The "I passed on Maul for one reason or an other" thread. Tell us why.
I passed for two reasons. I don't like Maul enough to have a 18" tall figure of him standing around. I don't like the way SSC handled this PPO. Otherwise, the figure is a nice addition to the SW PF line.

I passed on Maul exclusive because I'd rather save the money and spend it on something else (technically not saving, eh?) and I wouldn't display the droid so its a small loss.

Passed on the exclusive (ultimately :naughty). Might pick up a regular if I see a deal I can't refuse but I'm assuming that my dollars will go toward getting the Droids (assuming their announcement is just around the corner) instead.

I passed on Maul for several reasons:

1st: I am just plain happy with the 1:6 version.
2nd: Space...with 3 PF and now Jabba w/Throne in my collectors room, real estate is becoming an issue!

What I do not understand from SS on the PF Maul: they normally do not release similar versions of the same character in the different scales soo close to release with each other. Years have gone by and we still have no 1:6 Farmboy Luke or ANH Han....so, I was shocked that mere months have gone by with Maul. Did they just figure he was that popular? :monkey5

I didn't pass because I got rid of my 12 inch SW dolls because they look nothing like the character, they all look deformed. So I got Maul The PF SW line is the best line out there.

I'm sure they did, and yes he is :) I said in posting on another forum, I think Maul is just the perfect collectibles character, he works great for any scale and format, so I'm sure it was a matter of Maul being a great character for the PF scale and knowing the 1/6 collectors would kill to have a great Maul in that line, and luckily we got both. Perhaps some of you that didn't order because it just didn't fit with your lives but your collecting hearts wanted him, will luck out and circumstances will favor you some day to acquire him.

I guess you guys are right....for me, he was the best part of EP I - I wished he had been used even more, but I guess that is what makes him perfect....his role was short, but sweet. Space is such a huge factor for me, if not for that, I would probably own all the PFs! Thanks for the comments!

I would say / hope that Palpatine/Sidious could be one that is revealed later in the year and my hope would be that they'd do him in a more Hasbro Unleashed style with some force lightning, which would be great with LED, but may require a bit more R&D to execute the lighting in a high quality manner and not have it be toyish.

Yes, he is that popular. He's one of the top 4-5 most popular characters in the SW Saga. The only reason his 12" didn't sell out fast was due to it being an inclusive edition. Maul is the perfect character for collectibles because he is totally eye catching.

I liked it and I'm glad it isn't actually that expensive (I don't want the exclusive, I've got both the 12" and the probes) so the regular is pretty good, but I've got to spend my money elsewhere. And if I got a PF it would be General Grievous, although I can't afford the $450 that's for the Second Chance. Although I'd gladly take a free one from Sideshow and pay shipping.:monkey1

I'm not just passing on the exclusive, I'm passing on this PF altogether. I don't like anything about this one. The face looks a little off to me and I can't stand the pose, no matter what angle I view it from. I don't like how the clothing looks on him, either. They should have gone without an action pose and included his robe.

I have nothing against Maul, the 12" figure looks great. But I have no interest in getting any PF figures from the PT. They are too big and expensive not to be picky. Even with the OT I have to be very selective.

...Not to mention the space that they take up in the display case! But yeah, being selective is key. I have Boba on pre-order and would like to get many of the Stormtrooper variations (depending on pose)...and potentially the droids and Jango Fett...It'll definitely have to be a 'selective' few.

Well, to me Maul is the best looking Sith to date (yes, even including Vader. Vader just had the cool voice and attitude, which maul had none of). I personally passed on him because I have the 12" and the PF was too expensive for me. I have to save up for the Obi/Anakin diorama.

I passed as I have not bought a PF yet (although they look phenomenal) and I am incredibly happy with the 1/6 version of The Phantom Menace's best part--- It's a price thing. I look at Darth Maul and think about all of he 1/6 I could get... One pose, too much dough...equals no go.

I'm surprised so many people haven't tasted the PF line. I was collecting both PF and 12, but got rid of the 12 inch figures due to the PF figures being the best figures I have seen. I like to have an accurate collectible and the 12 inch line disappointed me. :emperor

After I received the Frodo PF I promptly cancelled all the 1/6 scale figures I had on preorder save for Medicom Fett, and I doubt I'll even keep that one. I'll still get a select few (Bespin Luke for one) but they just aren't the same to me anymore.

I am passing Maul on to a friend, I don't feel the need for the PF after having the 1:1 scale bust. My decision was made easier because the pose wasn't the static Maul I was hoping for, and the best part about him is his face --- can't beat that in 1:1 scale.

I'm still passing on Maul--- although I'd love to pick up a Grievous (with the exclusive cape). The Hasblo one just doesn't cut it and I doubt we'll see a 12" General anytime soon--- of course after looking at the price and then adding the exchange rate and shipping----- I'll wait for the 12"...
