes 'Indy,' debuts 'Buffy,' 'Godfather'
Sideshow Collectibles, one of the largest exhibitors at Comic-Con, has sent in exclusive news and sneak peeks at figurines and collectibles debuting in San Diego next week.
The Thousand Oaks-based company plans to unveil 70 new collectibles on the floor in their "museum style" booth.
They've also struck a new licensing deal with Lucasfilm to produce collectibles from all four "Indiana Jones" films.
Anyone crazy enough can now stick a life-sized bust of Indy right in the middle of the living room.
Meanwhile, Don Vito Corleone will be calling a meeting of the families down at Comic-Con -- all 16 lbs and 20" of him. They should hand those things out at the Oscars.
Some figurines are Sideshow's own design while others they distribute for friendly vendors. In the latter case, they're showing Electric Tiki's animated style Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the first 'toon version of Buffy to be released. Long live the Buffy! As you can see, this rendition is very, erm... perky.
Sideshow is also unveiling a line of wee little Hobbits, the new World of Warcraft line, not to mention a much-buzzed about 12" figure for Lucas and Star Wars. Code name: Storm Trooper on a Speeder bike. (I'm guessing they mean Scout Trooper on Speeder Bike)
For now, we'll just have to wistfully imagine what it looks like as we polish up our menacing white plastic armor and helmet for the masquerade. I want to see someone ride a life-sized version of a Speeder into the convention center.

Well the Herbert Johnson hat company in England made the hat's for the Indy films but the block that was used to form those hat's in Raiders was lost which explains why the hats have looked different in each movie since.
Wested leather of England is a costuming company that made the jackets for Raiders and Last Crusade, they also offer a great pair of replica Indy pants and shirt. They custom make the Wested Indy jacket according to your measurments, type of leather, and which Indy film.
The whip was made by David Morgan, expert whip maker and maker of them for movies like Zorro, Indy, Batman Returns, etc. A Indy whip is gonna run you about $650.00 though
Tons more of this info can be found at the Indygear.com site or at the Indy Gear Forum.

I'm mainly excited for an Indy PF and 1:6 figures if SSC can make them. Anything else would not only be out of my price range, but I would have no place to put them. :lol

WOW! :monkey5 Incredible news! I am hoping and praying that Sideshow will announce at the SDCC that they ARE making a 1/6 scale figure line for Indy. Of course a 1/4 PF Indy would rock too. But may be a little outta my price range. I could hopefully...afford all of the 1/6 scale ones. :D
Hey, that's a great Indy parody DarkArtist! I love it! I've been a HUGE Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi fan since the old days of Evil Dead! I got to meet Bruce about 7 years ago down here at a small Xena convention and get his autograph on a picture of him as Jack from Jack Of All Trades when he was filming that TV show. Great guy! Very funny too. I filmed him talking to us at that 'con. Awesome.

Its officially announced:
Adventure Begins For Sideshow Collectibles With Indiana Jones Franchise
Thousand Oaks, California (July 2007) - Sideshow Collectibles is proud to expand its relationship with Lucasfilm with the announcement of a new licensing deal to produce collectibles from the Indiana Jones film series. The adventure series began with the 1981 release Raiders of the Lost Ark, followed in 1984 by Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and by Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. After fourteen nominations and seven Academy Award wins for the film franchise, the adventure continues with a much-anticipated fourth installment yet to be titled, set for release on May 22, 2008. Sideshow's product line will be inclusive of all four Indiana Jones films and will include 12-inch Figures, Premium Format Figures, and Life-size Busts that will range in price from $69.99 to $599.99
Professor of archaeology Indiana Jones is frequently called upon to save priceless relics from falling into the wrong hands. Dr. Jones faces many dangers as he travels the world, battling enemies from power-hungry Nazis to voodoo priests. Jones pieces together mysterious clues, deciphers ancient maps and navigates deadly booby-traps in search of hidden artifacts. Armed with his trusty bullwhip and charming wit, Indiana Jones defeats evil, woos distressed damsels, and recovers supernatural treasures.

There could also be the possibility that the Indiana Jones 12'' figures may feature the rumored *new* Sideshow body styles as well.
Though the license and likeness for Ford and other characters can also be part of it.

So, is it pretty much certain that we won't see any products at the Con, or are they just holding thos back for later? There are a few spots on the booth map that has unidentified listings, and that newspaper article did mention a 1:1 bust.

Wow, finally a dream come true! I had wanted the old Kenner 12" Indy, and finally made my own 12" Indy last year with some help. Now with Sideshow's announement of snagging the Indy license for the 12" figures, and the PF Indy, I can't wait to get them all! I hope that Sideshow accurately captures the liknesses of all of the characters. I don't mind paying $70.00 per figure...if they are done right! :D

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Since the movie is almost a year away they are announcing the license now since by the time it is out they will have product so that they can hit the rush of Indiana Jones merchandise.

HAHA! too true. And Darren, I'll pay WHATEVER it costs to get my Indy's PERFECT!
Seriously though, SS better step up their QA and QC for the Indy license. I mean SW collectors are used to Hasblow™, so the SS figs are a dream come true (although Medicom is starting to sucker punch SS!)
Indy collectors are going to DEMAND perfection (not that SW fans don't...I collect that line too, so let's not start a war in this thread OK! :lol )
All I'm saying is that the detail on the outfits better be at least on par with the LOTR 1/6 figs in terms of the tiny simulated leather belts, clasps and buckles...but with WAY better paint apps...I mean WAAAAAAY better! And Indy's fedora MUST be made of material...NOT plastic...and NOT floppy felt (like the Asian 'Relic Hunter' Indy...)
I'm still REALLY excited about this announcement. Don't screw it up SS. Raiders might just be my favourite film of ALL TIME. There's a lot riding on this...

with ss's sw ford sculpts so far.... I dont know if I am happy or sad that SS scored the indy license. (han solo is one of the lame sw figures IMO) perhaps the price hike reflects a better figure and not because of additional accesory or the price of the license. Fingers crossed.

I remember wanting that Toys Mccoy Indiana Jones (and separate Horse accessory) real bad, but that thing went for a helluva lot of money.....
I am sure SS will put out a kick ass likeness of Ford - I agree, for this one to be high quality, it will need to run a bit more money that some of the others......
