I am brand new (today) to this forum but heard great things about it. I have a pretty DUMB QUESTION. How can I get a PF EXCLUSIVE DARTH MAUL if I'm only a "regular" PPO SSC member. Is there ANYONE who would be willing to forgo their opportunity and sell one off to me?? I highly doubt it, but thought I'd give it a try!!! :maul

starwarsgeek7 - the best option is to try to get one at Noon IF any are left. We really have no idea what to expect with this one, as it's a brand new way of handling a pre-order. Keep in mind, if there are no Exclusives left, the regular edition will also be available at Noon - the figure is exactly the same, just without the added Sith probe droid accessory :duff

But if you really want the exclusive and it sells out, get on the Wait List immediately. It will be on the exclusive product page in place of the ordering option. You will have an excellent chance if you get on right away.

And stay positive! I'm sure you will get one if you want one, one way or the other.

I doubt you'll have any trouble, but to put your mind at ease I'll order one for you and you can have it at cost if you aren't able to get one either tomorrow or through the wait list. So now you are guaranteed one and can rest easy.

Though I am 99.99% sure you'll be able to get one on your own.

If there aren't any available when the general population can order get on the waitlist. I think your odds of getting one that way are very good. I got on the Leia exclusive waitlist in March 06, and she was released for pre-ordering in November 05.

Dusty... is this something we may possibly see implimented for future 1/6 figures? Something makes me think that even if it is, it won't make it any easier or harder for anyone.

No SW PF with an edition of 1000 or more has been that hot. I think this one would have lasted days if they hadn't pumped up the publicity and buzz with this new order method. I still believe that it will last longer than two hours--but I could always be surprised.

Frankly, I think the fact that they still have the last shipped Star Wars PF Exclusive sitting around waiting for Second Chance customers means that they needed to generate some heat under the next one. These things usually take a bit of time to sell out and then tank on the secondary market. I have every one, all purchased directly--and I think that other than Han Solo, I could have easily purchased every single exclusive for less money on eBay. Look how many people vowed to skip Exclusive Fett and get him from a retailer. They don't want that happening with Maul, and this new preorder strategy has drummed up a lot of attention and will have people rushing to place their direct order. It seems like a good business/marketing decision has been made and new excitement has been breathed into the line. More people are going to be rushing to order him, and that's a good thing for Sideshow and the SW PF license.

I shall continue to (hopefully) buy every exclusive PF they make, and get them all direct from Sideshow to show them my support. Any decision that generates more interest in the line--while giving special treatment to me as a completist--is fine by me.

The thing with PF or anything this high end is I don't think you can compare the sell out rates of the 1:6 to these. Sometimes I think folks do that and get to feeling negative about the PF lines. This will last past the 2 hour mark I think but that doesn't mean it's a slow seller.

I know I saw that to late too. But I just bought a GG Dewback for $350 on ebay so I dont have any money to buy a big item right now but Im a worried about this seller. I had already bought a GG Speederbike and Tauntaun from him and didnt have any problems. I had it 5 days later but he said he had to go get the Dewback out of storage and said he would ship it with in 10 days. Its been about 2 weeks now but he did promise me that he would ship on this Friday so I guess we will see. I really hope I can get one for $350 and not have to go through Paypal to get my money back.

The thing with PF or anything this high end is I don't think you can compare the sell out rates of the 1:6 to these. Sometimes I think folks do that and get to feeling negative about the PF lines. This will last past the 2 hour mark I think but that doesn't mean it's a slow seller.

I agree.

People are more willing to spend $65 for a 1:6 figure than $200++ for a PF. The demand for 1:6 figures is MUCH greater than PFs.

Normally I would agree with you 100% on this point, but this is Darth Maul we're talking about. It probably will still be available after the end of the special window, but it wouldn't surprise me too much to see it sell out during that time, either.

Well, I'd sure like to know how someone got one 2-3 months ago. I put myself on the wait list at the end of 2005, and I got a notice from Sideshow last July that no more were available, and they canceled my order. If there really were still some available, I'm going to be very, very upset.

Well, at one point I received an e-mail from Sideshow telling me that I had basically no chance of ever getting one since there were so few made, and that if I wanted I could purchase a sold out regular Han instead.

I turned down the offer and kept my wait list--even though there seemed to be no hope. It was eventually converted and I received a Han Exclusive at regular price.

It doesn't hurt at all to leave it in there. You never know what will turn up in the warehouse. I still have one or two Wait List orders in my account that I don't think will ever get converted, but I leave them there just in case. Who knows--they might just run across an extra Treebeard Bust one of these days...

Me too!!! Fortunately but I do hope in no more edition sizes of 250 for a PF ex, at least for Star Wars I would rather see an edition size for exes at 500 not less, anyway now I'm more ready than before to order... I remember I couldn't order the Rebel Hero as I was doing a screentest out of town, then when I came back home I saw It had sold out...:monkey2 but the waitlist gave me a joy!:D

Dave I must say It took much less than a day to sell out as I came back in the early afternoon my time and it was just a sellout... well I still hope Sideshow will let everybody who has the han rebel hero get the Luke rebel hero PF someday... I know the ed size will be 250 and they won't gain too much from the selling of that but I just hope.
